Only heard 2 Furslide songs, this and "Over my head" from the Buffy soundtrack. This song is cleverly written with some chord changes, I found it repeatedly going through my head the other day
I interviewed Jen Turner for an Australian music magazine when this came out as it got some play on the national alternative radio station here. She was my first international interview - I'm pretty sure she was in Sweden at the time over the phone. I always wondered what became of her and Furslide as I only ever heard this - and couldn't believe it didn't become a hit - great song. I've got a promo copy of the single, but my computer won't recognise it for some dumb reason!!!
holy crap i so wanted to be jennifer turner when i was 12! Furslide were there for me when no one else was :D shallow is the best song to listen to on full vol. when you're annoyed at someone ahahha :D
Damn, I bought this like 10 yrs. ago because of the artwork and loved it. Was waiting for more and she took a dump. Thought for sure another cd would come out. It was like a disappointing beautiful relationship.
I got this cd for like a dollar, I couldn't believe they were so good when I listened to it. And I can't believe they didn't make it furder. Maybe the were poorly represented. We see worse bands on MTV.
I bought this Cd because i like your fotografic... It's so cool.. and after I love the songs... very much.
comprei esse Cd num sebo, quando estava voltando da escola, comprei porque gostei da capa do disco... e adorei as musicas pena que depois eu vi que a banda acabou..
This was a great record, I remember totally digging it. I think Jen is a free spirit, not given to staying locked into one thing, that's why Furslide didn't go on longer. I admire her a lot. She's too creative for this music biz nonsense!
Jennifer Turner is really an amazing guitarist...too bad that her shot at a lead role was so fleeting. but her work with Natalie Merchant is really amazing, as is this album. I await a comeback!!!
She is dedicated to Joseph Arthur & The lonely Astronauts, a good thing. I guess she likes being a wallflower and doing what she loves for a living. Playing guitar! BTW, nobody wants to see Merchant without the band. 10k fans don`t listen to elevator music. Nor do they want Oskar. My understanding is Merchant has dedicated her current life to raising her baby(s)? Whatever. Babies are cool if you don`t own one. Anyway, Jenny is a Godess. She could plug in anywhere.
damm!!! I was searching for this for about.... 9 years! I've listen to this song just once, and just a bit, on the radio... tried to catch the name but no luck. Now I finally got it! =)
oh man what a great song... i remember listening to them when i was in 6th grade on the buffy soundtrack and looking for the c.d. but since it was 2001 it was a couple years out of print. i just ordered it for 1 cent on amazon! lol i cant believe it.
There is another version of this video... I saw that different version at the time... In that version which i'm talking about she's on the gronud dead, there is an ambulance... Find it please!!!
Thanks for adding this. "I" discovered her with Natalie Merchant. Her SNL performance/guitar solo made me take serious notice. I own Adventurer. I'm going to buy some Inner from CD baby. Love her.
Wow! Is Jennifer Turner really your cousin? I was just watching/listening to a video where she plays a fantastic lead guitar on "Wonder" with Natalie Merchant on a Saturday Night Live show. Gave me goosebumps all over my body :) Jennifer rocks!!!
@dyslexicklye please tell your cousin that she can (and I hope will) ditch joseph arthur because her talent on guitar and vocals far surpass anything arthur has done or will ever do. at least with 10,000 maniacs she got exposure and supported a fine singer in natalie merchant. please use your influence to get her own band and finally let her awsome talent shine!
@smock66 She did. Check out "Here We Go Magic", Jen's new band. I just saw them at bonnaroo this past week and they're great. She isn't the lead vocalist, but her talent is matched by some solid and very friendly musicians. Tunnelvision is probably their best song. I hope you like them!
@dyslexicklye I checked out Magic and liked it. I hope some day she can play 6-string with them instead of bass but if she's happy...I'm happy! thanks. smock66
Saw them in live in first part of Alanis Morissette several years ago.... i thought they were going to become a great band !
