  • I would buy gigabyte cards but its always blue pcb...

  • if i connect 2x hd 5830 on 2x 16 pci express slots its became to 512 bit interface thx???? plz answer

  • Super man ?

  • @ChipsAhoyCA You should watch our GIGABYTE Nan Ping Motherboard factory tour video. It would be very enlightening for you. The workers are already in Taiwan so according to you, they would not have far to go. Your CAPS lock key is on.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom oh thats what that key is?

  • hi!

whats the lenght of the HD 5830?

    pls reply

    thanks

  • @brumbrine 26CM. A little shorter than reference version.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom thanks for your quick reply

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • ii have been fighting my self from getting the ftx460 super overclock every minute i love gigabyte products doies the super overclock have the same ultra duable 2oz copper as the plain ultra durable

  • @asus3571 Still 2 oz copper but with a cherry picked GPU for overclocking

  • @Futurelooksdotcom thanks bro you think the gtx460 super overclock is worth the 275.00 with tax at retail microcenter or should i risk the ease of being able to take back to the store for newegg they have it for 219.00 also because i want the fg104 not the gf100 how do i know witch the chip is on the 460 i want

  • @asus3571 A GTX 460 is a GF104 core. We've got a great article on Futurelooksdotcom. Just search for: "GTX 460 GF104" on the site and you should be well informed. Also, read our review of the ZOTAC and MSI GTX 460s on the site. It's got the benchmarks that should help you decide which way is the right way for you.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom thanks bro ill do that so witch cards use the gf100 chip im pretty sure the first 460's were fg104 considering the first 480's were 104's

  • @asus3571 Actually no. The GTX 480 isn't a GF104. We've got all the info you need in an article called "GeForce GTX 460 – nVidia’s $200 Gift to Mainstream Gamers" on the futurelooksdotcom website.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom i stand corrected your right the 460's 104 i remember when people said the 480 with the 104 was a a whole card there are 480 with 104 its in my computer power user mag

  • Do you know how well 2 Gigabyte 5830's would do in crossfire?

  • @langer1972 We don't have any of our own data since we never tested these cards in CrossFire, but as a rule, it's never double, probably more like 20 - 30% increase in performance, and it depends on the game.

  • i really want that gigabyte 5770.

  • I just bought an HD 5830 on Friday, waiting for it to get here, got it for $180, not bad imo. Plan on getting a new monitor soon so I can play in full 1080p :). Great video.

  • any case badge in any of them?

  • @vybzshakur I was disapointed to find no case sticker with my gigabyte 5770 super overclock card or even a Dirt 2 coupon :-/

  • Hey Steven does the superclock 5770 have voltage control?

  • @tenkirulez It doesn't. At least not out of the box. Some people have been swapping BIOS though and using MSI Afterburner or other software to enable overvolting on HD 5770s though. Great for if you're a benchmark freak, but a little bit on the sketchy side if you game for hours and need a solid card that doesn't crash.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not really a benchmark freak, but I do plan on gaming for hours so I guess I will overclock the card as much as possible without messing with the voltage. Again thanks for your help! Oh and one more question I have an crossfire board but I am really interested in the gtx 460 do you think its worth buying it even though I have no chance of SLIing it in the future?

  • @tenkirulez What have you done in the past in terms of upgrades? Have you always gone and bought the second GPU down the road? If you have, then you might want to pick up a board with the config you'll most likely upgrade to. If you've never done that, or you tend to pick up a new GPU with the latest features of the day anyway when you upgrade, then it probably won't matter either way. Just something to think about. Single GPU performance is the same either way.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom Good point I just realized even if I plan to pair 2 cards up in the future I just end up buying the newest cad with the latest features as you stated, thanks you've really helped me a bunch.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom i have the msi R5830 and it's great got it for 199 on new egg

  • i want to play GTA 4 in high (not maxed out) without any lags,5770 or a 5830 suit me?

  • @96Source If I recall, I think GTA 4's "recommended" video card was an 8600GT level card, which wasn't the greatest GPU to begin with (unlike the 7600GT and 6600GT before it). Today's mainstream gaming card's should be no problem based on that.

    What are you upgrading from?

  • @Futurelooksdotcom well actually im crrently usin a GTS 250 but im looking forward for some new direct x11 card because i get decent fps. btw,im facing unloaded road and buildings while playing Epsodes of liberty city . i want to play high which require 1GB card . so help me out

  • @96Source The HD 5770 is by far the better card if you compare it to the GTS 250. It has DX11, 1GB of RAM, performs better and it's as little as $149 if you check the link in the video description. It's not the most future proof option, but if you're on a budget, it does the job well. The HD 5830 is far better, but will cost you in the neighbourhood of $50 more.

If you can spend a LOT more, go for the 1GB version of the GTX 460. It's a really surprising card at $229'ish.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom tq very much since im usin AMD ATi's will be a best match for it.nvm ill go for the sapphire 5830 lastly, really thank your recommendation and explanantion.u hv been a best pc mechanic keep it up!!

