@anaranjadoX375 The difference is, it's digital, and mainly used as a controller/interface for your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Notice how the software faders on the right screen are doing exactly what the hardware faders are doing. It also allows you to transfer all of your external instruments into your computer.

whats the difference between the M - Audio Project mixer and any other mixing console on the market? Is the M - Audio Project mixer only for recording? Will a L2000 samson 20 ch mixer do the same as the M - Audio Project mixer ?

@anaranjadoX375 it can server as both ur pre-amp as well as a interface so yhea u can use it either for vocals or production, well worth the money!

@anaranjadoX375 the project mix is not a MIXER its  CONTROL SURFACE/INTERFACE COMBO . THIS IS ESSENTIALLY a fancy mouse with ad conversion

@darrenguitar funnily as long as you have pro tools open or any other daw, with record enabled on all tracks. you can actually use it as a mixer feeding the stage main without having to record anything, and you could also make 3 different stage monitoring with it with effects on.. I've done it myself.
