  • Ed Brown was a dick at shot show to weaponseducation, did you have a simialr experience?

  • @tatorsal

    no

  • Just out of curiosity what would a replacement barrel cost for one of these?

    Semper Fi

  • dear santa

  • Got to love the gun but it is go on a mantel.

  • imagine that in gold

  • Seriously, these guns are way too expensive. Ed Brown, Wilson, Nighthawk. For $2500 a pistol better manufacture it's own ammo. I don't care how it's made, there's no excuse. I love the 1911 but those makers are out of their minds.

  • @Noremorse10

sure, you could do better in your garage..

  • @Noremorse10 You could say the same thing about a Ferrari

  • @Noremorse10 What was it that P.T. Barnum said? Some of the work by the makers you mentioned is fairly impressive, but how they're able to command that kind of money is beyond reason. Sig Sauer makes a 1911 for roughly a third the price and is a way better value. Used custom maker 1911's sit on dealer shelves for years at a fraction of their new price. Kinda tells you something, doesn't it?

  • Cobra rocks.

  • Why does every guy who reviews a gun say "I have large hands" lol....stupid!

  • @jasosak

It must really bother people like you with small hands..

  • @GunWebsites more fun when it comes to doing some certain things lolol

  • too expensive for no reason, I love my Glock 30 shoots 45 rounds like a butter, hehe.

  • Everyone seems to be happy with the Ed Brown 1911's. Im very happy with mine as you can see in my videos.

  • I like that you don't snap down on the hammer or let the slide slam forward on an empty chamber.

And for all the Glock owners out there, yes, a Glock tends to be about as reliable as Toyota Camry... and it's just about as interesting.

  • @crispiegee1

"and it's just about as interesting."

very nice, I'm gonna steal that if you don't mind

  • @GunWebsites Hahaha... feel free to. :-)

  • @crispiegee1 sure, and is jamming on the last round in the magazine and resistance to feed jhp's and little better capacity than a revolver something you would classify as "interesting"? Glocks cost way less, are way more reliable.....PERIOD. I actually shoot my guns so i prefer a gun to function well no matter what, function is of greater value to me than looks, and I might add that i like the look of a glock just fine. Call me crazy but I look for a pistol to function properly 100% of the time

  • Wow I've been searching SO LONG for this Colt 1911 design! I wanna get this exact design only high shine chrome finish and black polymer side grip stocks.... *sigh*

  • Beautifully made pistol. I ordered one like a week ago and can't wait for it to get here.

  • Can the sights be replaced or removed for a quick draw, point shoot concealed carry function?

  • Buy a Glock and dodge all of these problems. Break in with a thousand rds !!!! That is a joke ! Kimber is laughing all the way to the bank.

  • @dmitry92203 no kidding i like 1911s but i hear shit about kimber. any gun that needs broken in is a vagina. ive put hundreds through my new glock 19 and never had a malfunction.

  • Love the wood on those grips.

  • i think colt .45s are by far sexier than Deagles

  • If our economy was stronger and I had a job--I would love NOTHING more than to support Ed Browns work and the legacy he has created in the 1911 design...But for me--My XDM based off the 1911 will put lead on target just as good as a 2000 dollar 1911 will...Bottom line for me is--a pistol uses iron sights and is used only for CQB as a secondary weapon--I just cant justify the cost right now...I was just telling my wife that I would LOVE to have one as a collector item one day--It really is sexy!

  • @Jeenyus1983

I look at them like nice cars.. they are great, but a bus can also get you around town in a pinch

  • @GunWebsites He, he, he...that is the wisest comment I have read on YouTube today. Even if I had the money to buy this gun, I just can't see spending $2000 on it. It almost seems like a waste of hard earned money.

  • @EL3minutero Well, there's more than enough people out there , including myselft willing to spend $2,000 or more on these type of guns. Otherwise Ed Brown, Bill Wilson, Les Baer, etc. wouldn't be in business.

  • @Jeenyus1983 XDM isn't based on the 1911, it has a grip safety. Its based on the Glock.

  • @Jeenyus1983 My question to you, as was asked to me recently is as follows; "Would you crawl through the mud with it?" I know that as a 1911 fan, and a fan of those VERY expensive and elite 1911's, I'd be to damn much of a sissy to throw my $2600+ 1911 in the mud or on the ground. God knows I want one though, kinda got a hankering for a Nighthawk T3 Comp!!!!!!!!!

  • I still want one.

  • Good job fucking up the hammer/sear connection. Riding the hammer down with you hand on a 1911, fucks it up. Just dry fire the gun, it won't hurt it.

  • This is what real men use. Not some mini pocket size handgun :P

  • thats a bad ass gun

  • as seen in resident evil 0

  • So Ed Brown, Baer, Wilson, and variety of other gun manufacturers make custom M1911s. And they usually sell for 2-3k. That's a lot of money just for one handgun. Are those custom M1911s really any better than say a Springfield or a Colt M1911?

  • @Delta094204 yes

  • I have a question in reguards to carrying a 1911. Is it possible for me to hold the hammer, pull the trigger and than slowly drop the hammer for carry? Or is my only option of carry in condition 1

  • @Wabaanimkii

It would not be safe to let the hammer ride down on a live round, and you wouldn't want to have to manually cock it before your first shot..

  • @Wabaanimkii Not to sound rude but what would be the point of that?

