  • I dont think thats racist at all

  • SR-71's <3 <3 <3

  • She will never fail to give me a shiver down my spine. What halcyon she was in the air!

  • Quite amazing to see one of the old SR's flying this low

  • One of the most amazing and impressive silhouettes in the history of man.

  • Problem. Blackbird doesn't have afterburners it has a Ramjet/Turbojet combo. Turbojet is used to get it up to speed, ramjet takes over to put plane at a greater speed. Ramjets can't operate at low speeds.

  • uhg i wanna see a blackbird going as fast as it can! :( that was barely 400 mph :(

  • @FreshfromtheCorpse Probably a lot less than that.

  • why are you all so young...

  • Now there using more droids

  • Nope, Was my favourite plane when I was 8, which is 8 years ago :)

  • fake

  • @ItzKiddyGames If its fake then you're blind and I'm superman.. Seriously. Where do these kids come from.

Seems that common sense isnt so common anymore

  • @ItzKiddyGames Might I add, this is not fake. This footage was probably from about the early 90s or late 80s.Video editing was scarce back then.

  • Aren't there only like 2 of those left?

  • they still fly those things. last time i saw them anyware was like 5years ago when me and my famly were moveing cross contry and we saw a fleet of them fly across. i was so lucky to be their

  • OMGOSH THATS FROM CALL OF DUTY!!!!! Was it invented because of that game?!?!?!

  • @Fatfool159 That's not even remotely funny.

  • Low Fly-by for beeing under the russians Radar ;)

  • that would bee loud as FUCK

  • Just ONE of the fastest aircraft known to date... Probably cause it's black...

  • Doesnt get any cooler that this, awesome

  • This is how Batman travels.

  • mmh I am here to have fun

  • That is awesome!!!!

  • rubbish pilot, he should be out killing people with his Scar-h, stupid campers seriously with their 8 killstreaks

  • too bad they don't fly like this at airshows anymore

  • @americanemt231 yeah

  • The SR's leaking fuel rate was not considered that much worse than others of the era, and many think it had to refuel via tanker right after take off because so much leaked out. Actually, the plane could not safely take off on full tanks as I would have been too heavy if it lost an engine on take off. It also used pressurized nitrogen to fill the void of the tanks to prevent fumes from exploding that probably made the leaking seem worse. The amazing thing about it's performance was it's varia

  • OMG ITS THE XMEN!!!!

  • Love how he pulls out of burner around :16. Now everyone had air to breathe again.

  • The fastest airplane wow

  • ''Friendly SR-71 Inbound!!''

  • Ah 240p, we meet again!

  • It is probably leaking fuel everywhere because it is going so slow it can't warm up. For this aircraft anything below the sound barrier counts as a slow pass. Cool aircraft.

  • This is how the X-Men go to the grocery store.

  • @whosyodaddy13 fuck that this is a beer run

  • Haha and I thought SR-71's "dont do turns" [story reference for those who are about to argue].

  • Long time go, the day after the Paine Field Airfair ended, we were working close by when the SR 71 took off. I watched it leave, and thought that was the end of it but he came back over at treetop level! About thirty feet above the trees, about three hundred feet up. Sounded like a gas main blew up and believe me, the people came out of that office building like they were running a fifty yard dash. As he pulled up, I could see into the throat of the engines, it was like a fire-breathing dragon.

  • You really had to be there for this one.

  • the things i would do to fly in one

  • This and the F-117 were the coolest fucking planes EVER! Then the F-22 came about...

  • Whats so cool about this?

  • This is one of the experiences I missed that will be on my check list until I'm dead.

  • if i clicked on this video and it turned out to be a bird in a garden i would have laughed. xD

  • Oh my God... to see the Blackbird fly, and to stand there and feel that roar! I am incredibly jealous.

  • lil unkown fact on the ol' SR the skin of the aircraft caused fuel to leak everywhere up to and upon take off, it wasn't until it reached operational speed that the temperature and pressure would cause the skin to contract thus causing the fuel leaks to stop. I've had the personal pleasure of actually being on base with a few of these planes they are twice as amazing in person.

  • @shattered831 It leaked because all the hydraulics and fuel lines were on slip connectors because the plane expanded so much from from the heat, the connectors wouldn't seal until the plane came up to operating temp. I was Stationed at Beale

  • @shattered831 It would actually expand...

  • wo

  • I bet the person who filmed this had ringing in their ears for days after filming this...

