Met Ralph at a Meet and Greet and he is as cool as a fan! He acted like we had been knowing each other for years! In a way we do, I always acted out his part when me and the boys did there videos on the playground back in the day! Peace!
Ralph Tresvant, the lead singer of New Edition before Johnny Gill came in, every lil girl at that time wanted a piece of him. Short solo career but that does not diminish his and NE's sizable contribution to R&B music. I remember when the group was called the New Temptations because of their choreography and dressing in suits, not saggy jeans and Timberlands, like real men suppose to do. He and the group laid the foundation for ALL of the boy bands that followed.
@musiclover77able I dnt thnk U had to be born in the 70s and early 80s to appreciate the late 80s and 90s.I do thnk that being born during this time would give u an advantage of understanding and relating to the artists and groups bcuz they were growing up just like we were and the things they sung about we all were experiencing from 1 time or another. I was born in 85 and i prefer music from back then bcuz itz what i grew up on. Minaj & Bieber are ok but Im grown & I'd rather hear whats real:)
I heard this song playing the game and I thought: Man, how come I haven't heard it already? I mean, it's so good that it must have been played frequently on the radio stations and music televisions but no! it's absolutely underrated, so bad...
One of my all time favorite songs...will never forget this joint..it was playin on the radio the mornin I found out my cousin was killed in a car accident..4 days before xmas..that was over 20 years ago..we were both 10 years old..wow time flies
Watching this video reminds me why Ralph was my favorite. Don`t get me wrong I love me some New Edition but Ralph stole my heart with this song. LOL IJS ;)
I absolutely love this song, I grow up in the early 90's, I was about 19 when this song came out. I cant tell how many memories I made of out this song. I miss the 90's, it was the best time of my life.
Did Chingy in 2003 with "One Call Away" sample this song? Sounds like it to me. I know "One Call Away" was sampled by someone in the 80's or 90's; I just can't pinpoint it.
not only do i love this song.. but i love the fact that a group can go their separate ways and they all have their own success... i mean u dont really find that now~a days cause ppl will b focused on that one lead singer. Ralph, Johnny, Bobby & BBD all did their thing.
Ralph Tresvant sold millions of albums worldwide and toured around the world,he is a music legend,he has a great singing voice,he is a real music artist that sings real music, this is real music, this one of the greatest songs in music history,a great song to make love to and dance and romance to,this song was a top 5 hit here in the United States on the Billboard music charts,it was a number one hit in a few countries around the world and a top 10 hit in Canada,Europe,Asia,a beautiful love song
i use to have this cassete, and the remixed singles of it not sure where they are now, Ralph did great solo i think, he's the singer of the group i like to hear the most, but im also glad they got back together..NE all the way.
LOL this is how i know im gettin old, i saw another kids post that said "omg this songs from GTA 3 san andres" LLS show how young he is or how old i really am...
Boy when Bobby Brown hears tunes like this and remembers them times....He Musy Cry like a baby....................Love him Tho.....I guess after one time is a next!!!
The 90s: Ralph Tresvant, Blackstreet, Mary J Blige, Mint Condition, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Jodeci, Brain McKnight, Janet, Joe, many, many more...There won't be a better decade in music.
Words can't describe how much I love this song. In fact, the entire album from which this song came from is underrated. Ralph should've got more props for his music during this era and should NOT be viewed as a one-hit wonder.
Honestly, the 90s was the last great era of music. I miss it dearly.
I just love utube, for making the instantaneous playing of my favorite videos [like this one] possible. ...one of the most exhilerating songs ever...right here, anytime. It gets no better.
it is really a shame to be listening to todays so called "music" and expect these artists to really be part of something that can be heard and felt through their music instead of this s&!# today. I'm 24 and I prefer all of the old school music from the 70s-2002 and really considered these decades where artists gave their all when it came to their music. (P.S. I know that I wasn't during the 70s to mid 80s but doesnt mean I'm biased to what I listen to)
@4everDilla Your absolutely right! old school music from past decades are way better in every genre. Music from back then just had more substance than today's. Since 2001/2002 the world has just been completely dumbed down. cartoons, music, movies, television, everything!
This song came out in the fall of 90,20 years ago and this is the 1st time I've seen this video. Takes me back to when I was 1st stationed in Germany (Miesau). Back when music was full of emotion, and the artists were talented. No autotune, you had to bring it on your own. It seems as we take strides with technology, we take steps back somewhere else, like morals and and the quality of our music. There will never be another time in music like the 80s to late 90s. Man, where does the time go?!
@wmadoro I grew up listening to classic SOULFUL gems like these, and Sting, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Bruce Springsteen......seems like talent was no longer a component of an artist's composite after the end of the 90s....
This is one of the benchmarks in our music. They was starting to add Hip Hop feeling in the music and it was real. This beat is classic. Jimmy and Terry was so cold.
