  • Thx

  • good vid and i know this shoud work but it dosent for me

  • Worthless.

  • @1dieseldetailer Why worthless? it works and thats all i needed.

  • buen video

  • Fuck is up with this gay ass club techno fist pumpin steve blackman second wwe theme song having fruity ass song. #killyoself and this is bullshit anyway. Flagged, thumbs down.

  • Amazing notepad skills bro.

  • 虽然看不懂英文,但是readyboost并不是将虚拟内存放入优盘就好了.

  • Sorry, but what's the difference between Flash drive ans USB - Stick ?

  • @drivenstardust nothing. just different names

  • @drivenstardust a flashdrive is just a storage drive without moving components so this can be a usb storage drive but i can also be a flash "harddrive" flash is way faster but a harddrive sized flashdrive can only contain 200 gigs or so at the moment.

  • about EBOOSTRY

    /watch?v=3kL00dTovMg

  • The simple way use EBOOSTR :)

/user/TheMrExus watch his tutorial if u want full version

  • I was able to do this on an older 6yr old computer, however my new x64 computer just doesn't see any device except my internal HD. I have three flash drives and an external, and none of them show up, no matter how I work them. All four devices are recognized in my computer, and I use them to transfer files and even to install new operating systems on other computers. Help?

  • Thanks man.

  • this has nothing to do with readyboost, this is just normal virtual ram like the one on your HDD... and btw the more "ram" you set up on your drive/hdd, the slower it will work since windows will see he has 1-2 Gb of ram and will start expanding and will fill your actual ram to 100% and work only on HDD/flash and that WILL work slow as shit

  • BEWARE OF THIS STUFF ~!!

if you install it you cannot remove your USB it can cause a system failure like blue screen. etc. and the maximum is not 4gb but only 2.5gb. do not try the 4gb it causes a lot of failures....

  • If only I had more than 512 mb of ram!

  • 20 people Fucked up their USB's

  • You have a dirty Desktop!

    Run desktop cleanup wizard dude!

  • Could I use a one terabyte portable hard drive and add like 100 gb towards it?

  • @1zacster 4GB or lower is recommended for windows xp and vista.

  • @Zennybo0m Do you think a intel i5(I think 250/260 or 2500/2600 with 8th ram can run mineraft and record in hd at at least 30 fps? By hd I mean 720p but 1080 would be great!

  • @1zacster probably, minecraft takes a bit of juice to record. might be a bit of lag depending on the recording program, but if u can get good video then just render it in 1080p.

  • Is there any way to check if its working

  • doens't really seem to speed anything up at all.

best advice....buy the max ram you can use.

  • it works great!!! now i can run multiple applications at the same time, i used a 4 gb flash drive but only 1.5 gb where available and my computer runs way faster thanx!!

  • yes you can create a pagefil on our usb but how do you get about forcing windows to use this pagefile-i think your misinforming people?

  • Putting your pagefile on a USB stick is a surefire way to murder it.

  • to mr. pleasedontsneeeze how will i know that what i did is successful??.. i there anyway i can see that my ram changes??.. thanks

  • @jk110100 And i work in ICT and do this stuff for a living.

  • @jk110100 for a start that comment is over a year old. secondly the way windows initialises usb during boot has not changed. so comment is still valid.

windows has to have system files modified to run from a usb stick, this is the same reason you cannot put a page file on ANY usb drive

just do the intelligent thing and add more ram to the pc.

see GOAE7777 post below for what ready boost does it has nothing to do with virtual memory.

  • I don't want my computer to use my hard drive at all. should I set that one to 2 MB and just leave the flash drive in? Thanks.

  • bull shit, will work , but its not even close to as fast as ready boost...

this is a waste of time

  • Whenever I restart the computer attempts to boot from the usb drive....So I turn it off and then turn on the computer and the settings aren't saved.......

  • I love German porno music

  • hey why can i use 18 gigs on the main hard disk (C)?

  • is increasing virtual ram to 4gb the same as readyboost?

    whats the difference?

  • @LAHrebirth This is not ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost is not virtual memory. Rather, it detects frequently used small in size page memory and then caches it to ReadyBoost. The reason this is different is because the average flash drive can only read contiguous data roughly 15 MB/s, as where a platter hard drive can do 80 MB/s or higher, which sounds nice, but data in virtual memory is seeked randomly and is not contiguous, which is where platters are slow compared to almost zero seek time flash.

  • The vid is real, but the results aren't the same as readyboost or eboostr.

Does anyone know where to get a freeware version of eboostr, or somthing like it?

  • unce unce unce unce unce unce unce unce 0:26

  • @1zacster he he he, great post

  • so i cant use an 8 gig flash drive and write in 4000 in the nuber select??

  • great bitf info if it worked very well demonstrated tho

  • IDIOT this is NOT ready boost. A virtual Memory IS: A file in which UNUSED RAM is moved to save RAM. So it is better to let it on C: (or a other Hard Disk Drive IN YOUR PC not external!)

  • " (pleasedontsneeze) " your intentions are good. Knowledge to share with people.

Honestly, your knowledge about this, will not work, based on your video.

XP will not use your pendrive as ReadyBoost, as you describe. Unless you can show us that there is a pagefile.sys and your Pendrive is blinking, than it is a usefull information!

FYI, This video is Totally Fake! I gurantee it!

