  • Sound nice!

  • The hemi heads are REAL....NOT just covers. The heads are from an engine that was built in the late 60's, but the original design of the block was from 1937. This is a marriage of a 1940 block, and 1966 heads. THIS IS A TRUE OHV conversion, NOT a disguised flathead.

  • Why would you put those tall cover on a pair of flat heads when the whole thing about them is that they flat! And look cool like that?

  • @smithraymond09029 They aren't covers dude... Look at where the intake manifold goes.... directly to the heads! Standard flathead Ford has a narrow intake that bolts to the block. Look at the exhaust... 4 tubes per side bolted to the heads. Standard flathead exhaust is 3 tubes bolted to the side of the block.

  • @smithraymond09029 they are hemis not flatehads!

  • now that's cool.

  • 1 hp per cubic inch is very good.

  • Your making 160+HP from 158", That's pretty decent, most factory production motors only make about 3/4 HP per inch.

  • I live in Brazil, and I my uncle talks about theses Simca motors, they where built in the 60's. They where known as "hemisul" because of these hemispheric chambers, far superior than the flatehead units. I assume these heads where based on the legendary Ardun heads, correct?

  • The engine makes 160 hp "plus",........ since the heads were from an engine that made 140 hp with just a single 2 barrel. The engine now has 158 c.i. instead of 135.

  • How much power does it make?

  • oh wow thats quite a bit. cool engine though

  • wow how much did that cost to build?

and how much were the heads?

  • The heads came from Brazil, and the shipping cost was more then the parts. It would cost $5,000 for parts, (not the heads) and not counting all of the custom made parts to "marry" the two era's of V8 60's. The heads would be the hard parts to find. Thanks, Doug