  • Am I the only 12 year old who has knew about the SR-71 before black ops was thought of?

  • @firewurker nope! ive known about this thing ever since i was 6 and im now 13!

  • @firewurker i with u on yhat but im 13 naow

  • @firewurker NO! YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

  • @firewurker was my favorite jet was I was 9. 16 years ago.

  • @firewurker Your a rare breed.

  • @firewurker nahh i loved this plane since i was a little kid also its one of my favorites =]

  • @firewurker Nah. I'm 19, but I still knew about most of the shit that was in Black Ops yearssss before it came out.

  • @FiReStOrMWolverine - Really? Then what was its twin? ^_^

  • @zoomizoomzoomzam What, the Lockheed A-12?

  • The SR-71 was designed by the Skunk Works department at Lockheed Air Plane in the late 50's early 60's. The aircraft still holds the records of highest flying over 80,000 ft, and fastest at over mach 3 (2100 mph). It was a reconnaissance aircraft for both the CIA and the U.S. Air Force. It is retired at different locations across the United States.

  • "SR-71 READY FOR DEPLOYMENT!"

    "SR-71 IS IN THE AIR!"

    "THEY DESTROYED YOUR SR-71!'

    "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • 56 people are America haters who are butt hurt that this plane is American.

  • The SR71 reminds me of the Bat-wing

  • that plane made WAY ahead of its time dont yall think

  • @Callofdutyrox45 Tell that to the Avro Arrow.

  • @Apocol0id ;) couldn't have said it better, ahahaha "tell that to avro"

  • @Callofdutyrox45 uhhh ... no

  • Hmmm, the SR71 was decomissioned in the mid 1990's ( I subect do to reliance on satalite immagery), recommissioned in the late 1990's then decommisioned again. This Blackbird has a history that will not likely be duplicated. The SR71 was recommisioned in the late 1990's because the satalite technology could not keep up with the real time reconasince of this beautiful bird or failure of the aurora aircraft.. Upon decomissioning we clearly have better technology in satalites or the aurora.

  • did he cut back the right engine to bank like that? the flame seemed to fade approaching the turn.

  • 56 viewers are being viewed by spy satellites as we speak...please hold these red dots high over your heads. Why, no, they're not targets; why do you say that?

  • 56 people were there and shit their pants.

  • Where is Magneto?

  • Blackbird isnt a nickname its an official name of the aircraft (sr-71 blackbird)

  • WHEN WAS THIS!? i thought all of them had been decomisioned years ago

  • omg officialfeargaming's comment better be worth the time its talking to find it

  • Where are the X-Men going?! Magneto is over that way!! ------->

  • Now we need to see a flyby at mach 3

  • The fast plnae ever

  • so i'm ur Lady of Night ..and i know what u wanna get of me

  • lol look im buthurt and I waste my time posting responses to people in comments so that I can make myself seem cool lol. Also, this video r gay get life and stop posting kthx.

  • Our sr 71 is in the air

  • *Insert Black Ops refrence here*

  • Listen to them burners rip that air, awesome machine right out of area 51

  • 55 people's snapbacks flew away

  • Am I the only one who found it impossible to catch up with the SR-71 in F-16 Flight Simulator....even with Afterburners!

    :D

  • 8 KILL STREAK!

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Blackops fag, GTFO this vid.

  • @liljjisback ....... fag, GTFO this vid.

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 lol umad? Gtfo this video illiterate gamer fag.

  • @liljjisback I am mad? Not really, your the one bitching on the internet about a game, and I can read just fine... Calling me a fag doesn't really offend me.. I'm just saying, your just another troll. Lol, and it's not working..

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Lol me bitching, and your the one making the tl;dr reply's you should not even searched up blackbird videos unless its from black ops, now hush my lil gamer fag. :)

  • @liljjisback I was actually looking at St.Maarten low-fly videos... haha

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Why bother making BO comments, you know people are going to bombard you....

  • @liljjisback Nah, I expected people to thumbs up it (this video doesn't get enough constant views) But I also did expect that 1 fag to bash the comment, so I knew you were coming, therefore I don't care for your stupid ass reply.. I still wonder why I waste my time replying..

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Lol? so your saying your trying to be a thumb whore? L you fail being one.

  • @liljjisback Judging by having a 21,000+ as my highest, I personally believe I do not fail. However I will stop replying now, as I am just feeding the troll and getting nowhere.. Nice talking to you.

