Eh ben !
I too was extremely impressed. You killed that piano but it died a noble death, mightier than might have dreamed (if it could). Keep it up. You're a lot better than many pianists I hear on the tour now. Much better. I decent piano...my god. KEEP PLAYINg.
And to think I laughed when I saw the piano that I figured was in the Sunday School part of the Church basement. What a performance! How would you sound on a grand in a theatre!
That piano owes you! And for all the critics, hey, there's only one Horowitz and I seriously doubt he could have gotten as much music out of this piano as our performerer here did. Thanks for demonstrating crap out of tune uprights can put forth concert worthy music in the hands of a maestro.
Jemboy... seems yur playing is too rough in my opinion. I see no dynamics at all which is very different they way horowitz plays it. Try to stay calm and loosen up a bit and play close attention to the dynamics. Overall Ive seen better ones here on youtube but u hav my respect for finishing this piece.
What on earth are you talking about? Also the other critics on here are utterly pathetic, as a pianist myself, I can tell you that this is very very difficult and played very well.A lot of the quality is lost here on a bad mic/camera mic, and a bad piano with poor accoustics in that practice room.
Dear Critics: post a video of yourself playing this, then you have the right to ridicule other peoples hard work.
It's all in one take, just two cameras, watch the changovers, his hands are moving exactly the same way they are on the previous camera, impossible to simulate if doing seperate takes.
Things may sound different/wrong if you play them at the wrong tempo... and most of the time you'll find the real melody from such a piece when you play if for a long time, that's what tells me you've been playing this piece quite often haven't you, jemboy? ;)
nice playing, but it's true what jsthorne says, keep practicing and do some other pieces ofcourse (we wouldn't want to get bored LoL :D)
i dont care what anyone says, this looks like one of the hardest pieces ive ever seen. Ive tried the first couple pages and just everything sounds wrong, so maybe in a few years ill try again. Lovely!
Hey. Good but not perfect. It's not ready for performance just yet. I can tell you are forcing/feeling rather awkward in certain bits, for example at 2:57 on the right hand. Start slow again at bits where you're forcing your hands and try to find a way to make it feel natural and easy.
Keep up the good work and don't stop picking out your flaws.
It's all too loud, especially the left hand at the start. You need to keep it down so you can make an impact with the accents. Listen to how sudden Horowitz makes the crashes, by surrounding them with quiet playing.
so many wrong notes, and not correct tempo, but overall, hey thats great !! good job
but let me to give 1 suggestion: record on something that can be called "piano", the one's your playing in this video is just screaming..

some good stuff there, though the editing between different tapings distracts. i like the extra coda rhetoric at the end.
