  • I love this song and video but I'll always be reminded of the In Living Color comedy skit that made fun of her dancing called "Rhythmless Nation" lol

  • Absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love whitters forever! other artisits could learn a thing or two from this original DIVA!!!!!!!! Love this song!!!!

  • Can u really compare this amazing video, song and performance to her latest Million Dollar Bill?????Didn't think so...

  • U mean? hehe.. elaborate.. :) ouh, i love whitney too alongsides celine. Their voices go straight to the heart i tell ya.. :P

  • A classic pre-crack Whitney track.

  • 80's and 90's videos make me laugh....except Michael Jackson, he was way ahead of his time.

  • TRUE !!

  • really nice memoriable song of uk chart as well as college

  • I love teh song!The beatin the voice...the lyric!Amazing!

  • I love this song and video

  • 80's/ 90's dancers are so funny now...!

When I first saw this video and stuff like CC Music factory It was so cool but looking now it makes me smile.....ahhhh the 80's and 90's....awesome.

  • She rocks!

  • love U Whitney :*

  • Oh man.....I love how Whitney copied Michael Jackson in so many ways....the thirties themed night club, the dance moves, the Smooth Criminal white suit, the white socks and back loafers, even his trademark vocal falsetto (or 'hiccup')....wow, way to go Whitney! Two of my fave singers..together with a great song, LOVE IT!

  • Except this video came out seven months before smooth criminals... so who capoied who?

  • Actually, the Smooth Criminal music video came out in 1988 with Michael's movie "Moonwalker". Ms. Houston's video came out in 1990. Even the Michael's "Speed Demon" music video is borrowed from here. So yeah...she copied him. Not that that's a bad thing..I love Whitney and Michael both!

  • In an interview about the debut of that album, she said that he touched her music in so many ways, she had to send a thank you in one of her videos.....

But yes, two in one...like the peanut butter and jelly in one jar....mmmmmmm

  • Thank you for agreeing! They are truly phenomenal performers....both of them!

  • Um no... When she was dressed in the black outfit with loafers, it was in homage to Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face". Tthe video was a tribute to Hollywood's golden age.

  • I agree with that....but the white socks and black loafers are Michael's thing. Totally! Also...the part where she's singing in a trio with feather boas and sparkling dresses...a Diana Ross and the Supremes moment if I ever saw one! :D

  • not the funny face .......the fedora....

  • is she really riding that motorcycle.......or is that a stunt double?

  • Amazing song, amazing video, breath-taking vocals.

I've always thought that Christina Aguilera's "Candyman" video borrowed heavily from this video, with the three figures of each respective artist in a different outfit performing synchronized choreography. Never heard anyone point it out though, and cleary Whitney did it originally (and 17 years before, as well.)

  • Too bad only a few videos back then were filmed in HD 16:9 format... that square looking video is, well square....

  • It's not about the sexiness, it's about the voice and her's tops them all in tone and character. She sings so effortlessly and doesn't belt for the hell of it

  • Now THAT is a great video! Haven't heard this song since I was a kid.

  • Whitney is the BEST!!! Voiced cracked or not, I love her!!! She can sing anything and blow the hell out of it on her worst day and get a standing ovation!!! EVERY Time!!!!

  • if you are talking about her voice in GMA performance.. you can tottaly hear it that she was sick there

  • this was my fave song from this album

  • god can that girl sing or what, we need a comeback bad.

  • did this come out in 86 or 88? I don't remember

  • This song came out in 1990.

  • classic whitney...enough said!

  • notice how she doesn't use her sexuality to sell music bcos she has real talent unlike the female artists nowadays.

  • So true. I think that is what has always set Whitney apart from Mariah and Janet--even though both Mariah and Janet eventually became sexy (Mariah with "Honey" 1997) and (Janet with "Janet." 1993).

  • Yeah, The only time I saw whitney wearing a sexy outfit was when she sang It's Not Right But It's Okay at the 1999 Soul Train Music Awards.

  • weh63: Mariah did not become sexy, she became a slut with no class, but expensive shoes and fake boobs. Janet did not have to try that as hard as Mariah. Oh yeah, If Whitney did not have personal problems, Mariah could not make it over 90s.

  • that´s exactlly what i always think and why i adore whitney so much!

  • Very True.

  • I agree.

  • My mom use to play this song all the time when I was little I was 6 years old.Back in the 90s Whitney houston,Toni Braxton,Michael Jackson,Janet Jackson,Baby Face the list gose on they & along with many others ran the music biz......

  • she was beauty here...she still is... :)

  • All artists copy...no one's 100% original except Michael Jackson.....lol....NO ONE ELSE!

  • agreed.. but mj did and has admitted borrowing from james brown....

  • fine girl!!!

  • MY FAVORITE SONG BY WHITNEY

  • madonna copied whitney's white suit and cane for her music video with britney!!! including the cane!

