  • I dont think the film was trying get a historical point accros

but A close View of how we samurai live are life.

    samurai are still here

    @sant131313

  • i am also japanese i belive samurais would do anything for there master for there people for there honor there where not afraid to doe they did not break the bushido if they did they would prefer to die than to discrase there honor they are not men but streagth or power but by there honor

  • Hey all good things must come to an end to bad it had to be the samurai! >=(

thums up if you want the samurai to come back!!!!!.

  • the Samurai is the strongets warrior of the middle ages no other can get even close to matching up with their pride, strength, wisdom, and powerful heart.

  • @ultimateanime45 Technically, Samurai had the most Warriors in Asia(Especially per Clan).

If you want Strongest it would be the Knights. Don't under estimate medieval macho man smashing strength with the 2 handed sword, it break your bones trying to block the smashing power.

  • @makemap oh bull fucking shit. The Samurais use the Kitana witch is the strongest blade in the world it can cut through anything espacially knite armor. I suggest you do some reaserch kid Knites are doughbags they treat people like shit all they want is money from their retarded ass king and to be his main gurd. Id say knites were the strongest in europe.

  • @ultimateanime45 Geeze, I thought your comparing strength power, now your comparing weapon power. Seriously though a samurai would have problems doing blocks, but not dodge.

  • @makemap wtf kid

  • @ultimateanime45 You should have said the "best" instead of the "strongest".

  • @makemap :3

  • @ultimateanime45 thats true for a one on one match vers a samauri and thgats how samuri would fight in battle one on one matches... butt i beleive they would have lost to anny overseas power if they used that tactic

  • i lik the music at 0:52 wats the instrument?

  • the only thing in Last Samurai wich is good

is the old armor and the beautyfull Nature Scenes...

everything around the Main Char is just Crap..

and in the end the last Amerikan is standing... lol

  • @SargonvonThule The Last Samurai is a joke! there are at least 2 million Samurai who still live and practice those same traditions as they did back in the old days. At least that is what a Japanese guy told me at College a few years ago and he is from Samurai background, his uncle actually makes the swords over in Japan and signs each and every one of them hand made

  • i wanna go to japan and become a samurai

  • Lie is not right word, let's call it "fiction".

We should not be so sensitive, this is just a movie and Tom and Ken act very well.

  • thumbs up if you read the japaneese top comment and liked it without understanding it

  • Interesting historical facts. I seen the last of the samurai movie but you video filled in much for me. Cheer's.

  • In Korean history, there is no Samurai, so they cannnot understand Bushido.

If you find "I am Japanese ---," it's Korean with pretending Japanese.

  • Oh P.S. Imperial Japan wasnt using american military tactics, they were using western European tactics and while you state this there is a HUGE discrepancy in the two, in fact the Japanese imperial military trained for line battles all the way up to the second world war they DID NOT adopt any new Western ideas for warfare they literally had to line up in ranks and fire on the enemy without truly even aiming. This tactic of course quickly died out once confronted by American soldiers

  • @M40A3 Why not there own idea???

  • @female115 During the Bakumatsu period of Japan the empire ruled out the Bushido of the Samurai, while this was picked up again during WW2 due to a large swell in nationalism, which is why you always see in movies the Kamikaze pilots praying to Bishomonten(the god of war), truthfully I cannot answer your question I do not know why they didnt upgrade their tactics, maybe they did not think it was necessary, or maybe they figured that due to their large numbers and overwhelming force that it work

  • @M40A3 Thank you for replying :)

  • @female115 your welcome :)

  • 200 bucks says this guy doesnt know who Musashi Miyamoto, Uesugi Kagetora(Kenshin), Takeda Shingen Oda Nobunage etc etc. He probably doesnt even realize that when guns came to Japan they were exclusively used by Samurai, and were not considered dishonorable

Dude your presentation blows and he most

    do some research next time

The Taihei was still a period of suffering for most Japanese people

  • @LittleShinobi92 dude i had the same dream WTF geezus chirst are we related ?