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 Lol, really pics or it didn't happen.

  • @HeroicHereticsHH3 pic or it didn't happen.

  • Sat in the cockpit once of one of these beautiful planes. It was tiny, but it will be something I will NEVER forget! =)

  • *jizz*

  • jetfire

  • The plane would leak fuel when the metal was cold due to the fact that it was built on purpose like that to withstand the heat it generated while it was flying at it's very high altitude. Once it warmed up the metal would expand and close the gaps.

  • Did it leak fuel everywhere when it went by?

  • @valcan321 i know that the sr71 did leak when it was on the ground and had to be re-fuled in the air after take off, something to do with how much heat it created and the expansion of the metal

  • They still have some Blackbirds operational?

  • look at how thin the BLACKBIRD is at 0:18

  • Masterpiece

  • SR-71 ONLINE

  • I wish to learn to fly. I will use the SR-71 as my trainer.

  • look at how thin the sr-71 is 0:18

  • i dont care what habu or shabah is to fighters. they still dont compare to the spookies or ghost riders

  • If I would have a dollar foor each pixel on that video, i would have 4 dollars

  • You just witnessed how hard the SR-71's computer will allow the aircraft to bank, and its hurry-up run to catch the KC-135 waiting for it at altitude.

  • My uncle saw one of these just before they went out and he said it was the loudest thing ever!!

  • Was that the loudest thing you ever heard?

  • A.W.E.S.O.M.E!

  • geil!

  • TITTIES!!

  • I've always wondered about the design on this aircraft, I can only assume the initial design meeting went something like this: "Gentlemen, we need to make the most badass looking jet in history. The DOD mentioned something about cameras and high something..err...I forget the details...so let's focus on the badass part"

  • @Xozmal Pretty sure those are the actual words of Kelly Johnson over at the Skunk Works.

  • @Xozmal kind of old response but the design is so radars cannot pick them up easy because the signals will bounce off that design

  • Just remember, this thing was built by engineers using slide rules and designers using pencils!

And it STILL holds the aircraft speed records.

  • @fightingfalconfilms they have one right as you walk into the omaha air and space museum in nebraska

  • May have been replaced by a satellite, but we should have kept them flying just for the bad-ass factor.

  • i knew coming into this video i would see comments about call of duty....

  • Anyone else think this is the jet Batman would pilot?

  • Kelly Johnson and his team were incredibly talented engineers.

  • Awesome-sauce

  • This plane and the Concorde are the most beautiful planes in the whole world..

  • @MrKillkivey I'd agree with the SR-71 part, but I think the XB-70 has the concorde beat in terms of looks...and speed haha :)

  • @americaHUMVEES Never heard of that plane, i'll look it up real quick

  • WHiowjiconjviklzjnivzhns\kjnvfvjdm nvfjgikdc nvhgfijkd,jfkmfvjfghjdkxv,okfids\ap;lL'POIW98OURFW9IKEWL

  • My father had a meeting for work with this older guy and by the end he got to talking with him to find out that he was the head engineer on the SR-71 and was the first to test fly it!

  • most beautiful aircraft ever built

  • EAR RAPE

  • and tell me that the guy taking this video is not deaf now.....

  • lol poor thing is going so slow she is about to fall out of the sky.

  • Whats the top speed an SR-71 could do at low-level?

  • @ToonandBBfan cruising speed for an sr71 is almost 4000 kilometers per hour...and the hull would heat up to 500 F...mehhh i dont know if it could fly that low and still do that speed because of friction so probably cruising speed at 80,000 feet would be top speed for low altitude.

  • @officialfeargaming Buddy, I know you're a chairbourne ranger by your user name. Aircraft have nick-names, and "Blackbird" happens to be the nick-name of the SR-71. It is also known as "Habu". Don't pretend you are some kind of expert because you read a wikipedia article. Now shoo boy, you got a big important match on your game, don't miss it!

  • @TTDMFfreaknew fuckn know it all

  • @TTDMFfreaknew Never heard habu before with relation to an SR-71. I have heard havblu, referring to the F-117 in its early stages of development before it had any other name. Possible confusion there or is habu legit?

  • @mjm9536 Habu is legit. It was more of a pilot used nick-name, kinda like how F-16 pilots call it the "Viper" instead of "Falcon". Speaking of the F-117, they gave them the callsign "Shabah" which, in arabic, loosley translates to "Ghost of the night", which is probably the most badass name ever.

