This was one of the greatest shows I ever went to. Laser light effects and everything.
I remember part of the show at least. The cloud of smoke that started when the band stepped on stage hung around me up in the nosebleed seats. I didn't possess or light a thing.
This Album got panned hard back in the day...by the same Rolling Stone hippy douchebags. The same folks who would praise Springsteen or Dylan if they recorded their bowel movements.
Granted, Zeppelin of course can't be beaten. But Radio-active isn't a bad song, and it does remind me of high school. Although I must say...what was up with the pirate boots and baggy white pants???
wow this song really sucks i cant believe some "rock and roll" fans enjoy this. crap this kinda music is the definition of boring. Paige with no blues equals total shit. Long live Zeppelin and music with true blues in their core
i heard this song on the radio before seeing the music video, and i instantly knew it was Page on the guitar. his sound and style is so distinct, the chorus sounds like something he would play on a zep song.
When i saw this band they were the shit. Tony played the most amazing "hendix" solo on his bass. Jimmy was on top of his game, and Paul...what more can be said about Paul Rogers? Pure power and soul.
It's Chris Slade. First notable work was as the drummer for Manfred Mann's Earth Band but was later AC/DC's drummer for a few years in the early 1990's until Phil Rudd came back.
I love Page, but yeah, this solo always seemed pretty weird to me, not in a good way. But... in Steve Rosen's book FREE AT LAST: THE STORY OF FREE AND BAD COMPANY, Paul Rogers claims to have played the guitar solo on this song (!!!), which would explain how "un-Pagey" it sounds. The exact quote is on p. 197, in a chapter about the Firm: "'We did a lot of different things; 'Radioactive' was strangely unique,' reflects Rogers. 'I played the guitar solo on that.'"
jimmy page would always make great songs doesn't matter where he goes the firm led zeppelin etc. zeppelin is the greatest band and jimmy is a god to me
i love zeppelin, and i love free and paul rogers work inj bad company and queen, and chris slades drumming on acdc's razors edge but this it fuckin pretty shit.
The guitar part that Jimmy plays with the sound effect on it. (Whatever it is.) It sounds New Wave! Like something Devo or someone like them would do.

Although now that I am aware of it I can clearly recognize his style when listining. I guess it's never too late to learn something new. What an interesting discovery for me. Thanks for posting this!
Hah! We had better expectations in the 80's when my friends and I had heard that Rodgers and Page were teaming up together. And then they give us this garbage. One of the worst songs of all time. At least some of their tracks fared a little better.