  • yes sure... and Whitney copied from Marlene Dietrich.

I can´t roll my eyes any more...

    Wake up!

  • This was the song in 1990! It was one of my favorites!

  • its a cute video. whitney was/is great

  • She looks really beautiful in all the clothes she puts on.

    She dances so well.

Oh Whitney I love you so much.

  • She looks really dashing in that white suit...She's wonderful.......

  • uuhhmmm.. this is a remix, i guess...

  • This was the only album version, the original video version, and the one and only radio version. Call it whatever you like.

I'm not even sure where all of those other versions came from (I never heard any of them back in 1990), but I'm sure Babyface cringes every time he hears one of those clueless hacks butchering his masterpiece.

  • ummm.. i thought the original version was the one with the piano parts in it. I have never even heard of this version till now. I got the album back then and this song was not like that. also wasn't the video verson on MTV

  • WHITNEY, COME BACK!

  • Never realized it until a couple of years ago, but the scene at 2:49 is from the movie "Funny Face" starring Audrey Hepburn. Thought it was cool how they took so many genres throughout the years and incorporated them into this video. Great video! Saw it when I was a kid, still love it!

  • I think this was a tribute to past performers. Love the video and concept!!

  • I miss you whitney !!!

  • i love this song so much love you whitney!!!!!!!!!!

  • I miss her too :'(....

  • All the old days and thinking back. My god, what happened to her... O.o

    It's terrible.

  • I miss Whitney.

  • ahhhh yes the BB (before bobby) years...classic

  • Here talent is still unmatched even though it's plenty of singers out here with beautiful voices. Whit come Back!!

  • Whitneyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I love you forever.

  • now this is amazing whitney, not the crap she put out later in her career, sorry whitney fans. just being honest. like mariah their earlier stuff is awesome

  • love her original beyonce

  • Amazing song.

  • tis song is so sensual.....

    the beat and whitney's voice

    really makes someone high.....

    whitney.........i will always love you............

by the way, whitney was so cute when her hair was long.

  • My favorite Whitney song.

  • This song is spirited and even subtly sexy. You can't help but feel good when you hear this beat, and of course, Whitney's voice on this track is phenomenal!!!! Her voice is so smooth and strong, and she conveys great depth of emotion through it.

  • This is a true comeback single. Whitney was getting flack for being too pop. Can you imagine that? "Where do Broken hearts go" got booed on the Soul Train Awards a couple of years before this song. However, Babyface stamped the comeback with this. Whitney was beautiful and this was her most creative video to date!!!!

  • Actually this third album by Whitney didn't sell as well like her previous two. Not only that, but let's not forget (not trying to start a fight, their both great singers) Mariah Carey's debut was dominating the charts through out 1990 -1991 when Whitney release this one back in the day. You have to admit, Mariah gave Whitney a run for her money during that time. But Whitney made her biggest smash comback (& blew away everybody, lol!!) with of course the "Bodyguard" soundtrack.

  • To gunn15509, I am a fan of both. I love Mariah. Whitney was still a force to be dealt with in the early 1990s. I was buying Mariah and Whitney and torn between the two. It was like when Janet and Michael wouldn't release albums at the same time. Now, in today's market sales are sales. I admit that the Bodyguard shut everything down. It let Mariah know that Whitney was not down for the count.

  • Yeah, but then again after the low sales of I'm Your Baby Tonight, Whitney made a huge comeback via The Bodyguard Soundtrack and won all the categories she was nominated in, beating Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Janet Jackson (well except for the grammy nomination for best r&b female which was won by janet for thats the way love goes)

  • She was just her zone right here..

  • LOL at 3:10 !

  • This was Before she did drugs

  • I prefer this version over the remix. Love the video.

  • This is the best version of this song-more fast paced and clear. Thanks for putting this up!

  • i know the second movie is dream girls and the third is funny Face but the first one ???

  • I'm not sure, but I think she's supposed to be portraying Marlena Dietrich, if that helps.

  • Yuck, she look way too much like her ugly cousin Dionne Warwick. But the song is cool.

  • as much as I despise this bitch, I love this song & video......

  • MyronClare- Same here,I don't like Cruella either but I do like many of her early songs, especailly from the 80's.

  • great

  • this one is clearer than the other whitney videos question does any body knows the name of first video of whitney houston when she first came out and she had a short fro or bald i think. i cant think of to save my life

  • You give good love was her 1st video. And she was bald on the cover of her debut album.

  • she wasn't bald, her hair was slicked back

  • .I love this song.! SO MUCH

  • are you nuts?

  • Go ahead on gurlll!

  • Why'd they call her "Nippy"?

  • This kinda sounds like the intro to the x-men song.

  • one of my favorite Whitney songs.

  • I love that video ...Classic!!!..You go Whitney Houston!!!!!
