One of the things that happens to "the people" (of the U.S.) is that we seem to be associated with our leaders, when they make colassal mistakes, and yet disassociated when they create the policy that creates them. It can't be both. We are not innocent, but certainly cannot be held responsible for power we have been divested of for nearly a generation. We emit carbon because our power plants were designed by coal companies subsidised by tax dollars without our consent. Give us a break!
