  • . . . wow, these folks can sure dance. Just amazing the way they move together.

  • interesting how we see more syllabus steps in the open category during the old days we dont see that much syllabus steps or timing now in the opens

  • wow, matthew and nicole cutler!

  • These are GREAT videos THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting them!!!

I'm 22 and have been dancing since I was 3 (1989) and it's fantastic to see the older videos up on YouTube... I was just watching with another friend who dances & we spotted our coach, couple 2, Chris Ryan & his partner Karen O'Brian (Australia)... It was great to see them dancing at their best.

Hysterical to watch the fashion of the costumes, corrie & styling change over most of the dances... Please post more!!!

    Thanks :o) Lauren

  • Paso Doble!

    I love it!

  • I love this

  • Cool video. thanks.

  • You're very welcom! Please also have a look at the other parts of video of this competition.

  • Amazing how Dancesport has changed, even since 1995. The videos of 1983 are incredible, My partner and I don't do most of those steps! Much more work done with the hips etc now, and smaller, more detailed movements. Do you dance yourself?

  • Hi, thanks for your comment, and question. I danced in the past and had lessons of a variety of teachers including Ralf Lepehne and Ruud Vermeij. At Ruud's school we were having lessons alongside Louis van Amstel and Julie Fryer, and also Ralf and Olga Müller, and other top couples.

I will be adding even more 'historical' videos in the near future. Have fun!

  • Did you realy had lessons from Julie Fryer?

She is definetly the greatest dancer in the world and she makes beautiful cheografies

  • Haha, no... my partner and I joined special group lessons at Ruud Vermeij's studio in the early '90, and one of the other couples was Louis and Julie. Great times and we all learned a lot ;-)