  • Nice vid but i have an issue if i may express it......you entitle the video as ''The Samurai Of Japan'' .....in oppose to what ???.... the samurai of easter island per se.

Im not trying to be a dick or sardcastic or something just curious.

  • the last knights where in japan how great I saw osaka in 2006

  • A very good video

  • Bushido code i think way better then knights code cause sometimes i think knights had no honor compared to samurais

  • Thanks for sharing!!

  • I wish I could be shown the way of the Samurai :( they have such honor.

  • very nice =]

  • I am Japanese. Most video content is wrong. In Japan late 16th century, there was mass production of guns. In 1600 "sekigahara" battle、50,000 guns were used. The large number of guns used in war as a Westerner is that 200 years later. "The Last Samurai" is a complete lie movie.

  • @zousandazou very true... the samurai warriors were trained in using rifles, too. even in his last stand at Shiroyama, Saigo Takamori and his men used modern weapons! the samurai warriors were neither stupid, nor suicidal fanatics... they tried to fight the best they could and only used swords, bows and arrows when they ran out of ammo. but the movie "The Last Samurai" is a commercial product... historicaly inaccurate.

  • @zousandazou The first guns in Europe was used in late Medieval period - late 1500 century.

  • @flashbag1

    Yes.

The first gun was invented by the Chinese. However, modern gun was invented by Europeans. In 1543, the Portuguese told a gun in Japan. Japan at that time because it was during the war, immediately began mass production of guns. Today, most of the guns of the 16th century is made in Japan.

  • @zousandazou tienes mucha razon, los gringos nos tienen engañados con sus peliculas., en mexico nos tienen ofendidos con la pelicula del alamo., en esos tiempos mexico les partio la cara., el mundo ya no les cree nada..saludos

  • @zousandazou If i just may ask, as i am no true expert, but dosent the whole last samurai story focus on the fact that gunpowder weaponry became to good? I mean, at sekigahara, the samurai had specialised armor which could take several bullets without doing much damage, but by the time of the Last Samurai, they had effective guns and, most of all, machine-guns. Can it not be that, my good sir?

  • @zousandazou I´m sorry to dispute with a Japanese, but "The Last Samurai" is not a complete lie. It is true that it has much mystification of the samurai. And it´s true that the samurai used firearms. But those guns were old, as you say from late 16th century: they had been used back then by warlords like Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Still, the Imperial Army had much better, modern firearms in the times of The Last Samurai.

The samurai did not stand a chance. And still, they went to battle.

  • @zousandazou man ur dumbass... ITS ALREADY FICTION GENRE...

BUT U KNOW WHAT ? ITS BASED ON TRUE STORY.... BOOOOOOOOOM !!!

  • @zousandazou But not everywhere. Some vilages in Japan held traditions without fire weapons to end samurai times.

  • @zousandazou Bless You. I read, that this movie is v popular in Japan. Fortunatel of it´s inhabitants doesn´t agree. Thanks. I don´t like the movie too.

  • @Targanar Sorry, problems with the keyboard. "is very popular" and "Fortunately one".

  • @zousandazou Americans were fearful and paranoid about Japan. Just as now a days they are paranoid and fearful of Mexico and Islamic countries in middle east and far east

  • @zousandazou being japanese doesnt mean that you are a historian. And you are incorrect,in 1600 Japan was the "Closed Country".There were guns, but far from mass production, and 50,000 guns in the battle?LOL,you shouldnt read so much wikipedia, its a complete lie.

  • very nice favorite !

    and thump up.

  • the samurais were great warriors who kept the honour of japan and retained it as a millitary power. even after there elimination their rules and traditions were follwed by the imperial japanese government.

  • @musa77751 YEAH BROTHER ITS THAT F***ING N.W.O!!! IM BLACK AND I ALWAYS LOVE MY JAPANESE PEOPLE AND THE HOLE ASIA WORLD LOL..... PEACE ASIA POWER

  • Excellant explanation of the Samurai tradition. Wish there was more films in the Mifuni tradition.