  • @panties82 Even if this let you put a swap file on your flash drive, ReadyBoost uses an algorithm to determin weather a read will be faster on the hard drive or the USB, then uses the fastest one. USB have slower sequential reads, which are more common, so this would decrease your performance without the selective nature of ReadyBoost software.

  • i know this sound like a dumb question but, Can i use external hardrive?

  • pagefile never creates in flashdrive. Go check your USB drive, page file never created there. In order to do that, you need eboostr.

  • Tnx, i loved it! :D

  • Just add an extra hard drive and use the same config. What it does it config the extra hard drive to vertual memory. I got mine setup to 12GB of memory. So it will never gonna share my C drive as vertual memory. Ohh... get a 20GB Hard drive from ebay like $15 and you will need to install into your computer. But worth it.

  • wow, like no one who has any brains didn't already know how to increase virtual memory, get a hobby u bad kid

  • my usb is put in and it comes in drive K:

but i dont see drive K; what do i have to do to see it and use it :(?

    tyy

  • Comment removed

  • click set then ok

  • My drive keeps going back to automatically resetting back to the C drive. I want to set it permanatly to the E:/ drive. How?

  • its very useful

    tnx.....

  • gr8 job!

    5/5

  • nice video thank you.

  • what happens if u plug out the usbdrive while doing something (after the reboot)?? and what will happen if u plug it in again?

  • @aosheezy in my experience.. if u mean by removing the flash drive while the computer is running, i get a blue screen error and windows automatically turns off and start again....

  • he has a shitty designed HP partion system, like a million partitions and most people don't know how to access them, my sisters laptop had a 80gb drive in it(yeah i know *80gb WTF, my computer has 800GB fuck) but in hers she used it up, im like that can't be, turns out it was wasting 40gb that wasn't even formated, didn't show up in my computer, so yeah they have some explaining to do - dell, acer,hp, etc and all the shit brands..............

  • basically every brand thats why i built my computer

  • Yet another "expert" that has no clue and doesn't know it. All he is doing is moving the page file to an external drive (AND making it smaller, possibly even TOO small.)

Google ReadyBoost if you actually want to know what it does (which ISN'T moving the page file someplace, fyi.)

  • can i use a sd card ? the only drive that is showing up is the hard drive?

  • will a non readyboost certified flash drive work on this one?

  • This is possible if you Google for microdrive drivers and install them. This makes your USB drive/CF/SD/SHDC etc cards become a hard disk and XP will allow a page file on it.

Remember you can't remove it whilst xp is running if you have a page file on it !!!

  • This is Usless Crap. windows resets the usb drives during bootup and will not use them for a page file. if you check back in the pagefile settings after a reboot you will see that no pagefile has been allocated to the usb.

  • Thanks alot, this really helped. 10/10

  • I only have a c:

  • so connect your flash drive

it doesn't show up if your flash drive isn't connected to your pc

  • dude,

when i go to advanced, bla bla, and click "change", the unit F:/ doesn't appear?!

    How can I do?

    Thank You Bro'

  • Nice !!!!

  • Thanx a TONNNNN pal , I owe u ... its WORKIN' !

  • CAN ANYBODY JUST GIMME KEY OF READYBOOST for windows or eboostr...mines a trial one

  • its free on vista

  • mejor usen eboostr

  • That means I could do this with a blank dvd... AWESOME!!!

  • no ou cant your absolutely wrong.

  • Umm.. I know.. I figured that our after I tried it. But you don't have to be an ass.

  • Excuse me?!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry I was being an asshole >:(.

  • HAHAHA I got an old 200Gb HDD Installed it into my computer and allocated 20Gb of RAM :D

  • Thanks so much for the video, using "readyboost" on my xp machine that only has 300mb of ram dramatically improved the overall performance.

Im using a 1Gb SD card

  • im using a 1 GB SD card, and got ~750MB, but i would mutch rather use my 16 gb flash drive, witvh gives me 4GB. :P

  • Thanks

  • This isnt readyboost.. Vista Readyboost actually uses it as REAL TIME RAM. Virtual RAM is only when you run out of physical memory. Vista Readyboost makes teh RAM go in REAL TIME.

  • really? cuz then i'll upgrade to vista...cuz i have ultimate sitting right here......

  • Cool. I need 2 question.

    1. Do I need ReadyBoost USB or normal regular Flash Drive ?

    2. I want for 4GB so type 4000 correct ?

    Thanks

  • any flash drive will work, u could even use an sd card.... and yup if u want 4gb type 4000....thanks for watching :D

  • @pleasedontsneeze wrong, if 4GB type 4096MB

  • @pleasedontsneeze Can I also use an external HD?

  • @pleasedontsneeze Ahem, 2 years old or not, there's 4096MB in 4GB, even then, you can't utilise that much.

  • @pleasedontsneeze

mm 4 gig is not precisiusly 4000 mb

    it

    1/2 gig 512 mb

    512 mb x 8 = 4096 mb ! = 4 GIG!

  • @Northisbest u wont need 4gb. 1 gb will overdo actually...

  • does he make a difference for games because i tried and it didnt work,so if not for games for what do we need virtual memory

  • It's like emergency RAM.. If you run out of physical memory(the sticks full load) then it goes and writes the virtual RAM in a place in your hard drive so Windows doesn't crash.

  • WHOAH MAN, U're AWESOME! THanks, now my computer is a bit faster =D. 5/5 Score!
