I'm just recently playing this game, it's awesome and also interesting to see what the gameplay for Sonic might have been had it never gotten turned into the speedy platformer it is today it's nice to see that Sega and Sonic Team didn't just leave the original concept to die completely, anyways the game is awesome though its kind of hard I might lose all My continues on the Wii version and I'm going to hate using passwords. such an underrated game it was my very 1st mega drive game. granted i got it by mistake, i asked for the battle toads game but this little guy was in the case by mistake, i never returned it.

one of the best games i ever had the privilege of playing.

any one that owns a genesis or a mega drive (same thing ?) should own a copy of this game. Sega really needs to bring this guy back he deserves another chance.

In essence, the ideas of Ristar were loosely based on ideas that were thrown out during the development of "Sonic the Hedgehog 1." Nor was the idea of a rabbit completely abandoned, for it came back as Cream the Rabbit.

I was a tester at Sega when this game came out and was lucky enough to get the Lead Tester spot on this one. This was a hell of a great game - highly underrated, but definitely worthy of a top spot in the pantheon of great Genesis games! Possibly the best music of any non-Sonic game, too.

Hmm... I guess my nostalgia for this game is overwrought, since I wasn't actually the Lead Tester on it after all. :p I do recall being quite pleased to be one of the lucky people to test it, though. ;) It looks like any Sonic connections were to future Sonic titles, not the "classics". Still, whoever worked on it, they did a fantastic job. It's still one of the best "unknown" games out there.
