A RM sniper can shoot from a tenis ball size hole in a wall (hide) from 1000 meters away and kill his target in the open but an SAS sniper can shoot through a 5p coin hole 150 meters away kill his target whilst a hostage is being used a human sheild and on the move , just goes to show the SAS train till its nature to them, damn straight who dares wins!

From this he will give you an interview to ascertain the reasons why you wish to be nominated. If he decides that your not simply a time waster he will speak to your CO. If you are deemed eligable for selection you will be asked to complete an application form, this will then go to the selection board.

I'm no expert, however i do know quite abit about this particular field of the armed forces, the S.A.S and Navy Seals are pretty much the same fucking thing, with very simular equiment from the same manufactures all built by the lowest bidder, same training, same as the Australian S.A.S also.
The SAS and Seals are not the same you idiot ! They are the complete opposite ! The SBS are more alike to the seals. The seals are an amphibious special force much like the SBS. The SAS are not an amphibious unit though they can do if they want but they choose not to

You are wrong mate ! the SBS are based in Poole, in Dorset and the SAS in Hereford. But yeah the selection is pretty much the same. You start with your endurance which lasts 4 weeks, then onto initial continuation training which is another 4 weeks, pass that then its onto jungle not sure how long that lasts but if u pass then i know you do the combat survival training which lasts 4 weeks where u get interrogated. thats pretty much it, SBS do a swimming thing after i think.

SAS and SEALs are two very different groups and are the best at what they do independantly. They are not comparable as they are not the same. From this he will give you an interview to ascertain the reasons why you wish to be nominated. If he decides that your not simply a time waster he will speak to your CO. You are wrong mate ! the SBS are based in Poole, in Dorset and the SAS in Hereford. But yeah the selection is pretty much the same. You start with your endurance which lasts 4 weeks, then onto initial continuation training which is another 4 weeks, pass that then its onto jungle not sure how long that lasts but if u pass then i know you do the combat survival training which lasts 4 weeks where u get interrogated. thats pretty much it, SBS do a swimming thing after i think.

It's like comparing the Navy and the Airforce just because they both fly aircraft or the Marines and the Army because they both shoot guns. @bnsaints You have to remember that the SAS, in terms of training regime and structure, are still the template used by the rest of the world. The SAS/SBS, to my knowledge are still the only Special forces in the world that are not trained by forces from other nations - as US forces still attend military practices hosted by the UK in Episkopi, Cyprus.

But my father used to teach children of the armed forces in Cyprus, where he and some of the teachers took on different regiments in a thing called 'Hashing' (orienteering and running). Germans, Aussies, Americans, New Zealanders, British Paras and marines - all got their arses kicked by these teachers... The one exception were the SBS team, who literally destroyed my father's time. He described them as being 'superhuman!'
