  • What was the microwave oven used for? Were they killing the other bacteria present in the agar first?

  • @suretobringskills probably making agar?

  • Google Grows Everyday,

  • This is the BEST Slam

  • @google I looked on the ''change background'' option but i can't find ''editor's pick'' or this image.

I tried searching with Google, igoogle, slam, ecoli, ecolio, living google...

    Nothing works.

Could you tell us how to find it? at least its name?

  • "editor's picks" is gone :( i can't find this

  • thats so cool!

  • Wait.. all of that.. for a background? lol

  • @Shakeitupyes GOOGLE HAS A PLACE its all over the web so get use to it.

  • @Shakeitupyes wow..you're gay...did you know google owns youtube..!?

  • @2Bitter2bSweet Google owns you.

  • @mooman219 oh you jealous now?

  • @2Bitter2bSweet Little bit yeah >.<

  • SLAM!!!

  • so did the bacteria know to grow in the shape of the google letters or did you make the shape yourself?

    sorry, i'm just a sophomore in h.s.

  • @Zander101084 They basically "drew" the Google logo with a sterile Q-tip onto the agar with the 5 different colors of live bacteria. Initially, the bacteria will grow in the general shape you drew it, but if you let it incubate too long you can have overgrowth and your result wont be as clear. I've done tests similar to this with E. coli on m-FC agar making a Seattle Seahawks logo and it came out great! You would know this if you were Facebook friends with me! haha

  • 0:05 ADMIT IT YOU THOUGHT HE WAS BANGING A CHICK :D

  • 0:06 ADMIT IT YOU THOUGHT HE WAS BANGING A CHICK :D

  • I can't stand bio/chem but this was really cool.

  • @fighter91 man yall are easily victim to deception, this is what makes science evil, this is what gives honest "for the better of mankind" science a bad name.

  • @wasupniinja ??? What the hell are you talking about? I simply said that I dislike Biology and Chemistry, never said I dislike science as a whole. Mind you, I love Physics and I'm currently majoring in Electrical Engineering in a university. Before you make dumbass judgments, think about what you say..

    P.S.

People are such cuntbags on Youtube....

  • @fighter91 This statement is so retarded...

  • @FloppyBaby How is it retarded you fucking cunt?

  • This is what makes science fun.

  • Ofcourse scientists have nothing better to do...

  • Check out this science fiction novel. BLACK STELLA R WARS. only $1.00 to down load it! CLICK ON 1111113381 BELOW.

  • funny

  • I can't believe that the "Google" image grew out so sharply from simply plating. Clayton must have the steadiest hands on earth and those bacteria were very cooperative! i thought for sure you would have used UV light to kill the bacteria to create a "google" logo. Good job guys

  • slam is for monkeys by that i mean black coons

  • This seems almost Lamarckian!

  • Whoa. Google is radioactive!

  • LIES THERE IS NO BUTTON ON THE LOWER LEFT HAND CORNER!

  • @Killer91109 its only on chrome

  • Do they have other colored glowy proteins besides GFP? Would have been cooler to make the bacteria inherently colored than to just dye them.

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!! i wont one 1 love 0:83

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!! i wont one

  • @Google Why you use Macbooks and Apple computers if you guys have Chrome Notebooks, It's absurd how you have in each and every google Demo Slam video an Apple Machine!, At least use Linux!

  • @thehackman888 i totally agree.

  • @WinterSina Spread the word

  • @Google you never said what kinda medium was used was it just nutrient broth used or was it a specific medium ? love the idea of it !! are you planning on tackling any more big internet names now ? lol

  • @jigsaw2006 theres a description. read it

  • microbiology triumps again!

  • 13 people can't spell microbiology

  • @JosephGubbels I would like to know that too...

  • @r0gAAzAk Go to "Change Background" in the lower left hand corner of "Google" and choose "Editor's Picks". It should be one of the first ones :)

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want that background image!!!!

  • yo i want tht image!

  • haha fun! ^^

  • 0:07 OMG Dumbledore if extracting his memories?!

  • I WANT THT PICTURE TO BE MY GOOLGE BACKGROUND PIC!!

  • Awesome, just awesome !

  • COOL at 1st I was like was this got to do with the Internet now I'm like ha awesome

  • Totaly AWESOME

  • Freaking cool!

  • Gawd

  • Cool !

  • I want that picture as my background!

  • You know your a geek when you think growing bacteria in the shape and colour of the google logo is cool.

  • @antastic3 You know you're a Neanderthalic philistine when you cannot appreciate the wonders of science or the immense utility of the internet.

  • @tsimon1234 Think you miss read my message im calling myself a geek and saying the video is cool! Neanderthalic philistine was a bit harsh would have been funny if it wasnt directed at me though. touche

  • @antastic3 Haha! Sorry man, I totally misunderstood you. My bad. :P

  • Det er god

  • it wasnt good

but it looks its good cus all others suck

    :)

  • hahaha great!

  • Woah!

  • Finally a scientific Google demo slam

  • Is that background image available publicly? I know some who might want to use it.

  • Finally a good slam after all those bad ones

  • I want these guys job.

  • nice

  • Great work.

  • cool...

  • this is revolutionary!

  • Google hat definitiv zu viel Geld, das die mit so einem völlig überflüssigen Kram sich die Zeit vertreiben! xD aber lustig ist es...;)

  • ur awesome. A break from normal routine . Great slam !!!

  • This would be even cooler if GFP and GFP variant expressing bacteria were used to create a fluorescing Google.

  • 1:22 It looks like that is the doodle on the google homepage, but I check the doodle history for 2011, and this doesn't appear anywhere.

  • @JosephGubbels no. you have to sign in, then at the bottom-left there is a 'change background' feature that does this.

  • @JosephGubbels you can customise the background with any picture you want

  • How did they control the pattern the bacteria grew into?

  • @JosephGubbels Looks like the logo is on the dish and they simply placed the colored bacteria over the right letter.

  • @JosephGubbels my bet is they type google whit some bacteria(the source from where other baceteria replicate) so when they grow they grow around google word, because (most)bacteria divides itself and dont travel around in a way that ppl can manipulate

  • @JosephGubbels It looks like they someone carved the Google logo into the nutrient agar and then smeared the colored samples around the logo.

  • SLAM!

  • But will it blend ?

  • That's awesome!

  • Google is God

  • That was AWESOME!

  • I Lol'd. I wonder how long till someone calls this fake.
