When I was playing VS mode with my friend in Mario Kart DS, I was in 1st place and got a Blue Spiny Shell, and I was thinking, "all right, I'm about to figure out the answer to CommanderSpongebob's question!" And ZyroCrystal was right. It actually does hit yourself. I found that out the hard way.

Well, in Mario Kart 64, blue spiny shells heatseek the middle of the track, hitting anyone who's in the middle of the track, dissapearing after hitting the 1st place guy. Kinda like MKDS's Bullet bill. Actually, I think the Bullet bill is the reason that the blue spiny shells now have wings and explode on the 1st place guy.

Having the emulator is not the only way to do this. I used to have this cheat on my gameshark for the 64. All you did was load the gameshark cartridge, put the mario kart game on top of that, enable the spiny shell cheat, and bam you had it in the game. I also had a cheat for infinite stars. Ahhh the memories.
