Beth Moore is amazing. Out of the blue I checked out her class. I am so grateful for her work. Thank you Beth. I have had the hardest last two years and went from nothing to hearing this teaching and the empowering message has transformed my thinking. I went in with doubts and I love her passion and great great heart for people. I can only speak from my experience ---with all my heart I am eternally grateful.

This woman charges $60 per person to speak at Mega churches, The prophets gave their lives bringing us the Word, Like Vernon McGee says, "no Christian should live in a mansion." She's making enough off of a homeless Jesus to buy several dozen. Fake and mislead christian women should be more curious!
You need to do your research before judging Beth. She does not live an extravagant lifestyle, and donates most of her money to Christian organizations.. why do we need to constantly criticize Christians who are somewhat successful? Her ministry is totally blessed.

Beth is funny, she has such a love for God and His word and it's evident when I hear her talk, she gets through to me. her passion is so inspiring. she is happy and you can see it. Beth's studies are WONDERFUL!! I have completed 5 or 6 and have went to hear her speak and she definitely brings a Word into the place. I don't know what study you are doing but I think my favorite one was Breaking Free which was the first on I completed.

nogogma: now, I understand about the caution for some who preach the Gospel, however, in this case you have her all wrong. Beth Moore is a Woman of God, she teachers the Word of God with integrity and honey, there's nothing imaginary about my Jesus! Try Him and get to know HIM.
Fine if you're convinced he isn't imaginary then do this. Ask him to appear to you and see what happens. IF you ask in his name he will do it right? If that doesn't work, get with another believer and both of you ask. If he still doesn't appear to you then you have just proved Jesus is imaginary. I used to believe in Jesus for a long time too. Sharnelle, I've read those verses many times when I believed just like you believe and convinced myself it was God speaking to me. You need to start questioning the so called "word of god" and realize that it is not the word of God. It is the words of men. Why don't you read the book of Deuteronomy sometime and read it very slowly and carefully, then ask yourself is this really inspired by a God. Do yourself that big favor.
I have read Deuteronomy many times, as it outlines the seriousness of sin - that it separates us from the will of God. I will say finally that it's your choice to believe what you want to believe. But whatever you believe I hope it gives you rest at night, peace throughout the day and a hope for the future.
I don't think you've read Deut with any amount of close scrutiny. If you did you would see that it is not the word of God. As for sin? it's just a primitive myth fabricated out of fear, superstition and for the purpose of controlling peoples minds who are to gullible to see it for the farce it really is. About the only thing that keeps me up at night is drinking to much coffee during the day. Other than that, my mind has been totally emancipated from the superstition you believe in.

I am sorry you have lost your faith. What they eyes can't see , the spirit can feel. He has shown Himself in my life too many times for me to ever test him and ask Him to appear. well, i don't know the whole story about brian "head" welch and how he "found god". sure it was shocking when i first heard it, but i don't think he "asked jesus into his heart".
if you've done as many as he has (or i have, for that matter), over time you start seeing a connection between how people interact, and how it connects to something bigger. that "something bigger" isn't god himself as christians see god, but a truly god-like force that we as humans propel, not some man in the sky.
Your right alot of people do look to something bigger, they find what they want to believe is the answer. Some people find the TRUTH, the one true God. This world is crazy, we are always searching for peace in our souls. The only way to get that peace is to ask Jesus into your heart. God isn't "some man" in the sky, He is God of the universe!!! Beth Moore's speech is not the issue here---I haven't listened to it yet, and I'm not really into her, anyway. You want proof, but the only proof you'll accept is your own ability to reason. You will never come to understand what faith is if live under the delusion that mankind's brain has all the answers. You don't want proof, just a fight. If you are not willing to accept that there is a higher authority than your own brain, you stay blind to the reality of the God who made you in the womb.
And who made God? Don't tell me he came from nothing or has just always been. If there is a God (which I believe there is just not in the form that humans percieve him) Then someone or something had to put him/it there.
He doesn't have the same limitations as humans---ultimately, you will have to concede that SOMETHING was there before life began. Yet you can claim you know what God wants for you and what he doesn't want. If something as extreme as God is to exist( which I do belive does) You have to have an explanation as to how it got there period. Since enough time was spent on how this place was apparently made.
I claim that because He has given me faith enough to be able to find Him. If you want proof that God exists, try, honestly, to ask Him yourself for that proof. If you really want to know the truth about love, He will show it to you. It's not hard to find if you really try to understand Him. It's a good starting point to believe that God exists. If you're trying to find Him from getting proof by conversations, you'll never find the God who wants a relationship with you. Go find Him---don't take my word for it.
Just be patient. If you just try to seek out the truth, and not only truth that you want to accept because of tangible proof, but approach it with a child's heart and submit to God---ask Him what truth He can reveal to you---I promise you, it will come to you. "For He is willing that none should perish, but all have eternal life". I would have to say that it is inevitably misguided, because we are humans with very minimal IQ's and thinking capacity, how could we claim that we found a one true god. I can't convince you of that principle. Only people who find God will know Him, and the truth is hidden from those who trust in themselves or their supposed superior intellect. I believe she has been and is called by God to teach women from her own life experiences and straight from the Word of God! Anyone who wants to call her 'stupid' or put her down, I just feel sorry for them because they are missing a blessing. Beth is funny, she has such a love for God and His word and it's evident when I hear her talk, she gets through to me. her passion is so inspiring. she is happy and you can see it. Fine if you're convinced he isn't imaginary then do this. Ask him to appear to you and see what happens. IF you ask in his name he will do it right? If that doesn't work, get with another believer and both of you ask. If he still doesn't appear to you then you have just proved Jesus is imaginary. I used to believe in Jesus for a long time too. You need to start questioning the so called "word of god" and realize that it is not the word of God. It is the words of men. Why don't you read the book of Deuteronomy sometime and read it very slowly and carefully, then ask yourself is this really inspired by a God. Do yourself that big favor.

