Amazing song! If you like Joe, please check out my song in the video responses or on my profile. It's called "Danny Dee - Misty Morning" I think you'll really dig it!
16 people didn't like this enough that they stuck around to hit the button? I don't get it. Why did they come here in the first place? Beautiful song.
This is pure feeling of despair put into music. You would know what this song is about even if it didn't have any lyrics. People who dislike this either don't have any feelings or are... just jealous.
I have just broke up with gf an hourd before listing to this song and i was so pissed off and this song turn me around i so calm now i love it music makes me happy "
@CoastGuardIDC i have been to a concert of joe last year. its awesome! hes live even better than on the studio version! at the end of the concert he playes Woke up dreaming and it sounded even better than when he played it in the royal albert hall. so have fun at your concert, it will be awesome for sure :)
my metal music is so good, that for example, in neo-classical progressive metal, at 15 notes a second without a single mistake , I almost lose consciousness because it is SO good, that it is better than sex. the most hommo-erectus question as: Does it can get any better than Joe Banana? well, If you took the time to close your TV and Radio, and see that there is 500,000 bands of extreme metal, you would go suicide because you will consider yourself too much innocent
When I hear Joe, I'm reminded of Rory Gallagher in that they both were/are masters of the guitar and they both were blessed with a damn good voice to match.
@AlexVitus "Why listen to a speeding fast lame ass solo when you can listen to something this beautiful?" there are as many truly terrible slow solos as there are fast terrible solos .so the question is why would any one listen lame solos, be they fast or slow.
I heard Joe Bonamassa before today, but I never actually listened to him. While searching for Eric Clapton to listen to, I stumbled upon "Prisoner" by Joe. I don't even know what to say. After listening to a few songs, I've been touched emotionally in ways that I never knew possible. He's brought me through the stress of an obsessive relationship, through the struggles of a hard life, and now the isolation of utter loneliness. I can say nothing other than thank you, Mr. Bonamassa.
I've been waiting a long time for someone who can do the following:
1. Lay down rock, rock blues and blues tunes that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. 2. Absolutely rip apart the fretboard by applying multilple techniques and blazing chops (this guy is NOT a one trick pony) from song to song and even within a song. 3. Have a voice that supports his guitar work AND can sing within the framework of multiple styles (rock, blues, rock blues etc..). JOE BONAMASSA is the REAL DEAL!!!
I'm thirtheen and so glad that I'm listening to real music and not listening to the mindless crap in the charts. I'll never listen to that, I refuse to become another mindless adolescent following every other in this world!
mydogspet i feel exactly the same! I discovered him last month on a PBS special-the one where he plays Royal Albert Hall. Talk about better late than never! I don't think this dude knows how to make a bad record! I am spreading the word--just love him. Makes the shite on the radio seem even worse than i recognized it was before.
Added to My Favorites, Joe Bonamassa has extraordinary talents with the guitar and his voice.
Kids, time to learn. What you are hearing over the pop station in your local city is 99% untalented, autotuned 'musicians'. Its time for you to listen to what music is really about.
My Dad introduced me to Joe and I have to say his music is amazing.I hear every musical influence when he plays.I hear Stevie Ray Vaughn,Eric Clapton,B.B. King.I'm only 21 but I know good music when I hear it.This is the kind of music I wanna see on MTV or on a musical channel.Keep it up Joe
this is a very nice song, very frampton-esque, which makes sense since he listened to humble pie when he was a kid. Go listen to frampton do "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and you'll see a lot of similarities in terms of tone especially.
i never heard of joe til my MOTHER made me go with her to Philly to watch him... and let me tell you... this man CAN put on a show! needless to say, i've been a huge fan since
After listening to Joe's music for months now, I've sorted out that the thing that sets Joe apart is an uncanny knack for mastering any genre of music he wants. Clapton's unique style differed because he couldn't exactly match his idols. He always sounded like Clapton. Joe can do some people's style's better than they can. At times you'll hear "Frampton", or "Billy Gibbons," or "Jimmy Page". But he's not a clone. As he's grown, he's combining all of these elements into "Joe Bonomassa."
Joe Bonawho?! never heard of the man, till i heard this song on the dutch radio just twenty minutes ago. Now i already ordered the album with this song on it. I don't pay often for music nowadays, course the music nowadays simply sucks, but this kind of rare & fucking quality deserves to get paid. Quality sells! Blues still lives \M/
@19boozebelly81 my brother in law just played this for me a couple weeks ago,and i've never heard of this guy untill then, its a shame how great music like this gets the backburner treatment, but lady gaga and all the other crap gets all the radio play!
So hubby and I are watching PBS...they're yakking 'bout a dude named Joe Bonamassa during their money grubbin time...oh brother, we says."Sounds like some mob boss" hubby says. Next is this kid playing AMAZING blues at Royal Albert Hall. WOW!, we says, "Haven't heard playing this good since we were young. Agree with you 100% 'bout JB's artful playing but instead of nasty F-bomb how 'bout exquisite quality? Unique? Outstanding? Unparalled Quality? Yes, his playing is unparalled.
I saw him on 60 minutes in the early 90s. it only took 20 years to come across him again. He was amazing then, now he is an omniscient guitar deity!!!!!!!
I literally just heard about this guy 5 mins ago. (from the Banger Films website) I am completely blown away! I try to keep my ears open to as many genres as possible, Blues is one of my favorites... HOW could I have never heard of Joe Bonamassa before!??
Dude, I'd heard of him, and to look at this guy or to hear him speak I thought he was a total geek. But once he plugs in...it's beyond words. He plays the most sizzling blues I've ever heard, and makes for a seriously kickass vocalist.
I think if Steve Vai and Stevie Ray Vaughn had a child this would be it. The Uncle would have to be Jimmy H. The aunt would be Bonnie Rait. Haunting talent!!!
this man is as good as it gets,,a true gem,,,,he really needs to win a grammy,,,and definally not those bubble gum,,,singers or those crapy rappers,or hip hop crap,,, now this is true talent and he is only 34,,,so so sweet,,,,,,,o and im so damn lonely too,,,
I'd never heard of this guy, and he was recommended to me by a friend. I've been overcome with emotion, I've got that lump in my throat. Sure as hell a fan now
Well worth going to see Joe performing live. Saw him recently and he spends a good two hours on stage, so no need for a support act. Saw him a few years ago in Cambridge (the Junction) as well - fantastic talent. Plays flat out for the whole set so offers great value for money.
This is my favourite JB song; beautiful emotional guitar playing. His live cds are brilliant, hope you enjoy them
Not sure why I have never heard this guys name before but I know it now and what a special talent, the whole band is amazing! I have been going through his songs and I'M a fan of his now, if you haven't heard, Slow Train, it is worth checking out.
i know this is a cover ( and i dislike covers) but boy not this one. Finding stuff like this reminds me why i love rock music so much. This is excellent
How many great albums did this guy make before I even heard his name? Since finding him on Youtube, I must have heard thirty of his songs that should already be classics. Better late than never.
would really love to see Joe play with davy knowles. both brilliant guitarists but i personally preffer davys voice :)

Wow, I have always been a Clapton fan, but Joe is right up there. Sexy as hell - the way he plays those strings and then there is his voice..

How many great albums did this guy make before I even heard his name? Since finding him on Youtube, I must have heard thirty of his songs that should already be classics. Better late than never.
