Rescue swimming is no joke. Comparing rescue swimmers to Delta is like comparing cops to firefighters. Both are brave in their own right and neither would likely be derisive toward the other.
They are alike only in that they are both the "tip of the spear." Rescue swimmers are just the tip of a different spear.
I saw first-hand the heroics of rescue swimmers during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I have nothing but the deepest respect.

Hold on Mr. ctbabers, the USCG rescue swimmer is asmuch a milatary man as a Navy SEAL. They deserve a lot much more than girls scouts! Last time i checked the USCG wasn't selling cookies, THEY WERE SAVING LIVES!!!
@knpdyeballarice Actually your half right. They are a US Armed Force but they are not under the DoD. It is a DoHS organization that is also capable of peace-time law enforcement.

As a retired CG helo rescue swimmer, I think the video is hilarious. Most of the swimmers I worked with probably found this clip to be just as funny. Besides, only an actual RS will truly know what it took to become one and what the job was really like. And if I am not mistaken there are a lot of videos and pics, etc. that make fun of Army, Navy, Marines and Airforce that you and those serviceman have laughed and joked about. Now there is one out about the Coast Guard and you have your balls all up in a bunch.

I would like to take this moment to thank the Navy. For getting married, then going a 6 month deployment. I will be ready and willing to comfort your wife in anyway she may need. God I love getting paid the same as a squid, and doing half the work.