  • @Kopis1911 To not have a hammer catch on my clothes. I like 1911's but I prefer a SA/DA for any type of carry. It was just a question and the logic is present. Just not the proper tech to do so safely. I was trying to get ahold of sig and see if they would make a 1911 with P226 style controls on it . What do you think of the idea?

  • @Wabaanimkii Cool. Thanks for clearing that up. A double/single would make sense. Trying to cock back the hammer under stress just makes no sense at all. Ill bet Para Ordanance makes one. They dabble in some unconventional designs based around the 1911. The FNP series and FNX series are also good double/single guns. Theyll be cheaper than a sig. Good luck.

  • @Kopis1911 I do like the FNP 45 and it's my current choice of a future PCP. However work with me for a moment. Picture this. The slim frame of a 1911 with the sleek and elegant slide, beautiful SIGLITES and a nitron finish, than add a P226 styled grip with similar decocker and slide release. Put an extended beavertail on it and remove a grip safety than I believe we have ourselves a sexy pistol please just picture it. It's beautiful isn't it, makes you want one

  • @Wabaanimkii Ya that would be a sweet 1911. I actually have my eye on something similar. A sig p220 elite (4inch).

  • @Kopis1911 ALSO para ord has an iffy reputation, some people love em others hate the shit out of them. I don't see the advantages of an LDA either but their double stack 1911 is pretty cool but I'm not paying 80 bucks for a dumbass mag

  • why do they spell cobra with a k

  • I WANT ONE!!!

  • Everything I've ever wanted. When I turn 21 I'll be broke as a joke. I want a wilson, a brown and a kimber, and another Wilson( ops 9) that's like 7-8 thousand dollars

  • it looks awsome but one thing i'm wondering, why arent you using the slide release, why are you forcing it back?

  • @chibicloud1 fail.

  • @HYBRIDCOMBATIVES how is ir? :L

  • ed brown 1911 ftw

  • I am so pissed - I got the Kimber Raptor II Pro... *sigh*

The day after I got it, someone at the range let me shoot their beautiful Kobra.... I am in love.

  • How much is this gun?

  • @Mr291229 About $2500.

  • Good looking 1911! Nice workmanship!

  • my god you do have large hands

  • @bsik72

    Thats what she said

  • @GunWebsites Most epic response evar!

  • @bsik72 lol ya!

  • WOW! THAT IS THE SEXIEST 1911 OUT THERE ! **DROOLING** :O

  • I saw one at Cabellas today, They had to clean the glass after I left.

  • My dream gun, but with fiber optics!

  • little overpriced... Super nice though

  • Whoa, That gun looks like the pistol in left 4 dead. O.O

  • @SuperTOMvideo when it comes to real gun talk, video game references make you sound like a nerd,LOL

  • This gun is pricey, but I don't get the "centuries old gun" part. Every gun you listed uses the same principle like the 1911 invented 100 years ago. As a mater of fact, pretty much every semi auto hand gun does, there are very few exceptions.

  • I had to watch this vid again, Damn I love that gun.

  • Nothing like an Ed Brown

  • That is a beautiful gun, I will someday buy one. I love the look of the bobtail on the compact style 1911s. thanks for the reveiw.

  • i have only 1000 bucks and i will consider other 1911 which have the same parts and material but less engraving and finishes

  • Great gun. Solid as a rock. But not worth the money. Buy a colt 1911 and if you really must have custom features send it to Yost custom and they'll build a 1911 just as good as an Ed Brown, Wilson, or Les Bear. And all at a 1/4 of the price!

  • No, I doubt it. You can almost never modify a pistol to have perfect fit and finish out of the factory. Also the materials used and the way the metal is forged, the pure attention to detail and care would not be able to be matched with anything less. But in all honesty, any 1911 $800+ will shoot better than the shooter can. Its just that when you want real quality and ultimate reliability - youre gonna go $1000+

  • When it comes down to it, One, it must feel good in yor hands, two you have to know how to shoot the dang thing, three anything over $800 isn't necessarly getting more reliable, it's just getting cleaner looking and better detailed. I can be as accurate with my 226 and S&W .38 as good as the EBs ive been able to use.

  • All invented last century as well? :-P

  • i've held one of these...masterpiece

  • beautifun

  • nice looking gun.

  • That one looks great. Do you think I can use it has EDC gun? The calliber is great, it seems smaller than a regular 1911 and it's great.

  • I don't see why not, it's designed to be a CCW pistol

    However it is not inexpensive

  • I know, like almoust all of the 1911s on the market it is expensive but it is money well spent.

  • The cut on the main spring housing; I think its used for comfortable grip, as gunwebsites said, also when ppl CC, the regular M1911 Mainspring housing tends to dig in on your side when sitting down. Well from what I've heard, but that was with a Government Model.

  • Ed Brown is a gunsmith, and he has quite a bit of experience. like 20+ years worth, so every gun you buy form his company, your getting the quality of a legandary gunsmith, I don't care if I am paying 2K, I just want quality. Anyway, If you have 2K, or more USE IT! :D

  • a very expensive gun.a very good gun.

  • PLEASE do some more vids on that beauty. The Rolex of 1911's.I have two Kimbers and a Colt but I would love an Ed Brown. Thanks your videos are awesome 5*s

  • You got to love Ed Brown, he makes such nice stuff. To bad it costs your soul and first born. lol, I'm only joking.

  • ed brown cost a lot...here anny where from 1500 to 3500 bucks...crazy..must be mill spec..or something

  • yeh but most 1911's are expensive.
