@kawboyracing1 The Ford Racing heads, as in GT40-X aluminum heads I'll assume... Versus the cast production GT40... the GT40-X heads are lighter, flow better and have bigger valves. The cast iron produced GT40 (93-95 Cobra) are better than factory E5, E6 and E7 heads (85-95 GT & LX) but not as good as the Ford Racing X heads. It's all about money really, and if you are going the budget route, or if you are able and skilled to port, etc... Cast GT40 heads are ok cheap heads.

your t5 has a 3.35 1st gear. with 4.11 rear 1st gear is almost useless. with a good clutch you could launch in 2nd easy. light cars dont need deep gears like the old leadsleds. both my brothers ran lots of stangs in the past with 3.55 to 3.90. if you decide to crank 450+hp with your 302, higher gears will also help with street manners. the higher gear will calm down the snappy throttle response and when it hooks you take off like a shot. most guys i see at the tracks are are stuck with 3.73

The 5.0 Mustang that I just uploaded a couple days ago only runs a 13.6 and it has a few bolt-on mods, B-303 cam and 4.10 gears... so low 13's out of a stock Fox Mustang is total newbie blab.

@427fd No 100% bone stock Fox-Body will do low 13's ... the 93 Cobra only ran a low 14 and the 2,900lb. Notchback Coupes only ran a 14.1 from the factory. Maybe with Drag Radials, a short belt, no spare tire you might run a 13.8, but low 13's is LS1 territory dude.
