@posada37 actually it was in the mid 1900's (1961), and it had a more than moderate acceptance by scientists at the time. of course those that disagreed with it was because of the uncertainty of the factors involved. but then again, it was only meant as a jumping off point for further discussion on the subject, not an absolute; and it still being used.

why not give beleif a shot? seems kinda sensible that SOMEWHERE in this universe there are planets with biologically sustainable conditions, Earth's conditions arent the only acceptable conditions, They are just the conditions we as a species evolved in. Look at grade 11 bio class, there are ancient bacteria which live in completely unorthodox conditions, intense Heat(Volcanoes, heat vents), Salt, and Methane. And still, thats on Earth. There's definitely planets out there with adapted life.
