JEEZ! This is the FAMICOM DISK SYSTEM version, NOT the NES version. It's possible to have different glitches for different systems. (I know the Famicom is the Japanese NES)

The way I always understood it, the American -1 was like a test/debug stage for the underwater levels so they could have testers loop it over and over to see what glitches/problems still existed with the underwater-mechanic that they needed to adress. Of course, this might just be another internet rumor. Anyways, the point I am getting at, is what purpose do they serve on the super awesome Famicom disk drive?

@cowscrazy This isn't a hack. The European and American Minus Worlds looped back to the start. It was different In Japan, In Japan It had more to it and different levels for the Minus World.

This is the Famicom version, the version you're thinking of is the NES version. Famicom version has different minus world levels, think that's the only difference though.

Hey peole, for the Negetive world trick (because ive seen so many failed attempts)

When you "Jump" through the pipe. your supposed to break the first 2 bricks to the left (but not the one on the far right) and then stand on the FAR EDGE of the pipe and then jump backwards

The Minus World is a project world like 2-1, 1-4 and 1-2. It's been called the "Minus World" because of the secret ability through the 1-2 exit. The way to get there is to dodge and jump, and Mario will slide through the wall. You transport though the pipe. There you will see Bowser (headless) and multiple copies of Princess Toadstool. It has been known also as "World 36".