  • @TTDMFfreaknew yes but i like to call things that its ORIGINAL name is

  • @officialfeargaming Then fuck off.

  • @officialfeargaming Hey, It's Original name was the Scout Recon 71 Blackbird, go back to masturbating...

  • @gvstaylor Actually, Air Force Chief of Staff General Curtis LeMay preferred the SR (Strategic Reconnaissance) designation and wanted the RS-71 to be named SR-71. Before the July speech, LeMay lobbied to modify Johnson's speech to read SR-71 instead of RS-71. The media transcript given to the press at the time still had the earlier RS-71 designation in places, creating the story that the president had misread the aircraft's designation.

  • @bradleymhunt ."Strategic Reconn". was Lemays main reason for tolerating the SR-71 in his operational budget, for the Habu was tasked for Reconn. missions after use of Lemays Nuclear Triad, the A/C would fly under SIOP( Single Integrated operational Plan)missions to determine if follow-on strikes were warranted, every Habu crew had to be SIOP certifed annually in the use of this highly classifed war plan......

  • @pipercub123456 - Lemay was looking for any reason to blow shit up - ANY! He was a crazy dude and thankfully there was a mix of people like him and those with calmer heads.

  • @SlamDuncDrummer ..Here's crazy..Oct, 1969- Operation "Gaint Lance"-- Nixon using his "Madman Theory of Coercive Diplomacy" ordered the JCS to direct SAC to respond to possible confrontation by the USSR -- SAC responded by ending all training flights, placing all active bombers on high ground alert and rotating 18 B-52s flying 18hr vigils over the pole as a" military signal" to the Soviets to start ending the war in Nam..

  • @pipercub123456 - wasn't that "chrome dome"?

  • @SlamDuncDrummer ..Chrome Dome went on for years, early 1960's thru 1980??and was S.O.P. for S.A.C., the CD flights "loitered" around the North America Continent-- Greenland--Alaska around the -- Dew Line AOC..however Gaint Lance in 1969 involved flying "stabbing approach sorties" around the North Polar Ice Cap towards the Soviet Union in "total secrecy" except to Russian AAW forces.most people don't have a clue for the dangerous games played during the Cold War.thx for the input

  • @pipercub123456 - thanks for the response.

You have the J-3 or the PA-18?

I recently sold my 1969 Cessna 337E and have begun to poke around for a Lancair IV (non-P) at a reasonable price.

  • Comment removed

  • @pipercub123456 - I hear ya. My first plane was a 1966 Cessna 150c. I put the STOL kit on it and the 8.50X6 tire, I mean inner-tubes on it :-).

With a good strong head wind I could land in about 10 feet. At times I could actually land in a square box as long as I didn't roll backwards :-).

I too am a wanna be bush pilot but I gave that up in favor of getting somewhere fast. The 337E was the first go around but is inefficient in terms of fuel for speed - only get 25% out of rear engine.

  • @officialfeargaming go back to playing black ops kid

  • @TTDMFfreaknew damn it now i have to search for what officialfeargaming said :\

  • @swgeek63092 yea, don't you hate when this happens. i hope its not too damn far down the line because now i'm curious

  • @TTDMFfreaknew i got a new nickname for the sr71..."the asspucker". thats what i would be calling it if i was the lucky pilot assigned to it. or how about..."the lottery". because you would feel like you won it if you got to fly it.

  • @officialfeargaming rofl. you got owned.

  • Comment removed

  • @kumasan727 "your a retart" LMFAO you twat LOL , quality video :D

  • @officialfeargaming and the one of the SR-71s nicknames is "blackbird" just like the F-16 is sometimes called "viper" and the F-117 is called "shaba" you really should do some research before making stupid comments

  • @officialfeargaming Your not a damn human your a damn Homo Sapien damnit!!!!!!

  • my cessna is faster!!

  • I thought these things were condemned to area 51

  • @meower9 they were top secret for a long time but they were declassified (well at least some of it, who knows what technologies it's hiding!) and has been retired since 1999.

  • @paLLfuckaLL Dude just fucking stop..did you just say that to go against what i just said?

  • @paLLfuckaLL no fukin fag I play bad company 2. and don't talk like ur not a nerd Motha fuka

  • @paLLfuckaLL fuking COD kid

  • Wow so surprising, no COD kids commenting