  • Let people decide MOUNTAINOUS "samurai video" against the video "j0n3s" who has the skill and the heart for his katanas

  • hail 2 all the samurai that live in this world

  • 0:45 give me some tomatoes.

  • Nice Video, well done.

  • 1:17 Ken Watanabe!

  • The length of the swords. Is that blade only or does that include the handle.

  • Excellent video *****

  • >youku08

    雑賀衆の様な集団が多く居たんだろうね。

  • i can name only 3 groups of wrriors who would fight to the death like that. samurais, sikhs and spartans.

  • Don't forget the Swiss mercenaries who fought to the death for Louis 16th.

  • coz they had to lol

  • Samurai, Sicks ,Spartans, Those Nepalese Guys, Celts And Other Western European Tribes Durin The Roman Times, Dumbass Medieval Muslims Durin The Crusades And Im Sure There Are More Who Fight To The Death.

  • @DeRodeLeeuw you are saying it like it means nothing each group had their own mentality on why they fight to the death samurai they had bushido celts where simply too proud medieval muslims where fighting to the death cause of their religion BUT spartans where fighting cause they beleived that to die in battle is the greatest thing a man can do for his country a thing that not even the gods could do and they where jelous cause you are mortal and you despise death you are higher than god.

  • @cursedlion next time dont reply to a 4 month old comment wich i already forgot about. an i think its cool to die for something u stand for so yeh it does mean something to me

  • @cursedlion btw im DeRode this is my bros acc

  • @cursedlion samurai is a religion of feat on ur spirit and human body is the most powerful weapon hail 2 all samurai that live in this world

  • @DeRodeLeeuw you dont want to mention GERMANS,eh?Our tribe did the most miracles in war history ,no matter what you like or not.its fact.either with swords or with planes or tanks.

  • @wilhelmspw Germans werent a tribe. in Germany during Roman times, there were many GERMANIC tribes.

  • @wilhelmspw if you call murdering jews a miracle then yes, you did good!

  • I enjoyed that very much. It was great; however, samurais did you the katana like you said but they were also trained in using guns and western weapons. During the Satsuma Rebellion they raided weapons of the westerns but had limited ammo.

  • @youku08 LOLWUT?

  • I like your work! :-)

  • Nice presentation! Saumrai to me are incredible individuals, they have courage, honor, discipline, faith. From what I have learned from history is that it did not matter if they were outnumbered, outgunned or whatever, they would fight and die for what they believe in!

  • Samurai Warriors 4EVER!

    Long live in history!

    RESP3CT

  • the samurai hardly used their swords in battle normally they would use yari's or naginata's and bows of course...their swords were usually used for ceremony or duels...of course they were used in battle but rarely

  • I love Fuji-san

  • I like very much the Japanes culture and apreciate the true esencce of the Samurai.

After i saw quite a lot of movies (from Akira Kurosawa and others), letting the fiction behind I must say that there were also a lot of Samurai unworthy. We are seeing only the good part from this. For exaample: the European medieval knights were just like samurai, respecting the a code of honour but we all know that many of them were a disgrace.

Good job you have done with movie.

  • the japanese have great respect for their ancestors, they where usually samurais

  • @CoopSlave4ever great lesson to share with people who are interested in the way of the Samurai.they lived a very passionate way of life & there all about the art of war. TOTALLY A SUPREME WARRIOR & HAD HONOR BEYOND BELIEF

  • Awesome! You did an excellent job with researching the history. The music and the clips added to the effect and feel, and the text was most informational. It was nothing I didn't know before, but that's only because I've always been interested in the Samurai and Japanese culture. It's amazing what one can learn by listening, like that brief period when there were women Samurai. Anyhow, awesome job, good luck and good fighting!

    ~The Defender

  • dude...this is totally awesome....two thumbs up man =)

  • Excellent! That was a great bit of history! I actually learned a lot more about fall of the Samurai and how the events came about; I'm more familiar with feudal Japan history. Thank you for making this! I like how you incorporated the pictures with the facts, like the swords. :) I'm glad you won second place!
