In the end, Erdrick's Sword, Shield, Helmet, Gauntlets, Armour, and Boots all become rusty, and millenia later, A Celestrian Hero must find the items, combine them with 9 pieces of Glass Frit, and a piece of Orichalcum for each, to restore the Equipment of Erdrick to their former glory.
Awesome video and an incredible party. When I got rid of all my NES games years ago...this was one so hard to part with since I had my party at max level and it had taken so so long to get them there. I think it's time to check out eBay for a used copy...emulation just isn't the same! Thanks again, and you are spot on about the PoC...he becomes a force to contend with once he's leveled up. A lot of people seem to hate this game but I think it's one of the best!
A classic game. I spent hours playing this game as a kid. I thought it would never end, but I was sad when it did. It took me almost a year to beat it.
I lived this game as a kid when it first game out after DW1. I made it all the way to Malroth but could never beat him. Glad vids like these on youtube exist to see how they end. Seems silly, but in a way it brings closure.
I know wha you mean. It also saves hours since we're older now and can't usually afford to sit in front of a tv/computer all day just to beat an old game.
I keep getting bad upgrades to HP for the prince of Lorasia/Midenhall on level up. I'm level 8 and only have 61 HP. Do I need to start over and hope for better rolls or what?
Perhaps a late reply but all stats in DW2 are fixed at level up and won't change depending on what you do in the game. 61HP is ok if you have not progressed further than the town of Hamlin.
Exactly. No matter what you do in the game it wont change the stats that you get when leveling up. Try it out by leveling the first character to level 4 write down each stat increase on a piece of paper and then restart without saving and do it again. Then check your note on each level. You will see that nothing has changed. Should be the same for every character. The best way and less time consuming is to compare DW2 endings on youtube. Look at the stats they have. I'm sure they are identical.
The reason I say that you should compare the endings is that those people often took the time to level up their chars to max and that's why it's the best way to see if something deviates from the standard, which it shouldn't. Don't bother with speed runs though because those chars are often not at max level.
Is it just my copy or do the enemies appear in this game just way too much!? I just finished it for the first time and it was ridiculously hard but the enemies coming at you almost every step, I threw the controller numerous times. I would kill em take a step and then there would be more. Yes, some times I could walk a ways but not very often. Did you notice this? I kept wondering why they programmed it like that it was just ridiculous to me! It kept pissing me off!
Dragon Quest is what the original game was called in Japan. When it was exported to the rest of the world they changed the name to Dragon Warrior for whatever reason, up until IV, after that they stayed in Japan. Then when Dragon Quest VIII came out they used the original name of the series instead, in an attempt to avoid confusion I guess.
Hmm.. I always wondered that. I loved Dragon Warrior one! Back in the day it was my favorite game. The only other one I played was Dragon Warrior v11. Which I beat.. Anyways thanks a shit ton.
This may be old news to you now (since the comment I'm replying to is three months old) but the reason the English versions were called Dragon Warrior for so long was because of copyright issues.
Outside Japan the name "DragonQuest" was already owned by a company that made a tabletop RPG called that, so Enix had to use a different name. It was only recently that the copyright expired, and Square-Enix grabbed it as soon as it did, which is why it's called Dragon Quest out here as well now.

Sun Crest - Top right corner of the fire monolith.
Water Crest - Behind the prison doors in Hamlin
Life Crest - Cave to Rhone.

I just got the Wind Cape, and my hero is at level 14. Should I level him more before I go further into the game?

I would have rather them keep it Dragon Warrior over in the U.S.

I agree, Dragon Warrior is a much better name

@1whoistornapart It was initially called Dragon Warrior to avoid infringing on a game that was already called Dragon Quest.