  • hhi, i want to play crysis at 1680x1050 resolution at enthusiast settings and no AA, would a 5830 do that?i can only spend up to £160 and the 5830 is £158.. soi can just afford it but cant afford the 5850. is the 5830 a good enough card?

  • @LFCforEver12341 Hmm I don't know but I know a ati hd 5770 can definately handle it at like 20-30 fps. Try looking up crysis being run by the gfx card you might want.

  • @LFCforEver12341 Check out our review link posted in the video description to see if the results for Crysis are acceptable. We test the HD 5770 vs HD 5830 vs GTX 460 768MB in many games including Crysis.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom hmm. i dont know what to get, the 460 runs cooler and is cheap but my board dosnt support sli so i wouldnt be able to sli later. hmmm dont know wether to go with the 5850, 5830 or 460. (i cant really afford the 5850)

  • @LFCforEver12341 GTX 460 is a great GPU. It does some things the same or slightly worse than the HD 5830, but it does some things WAY better than the HD 5830. Neither are in the same price point as the HD 5850 (+$100). Physically, the GTX 460 is shorter which may appeal to you if you want to use it in a smaller case. I would have to argue thought that 2D desktop image quality is still in ATI's favour. Looks sharper and cleaner than GTX 460. Comes down to your apps and what you do with it.

  • i have to give you the credit where its due, this is the first video review that has given me solid information about the super OC 5770 =D

  • @benny332 Thanks for the props. For more details on HD 5770 SOC performance, you might want to check out the link in the video description where we put the HD 5770 SOC against video cards in the next price point ($200) which include the HD 5830 and the new GTX 460.

  • Heads up! Our latest GTX 460 review actually has the comparison between the SuperOC HD 5770 and the HD 5830 along with the game changing GTX 460. Link is in the video description.

  • hi, is the performance beteen the 5830 and 5770 alot? and can you hurry up with the benchmarks please :)

  • @LFCforEver12341 Still working them, but if you haven't looked at the video response, you should check that out. nVidia just launched a game changing product at the $200 price point and we've now turned it into a three way shoot out between the HD 5830, HD 5770 and NEW GTX 460 768MB. All of them are within $10 - 20 so this is a fair fight.

  • Great unboxing! Looking forward to the review. This just made me realize how bad I want to upgrade to a 5770 or a 5840. :) Keep up the great videos guys!

  • Thanks Stephen for reviewing these cards, I have been waiting for a video review of the Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5770 Super Overclock on YouTube. I have been planing to buy a 5770 for some time now and have decided to get the Gigabyte HD 5770 SOC.

I'm surprised/disappointed that such a premium card doesn't come with an included game like other ATI Radeon HD 5K series cards, which came with DiRT 2. I wish I lived in the USA, here in Australia the 5770 costs $229 AUD while the 5830 costs $275 AUD.

  • @daza0166 While I do agree that a lot of manufacturers aren't doing a lot to set their products apart these days with great bundles that add value, the lack of said bundles does allow these cards to hit at lower price points. Some people that don't like or care for the bundled games would obviously take a price cut instead.

I know some retailers do offer free STEAM game codes with purchase so it looks like retailers are putting out the extra effort to add value in some markets.

  • How long till you release the reviews? I am really anxious to see which ones better because those the only 2 cards which are awesome and fit in my budget. Excellent video!

  • @tenkirulez Hoping to have something up this coming week. But if you're looking to buy soon, you may want to hold off for a couple days so that we can do our "special unboxing" of a new GPU that gets announced on Monday. Will try to at least get 3DM Vantage run included so that you have some idea of whether to go with either card in this video, or this new GPU. It's in the same price point as the HD 5830 so that's why I'm mentioning it at all.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom how did you become a reviewer? do you buy the cards out of money from your pocket? or do the company sends em to you? i want to do stuff like this but its hard to do it because ill be only to put so much money out o ffrom pocket, is there anyway i can become some sort of partner with the company so i can review?

  • @luian90 When we started 10 yrs ago, we either bought our own product, took advantage of the generous return policy of retailers, and borrowed products from friends or from local computer stores. Only after we put in our own work did companies start to approach us. We're still here because we love what we do.

Consider your out of pocket expenses for hardware your start up capital, and the relationships you build with local computer stores your biz networking. Anything worth doing is hard :)

  • @Futurelooksdotcom nice explanation, extremely nice, am going to look into that. THANKS! btw at what age did you started?

  • @luian90 I can't speak for the other staffers, but I was 19 and my first review was the Matrox G400. This was before Futurelooks.

  • @Futurelooksdotcom thanks..

  • im getting the 5830 thathe showed

  • Very interesting information about the constructor of the cooling on the 5830.

  • Looking forward to the benchmarks very much.
