  • The more things CHANGE the more the stay the SAME.

  • Dammit, I came here wanting to hear "Tom Sawyer" or "Spirit Of Radio." F***ing false advertising.

  • I got a kick out of this but I started laughing out loud at 8:46 lol.

  • Phil: classy, thoughtful, gracious, incisive. He remains the touchstone for what engaging and controversial talk can be, while remaining intelligent. Modern TV should take note.

  • I don’t think I have ever seen Donahue give a bad interview, regardless how much he may have disagreed. His interviews with Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, David Duke, Louis Farrakhan, Khalid Muhammad, etc. were excellent.

  • @AntonBatey his ''interview'' of the holocaust revisionist was completely biased though

  • @DREwestcoast

I'll have to check it out. It rings a bell, now that you mention it though.

  • "in order to have rights...you have to be able to make and keep agreements"

so by that standard, terry shiavo shouldn't have had rights...

  • feminists are not nazis!

    they're much worse!

  • Rush talking about Global Warming 20 years ago. And Florida still isn't under water, AlGore.

  • I certainly don't agree with Donahue's views but he was very respectful to Rush here.

  • I must give Donahue credit, by today's degenerate standards Phil was a warm host. He's in the presence of the man who has turned out to be the greatest radio figure in the history of the business. The undisputed king with 23 straight years of an unmatched colossal listening audience. If you want to see the best clip of the Donahue show on internet watch this youtube video: "Milton Friedman Phil Donahue". Genuis economics short & sweet.

  • @3434arc1 yes genuis economics that ensures near constant recessions, bubbles that of course pop, and depressions. btw, Howard Stern beats Limbaugh as greatest radio figure I think, and I'm not a big fan of Stern. Today's degenerate standards? People said the same crap back then when comparing to years before. I just get tired of hearing that, what degenerate standards and how is it any different from then?

  • Personally, I'm ALL FOR them being in combat. Hey If feminsts are arguing for women to go get their bodies all blown to shit for a change, why should we stop em.

Of course, the argument from those clueless idiot feminists (notice they've quieted down about this now tho)is the misconception that being in the army is somehow some kind of powerful, privileged thing, when in fact it's just the opposite. Sorry, but going to a place where you can get blown to bits is NOT a privilege or powerful.

  • You don't want women in Combat . That is a fact. Many reasons for that . Like it or not generally speaking Men are stronger .

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES there's not that many reasons if any at all. Men are usually physically stronger when it comes down to just your bare hands and feet, but there are many other ways they can equalize men's physical strengh. I say properly train them to be able to withstand the pressures and stressors men have to endure in combat and send them into the heat of battle. Why prevent them? Certainly it's unfair to men that they are the only ones that have to sign the draft in this day and age.

  • @unfortunatebeam Sure. Next thing you'll tell me is Woman should play Pro Football.

  • Football's different...mainly because it's basically a male homosexual ritual played and watched by the type of men who are so insecure about the idea of touching the skin of other men that they need to invent this elaborate safety valve in order to vent that desire. So an equivalent female homsexual ritutal I dont think is needed because women generally aren't that insecure.

But again, if women want to get their bones and necks broken playing football, be my guest. Why should you care?

  • @unfortunatebeam you can't train a gender that is weaker physically and has become master in victimization mentally to become resilient to agression... life is simple isn't it?

  • @Zofirael you CAN train women to carry their fair load and be able to withstand possible hand to hand combat. it's not like most of the men in the army are exactly "he-men" anyway. decades of female interest now in bodybuilding and weightlifting and playing contact/combat sports proves that women can gain comparable strength. your victimization mentality point I can understand but if a woman volunteers for the army she should know what she's getting into and be able to handle it.

  • @unfortunatebeam gain comparable strenght? name one sport.... just one where men and women can really compete together without becoming ridiculous. And after that i have to add that war is the most extreme and demanding activity the human body can do. This has nothing to do with sexism or mysandry... just simple and plain reality. I truly am for equality when it's possible... but in this case, it's not.

  • Donahue's thinking is disjointed.

  • Rush illustrates absurdity by being absurd. People just don't want to get it, or are too dumb to get it.

  • @litalearthquakes So I take it that you can't stand Mr. Limbaugh. I am surprised at his success!!!

  • @litalearthquakes hold up. "Rush" has said some pretty dreadfully dumb things himself, you can't deny that. Although here he actually makes some good points and uses humor to ok effect to make them.

  • @unfortunatebeam He's had a long career of being insulated by his fame where he's slowly become a caricature of himself. Even though I don't agree with the extreme of things I hear him say, I try to keep an open mind because I think that there's a grain of truth in it. It's easier to see in this 1992 clip than it is today.

  • @osgeek very true, I can see value in most of his points, stances, except when it comes to war and US freedom matters

  • Although I don't care for Donahue, I have to give him his props here. While he clearly doesn't share Rush's views, he was courteous and respectful, and it was refreshing to see a host not engage in any gratuitous personal attacks.

Phil, please contact that cretin named Bill Maher.

  • hear hear!

But in all actually, Donahue was being very condescending. Rush made some very good points, and Phil didn't even take them seriously.

  • True, Phil is an unapologetic liberal, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here, partially because I remember watching this show years ago and listening to Rush's own show the next day. (Rush didn't really complain about Phil's treatment at all, just his liberalism)

  • @ObamaOpposesItToo Did Rush know that Phil was a liberal? I am and I have good friends who are conservative Christians. They know I am a left winger and will ALMOST always take that side.

  • @ObamaOpposesItToo Bill maher isnt half as bad as Joy Behar.

  • @JBinOtown Bill Maher is awesome and I'm a huge fan of his. I'm glad I am not the only progressive with libertarian leanings. So what exactly is your beef with Joy?

  • @ObamaOpposesItToo Ya but this is rare.Donahe is usually very bad at that.I havent watched it yet,but I'll let ya know if I agree or not LOL.

  • @ObamaOpposesItToo Oh those two have met a few times.

  • @ObamaOpposesItToo

Bill Maher is a comedian. Donahue is not.

  • @zeroeffects88 Then he should be funny, not vile.
