I saw the original movie first. Liked it, but fell in love with the original tv series, La Femme Nikita. There was a depth and beauty to the series that can't be beat by the wannabes (Nikita and Alias). Yes, there was a certain rawness to the movie, but LFN will always be my favorite.
anything that would follow a masterpiece such as the original LFN is bound to fall short. However, if someone throws $ at you because of something that touched them so profoundly that three (YEAH THREE) separate and crappy remakes have been filmed has got to be a compliment. so whatever, if i got offered a shitload of dough, id let people have my story over, and over, and over..... BTW, the series was really lame. Get some culture. Watch the original, with subtitles.
I haven't seen anything that can live up to the original Nikita...eversince, we've had Point of No Return, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Alias, La Femme Nikita (television series), Covert Affairs...not necessarily in that order. I like all of them except for the tv show and Point of No Return, but none have really captured the essence of the original...not really.
This trailer couldn't be any worse. It takes all of the great aspects of the film and trivializes them. It completely ignores the tremendous excitement that the film generates in every area: in plot, in character development, in pacing. Usually a good trailer gives hints of a film's strengths. Most often it does so by picking out one strength and pushing it. This one seems to want people not to see the film. Interesting.
@ Spyke9124 sorry for the late answer, I think she considered Bob more like the only strong male presence in her 'closed' universe and it was like an Oedipian love, after she left her 'confinement'; she felt in love with a real guy, and Bob became like a father she loves/hates
Please remember that in all creative work, even trailers, there is an element of collaboration. And that sometimes studios and releasing companies have very different ideas about what will sell the film. There was a better trailer prepared (IMHO) but this is what got finished.
@qmoongb I disagree. I think this trailer has a feeling of perfect style of deadly beauty of the past time. I only wish that movie makers could make story lines as good as this movie
It's got lots of mood. But I can't stand that screechy girl. And Eric Serra will never be the composer Hans Zimmer is. Zimmer's score for Point of No Return is one of the best he's ever done.
Well...to be fair, the TV show was just as good as this movie respectfully and that was a French-Canadian production mind you. Just saying....you know what I mean?
I remember seeing this film as a kid, I enjoyed it then and 15 years later, it's still a favorite of mine! Eric Serra does a fantastic job with the music, and of course anyone who doesn't like Luc Besson is a complete fag!
isn't there a tv series called nikita in channel 39 the cw? how many did they make?

I find that if you saw the movie first, you do't like the series....and visa versa. Each have their own following.

What is the song in the beginning?
bojanglesk88 2 years ago
@bojanglesk88
The song is called "The Free Side", it's taken from the movie soundtrack by Eric Serra, great composer of all of Luc Besson's movies.

True and Amen to that.
I think composers respects one another.

This is a masterpiece.
Why in Hell did Hollywood make a remake which was bound to be inferior ??... and undermine this original work of genius ?
