Korean audience is different from Japanese audience and their expectations are different. So why would a Japanese pop group make a performance marketed towards Koreans? Hmmm? All the groups are very popular, but as you can see by the sales figures they aren't even close to competing with AKB. And they haven't been able to beat SKE48, or even the newest group NMB48.

And as far as male groups go, Arashi sells way more than any Korean boy bands too.
