Good clip but if using a knife instead you can cut it out and use the remaining frame again so you don't have to buy an adapter.

I have a Gemplus sim and there is no plastic at the top. I know the real chip is in the center, not all the metallic part is important but... Should i follow the template and cut part of the top metallic thing or should i adjust it so the chip is in the center???

look people if you dont want to get fucked cut the sim a little bit larger than micro sim size and shave it down to the exact size with a nail file and just keep testing until you get it to fit into the tray

Hi, could someone explain why this is necessary?? Not wishing to be a dumbass, but probably am. I don't understand the need to do this??

I can just nip down to the local Phone Shop (UK) and get a "Three" Mobile Broadband for iPad sim for just £15 ($22) a month on a rolling month contract and get 10GB for my iPad. Why would I need to cut a regual Sim??

@Timilim85 It can be difficult because paper will interfere to make straight cut. So, if you want to become Guinness champion of fast cutting then u can cut without drawing :)

But for accurate cut I would suggest to draw lines on SIM card before cutting process.

@shadorius, as far as I know you can do this. The only problem can be to use original MicroSIM dedicated for iPAD with iPhone, because they block voice functionality on these iPAD microsims.

@gabivisualart, this can happen with some SIM cards. I had similar issue with Gemplus-made card during my experiments. Good news is that only 6 central pins are matter in SIM cards. All others parts of metal pins are not necessary. As to chip - it is so small that you can't damage it.

@gabivisualart, Especially for you, I cut one Gemplus SIM card completely - for photo take a look at the same link where template is available. As you can see, a lot of space is available. The only sensitive parts are crystal of IC, wires, and connection points to pins.
