I've always considered the Miroirs suite to be something fantastical. That said, I've always had a hard time getting into these pieces (and Ravel in general), although I've made the effort. Today I saw a piano concerto featuring the whole suite and for the first time I've quite understood it's feeling and meaning. I can't express the genius in this work, but it's definitely become one of my favourites.
