I just got done with a sociology class, and the textbook was full of anti-American and anti-capitalist view points. We would not have achieved so much as a nation if it weren't for the free market. Lisa Fithian isn't terribly effective in OWS, since I haven't seen any images of protesters with conveniently taped-on, slung-on signs being quietly marched away while being chased by overeager reporters. Here's what I have seen: camera feed from Oakland shutting off as tear gas is fired and a picture of a police officer petting a cat on the front page of the Washington Post the day after. I'm not as concerned about Lisa Fithian manipulating the media as the media itself.

@RGMerkel I decided to home school my youngest son for the reason u brought up. my older son has had to fight against this type of teacher since 7th grade. he's opted to stay in school but I can't tell u how many time I've had to call a teacher or the school due to a book or ideology his teachers were promoting that was seemingly anti-American or anti-capitalist. It's not that people don't have a right to feel the way they want to feel but not promote it in the public funded classrooms.
