  • I use Wary on an ancient 400 MHz / 256 MB RAM computer I bought in 1999. The wireless connection works flawlessly with my USB antenna.

I recommend using the Links2 minimal browser to BLAZE across the Internet at fast speeds (search for "Links2 pet" file).

  • i cant understand a word you say

  • I ran an older version of puppy on my old Toshiba tecra 500 CDT = Pentium 120 MHz with 144 MB RAM....

  • hello i have a toshiba tecra800 256 meg ram memory and a pentium 2 processeur will Puppy work with my old computeur

thanks for your top tens reviews

  • Regular Puppy 5.1.1 works awesome on my 733 MHz with 256 RAM. I have it totally tweaked out and customized. Firefox extensions make it feel like a newer computer. Make sure to download the "Low Quality Flash" extension for Firefox to watch YouTube easier.

  • How about a 400 MHz from 1999? Will Wary work smoother than the Puppy 5.1.1 version I have right now?

  • So... would it work on my Atari 2600???

  • @sonic3243 one way to find out mate

  • can it run on 64 Mb RAM? have one old pc in attic and could use it as garage computer. It was running windows 98 before but when i tried install some other os, it always had kernel panic

  • @Latvian4ever now a really quick workround for you pc is to get a gparted cd from the net,and do your drive first, givingit a nice bit of swap, then chuck in the pup and you should be all good to go

  • @sneekylinux and @IntelgratedShiznit thanks! I am going to try one or other solution and hopefuly it will work and get my old pc a second life. Happy New Year

  • @Latvian4ever I've successfully ran the Puppy 4.x series on a Celeron 400series processor with only 96 Mb of RAM. It worked well enough.

  • @IntelgratedShiznit try mid to late 90's

  • Like are we talking 800mhz p3 with 256megs of ram OLD hardware?

  • @joshua25fm even older than that mate

  • what in your opinion is considered an old pc ? i have a Toshiba M7-S7331 (2004 or 2005). can i use Fedora or Ubuntu? or, do i have to use Puppy? and will all of the pen and touch screen features work on all of the aforementioned Systems?

  • @foreverhXc777 buntu or fedora will work, but at a snails pace, lxde or pup or another small distro will bring it back to life

  • I've been looking for something to run on my really old ibm mini-pc and I think this might be it ^^

  • @wcbgn give it a try mate

  • @wcbgn and if you don't like it, try another puppy or something like slitaz

  • can i get software like empathy gwibber and the other stuff like skype on puppy linux??

  • @worldpeace390 as this has just been released the answer is no,you may be able to find a pet.file but i would not guarantee that it would work,if you have a newer pc,get puppy 5.1 and the answer would be yes,but give wary a bit more time and im sure they will all be available in time,or just wait for 5.2 to come on-line and you will see more

  • @sneekylinux thanks mate cheers !!

  • you are awesome

  • @any5dollarfootlong well ta mate

  • @economyvsstate no prob mate