I have read Deuteronomy many times, as it outlines the seriousness of sin - that it separates us from the will of God. I will say finally that it's your choice to believe what you want to believe. But whatever you believe I hope it gives you rest at night, peace throughout the day and a hope for the future.

I agree, but it also does not mean God is not there, just because we cant see Him. I get it though, You do not want there to be a God, so there is no God, to you. It is a choice. For me it takes a lot more faith to not believe, than to believe. Truth is truth whether you believe it or not, and you have to discover truth, you cant just believe what you want to. well, i don't know the whole story about brian "head" welch and how he "found god". sure it was shocking when i first heard it, but i don't think he "asked jesus into his heart".
if you've done as many as he has (or i have, for that matter), over time you start seeing a connection between how people interact, and how it connects to something bigger. that "something bigger" isn't god himself as christians see god, but a truly god-like force that we as humans propel, not some man in the sky.

Evolution is simply death of creatures who can't survive changes of climate on the earth. It doesn't follow that because bones look similar that they magically 'change' into new creatures by some Jedi Force power that we don't understand. Maybe that 'missing link' in the religion of evolution is God. species evolve the same way car designs do: to improve performance and survivability in changing times, and changes are often so subtle that it can take millions of years before a visibly noticeable change occurs.

btw, i know car designs have to go through endless board meeting blah blah blah if you want to split hairs with me over a basic analogy, be my guest. but the important thing--the principle--is just what you said: "death of creatures who can't survive changes of climate on the earth". but you forgot a crucial thing about evolution.

because if we really did start as micro-organisms billions of years ago, as a few basic strains of bacteria, wouldn't it make sense that as they traveled, their bodies would find the best way to be comfortable whichever way they went? because if their comfort was limited to one specific environment they couldn't survive long enough to get us to this point? to simply say it's just "death of creatures who can't survive changes of climate on the earth" is only half the equation

I can't convince you of that principle. Only people who find God will know Him, and the truth is hidden from those who trust in themselves or their supposed superior intellect. God has shown me---this is not 'blind faith' here---that He is real. I've emailed Fragile89 all of the things He's shown me, and I can't see that it made a difference in what he believes. The reason for that is only God can change a man's heart. There are many gods---money, prestige, health---but only one true God.

in mine, god is a collective consciousness of everything we come into contact with on earth/in the universe, based around what we manifest through our thoughts (from art to science to basic interactions etc). so basically WE are all part of god, like cells to an organism.
from reading your posts, it seems to me you have a similar belief, but keep referring to "one true god", as if it was someone beyond us. beyond our understanding maybe, but not us.

I believe that God upholds all life---that He still plays a part of it. But He has spoken to me---so clear that I stopped walking to listen. (and I've never taken drugs or had mental issues). So I know He is more than energy or an unseen force---He is an individual intellect. I can't convince you, but this does support the God of the Bible.

i think i understand what you mean, and maybe you see/hear/know something i don't, but how exactly does that "support the God of the Bible"? where is that written?
and the book of matthew contains passages of human/animal and human/human relations, and how if one group were to disappear, the whole system would collapse. before i read the bible, i put 2 and 2 together on the subject WHILE HIGH ON MUSHROOMS. either matthew was smart, or high. either way, it works for me. maybe not you, but ...

but if feelings of the heart have to originate as thought, then doesn't that really mean that only a MAN can change his OWN heart?
remember, my basis of "god" is based around the principle that we manifest our world and what happens in it through our thoughts, which means we are all (a part of) god. this is shaman principles 101 (where many christian values have been borrowed).
try some psychedelics, see if your view is altered a touch.

Are psychedelics how you get in touch with your god? I was doing reading on shamanism, meditation, buddhism, hinduism---they all center on freeing your mind of thoughts and you can be your own god and allow spirits to speak to you---same as satanic occult practices where you invite demons to speak to you. No thanks.

and no, psychedelics are not how i get in touch with my god; they just opened my mind to the world as a whole, and made me realize how closed-minded and ignorant i really was.
psychedelic comes from the word psyche (of the mind, body, and spirit). we all have a psyche, it's what we choose to do with it that makes the difference

No, there is a risk of losing self-control with Eastern mediation---the religions that practice it warn you about that. I think it's called the Kundahli Arousal or something similar. Scary stuff---doesn't seem very holy to me. Godly spirits won't visit you at your beck and call---just evil ones. God will speak to you, but not at your bidding and terms. But demons speak to you whenever you invite them so they can harm you. Stop mediation and start praying, using active conversation.

you think i haven't seen people fuck their lives up because of drugs? of any kind?
i take shrooms about once a year, not every weekend like most people i know, and consume much less also. i've only taken acid twice (it was ok, nothing special), and i once tried a research chem called DOI, which opened my mind to a lot of new concepts, and has little to no side effects.
"Godly spirits won't visit you at your beck and call", no, and i work harder every day to keep demons at bay.

and you can give me advice if you want, i don't mind, but don't tell me what to do. if this is because of my "try some psychedelics" comment, i must have underemphasized my sarcasm. there was a touch of seriousness to it, because your "talking to God" experience is as ignorant to me as my drug use is as ignorant to you, since never having tried any drugs (other than what pfizer says is ok) you can't see what i have seen, and vise versa.
do you really want to keep butting heads over this forum?
