  • I completely disagree about it not being in a golden's nature to protect their owners. Sure they might no immediately jump on an intruder, but if a person was physically trying to hurt you they would. They love their owners and if the people they love are in danger they will protect you. We used to not be able to scream while we were water skiing or anything because if my golden thought we were in danger there was no stopping him from coming to are rescue.

  • when i first got my golden retriever she was so cute :) i had the best puppy but they grow up too fast! in only 2 months she was to big to carry

  • Nice video with a lot of useful information, I use it for my website meandmydogtips. Thank you for sharing!

  • Training golden retriever puppies sounds like an awesome job!!!

  • one day in the summer it was in the middle of night there was a fire in the land near our home so my golden started barking to us and all of our nighbors to put down the fire golden retrievers are the coolest

  • Gr's are my 2nd favorite breed of dog :) Border collies being the first, They are both so loyal, smart and active :D Really want to get one of each when i move out :)

  • golden retriever: THE dog!

  • Believe it or not, this is one of my favorite breeds. They are highly loyal and obedient, and some are very good-looking. But of course, I prefer dogs such as European working line Dobermanns over breeds like these.

  • :D

  • I like these doggies too

  • @Dolphingerman tell her that little dogs dont play and bite you

  • The voice guy sounds like the one on Disney channel! lol

  • Im getting one today hopefully.

    I NEED ADVICE....

    LIKE A PARAGRAPH!

  • just smoke weed around your dogs . it might cure them from cancer

  • I want this dog so cute. my fav

  • I don't think 1/4 for protection is right. My Golden is pretty protective. Once my sister came home at the middle of the night, and he started barking because he wasn't sure who was going to come in since none of us comes home so late. Goldens are the best.

  • @fireangel240 if someone were to kick my head in,i know for a fact my golden would step up like she has, and shes not even a year until next month :-) great dogs !

  • @fireangel240 You will get the odd one that will protect you. But its unsual. There such friendly dogs that they would more than likely like a robber to death. But i do think that if you have a good bond with your dog it will protect you. Its just not usually in there nature.

  • @fireangel240 Different dogs have different temperaments.

  • @fireangel240 Not as good as alsatians; golden will bark - but thats that lol!

  • cancer?! :(

  • What a beautiful kind of dog.

  • i got my golden from the shelter, and it wont play with me D: and hes 1 and a half years(human time)

  • @rctriplefresh5 that's what i said... now i have two :D

  • I wouldn't give them 1 out of 4 for protection, my golden could sense when people were sketched out. He went after this one worker at our house and it turned out he had just got out of jail. He also chased my dads friend off our deck when he tried to drop off something for us at the back of the house when we weren't home

  • dude that's not true. my golden chance FLIPPED if any male came into the house he didn't know. and by flipped, i mean he would try to rip their face off. they are PHENOMENAL dogs. beautiful, sweet, gentle, and playful. :)

  • 2:37 sup biotch?

  • golden retrievers are gentle for children too.

  • Which one is better golden or labrador ?

  • i have one :) he's a real great dog , funny and sweet. if you're sad you can always go to your dog , they really help you :) it's amazing and i love my dog soo much, and golden's are indeed weak of diseases , mine dog has epilepsy. but we take gooooood care of him ;) x i love my doggieeee <3

  • Nice video, i am fun golden

  • I love my golden so much.

  • AWWWWWWW.... DUGGGGG!!!

  • love goldens. best dogs ever.

  • Soooooooooo cute!!!!! If were lucky we might get one.

  • I had a golden retriever, his name was Mike, he died last Saturday from lymphoma or some disease and we came home and found him dead with a pile of blood on the floor then brought him over to the emergency vet clinic. It was a Sad Weekend :(

    R.I.P. Mike: August/28/2004-April/30/2011

  • I have a golden retriever and he just turned one the other day. All i can say he is the nicest dog and fun dog ever. they are also AMAZING family dogs lol

  • Loving Dogs! :)

  • Our family never had a pet, ever. I wonder if a dog like a Golden would be good for us? We have a small yard (i know, not enough place for them to run around) and my brother and I are both in our late teens.

  • @chanteusesanders you would have to take them for frequent walks when the weather allows. Goldies are good fro any age. Seriously. Good with babies; toddlers, teens, and adults and seniors.

  • They are wonderful dogs! They are always willing to play and spend time with you. They are the friendliest breed imaginable. Goldens are special.

  • My aunt had one, such a great dog!

    Wish she got another. :(

  • Best breed. This is what I call a REAL dog!

  • My golden was a great family dog. They are tops for obediance training since they will do anything to make you happy. One caveat though, they don't attain that famous mellow personality until later in life. Until they are about 4 they are ultra high energy and high drive and can knock down children and be very demanding in their eagerness to play.

  • I just got my Golden 3 weeks ago, the best dog ever! Her name is Brandy, very smart dogs.

  • @SaberRulz2010 Lol when I bought my Golden, her name was Brandy too! But Brandy was only the name on her purebred certificate, we didn't call her that since we don't like the name. We changed the name, but I won't spread the name on the internet.

  • lab is better

  • @2007DEACON well hell ya

  • My Bear dog who we put down last week was very protective of all of us. I miss him so much ! He was 14yrs old and the few days before we put him down he couldnt get up to go outside he peed himself and he would just lay there and whine it was so sad I miss him soo much I still look for him then I realize he isnt here anymore =(

  • I love my goldie. :]

  • Go to your address bar, after the word YOU and before the word TUBE, type in "win" then press enter

  • Our golden won't retrieve anything,he just takes the ball and lies down to chew on it.We did get him form a proper breeder. We traveled for 2 hours each way to get him.Nearly left him as his right paw kept shaking, turns out that he was just overweight. That said,he does have a single black hair on his neck.

  • We had to put ours down but she was by far the best dog weve ever had! I dont feel like i agree with only two bones for protection...Ours would let kids, puppies, kittens, you name it...crawl all over her but let another animal or person hurt us, and its on!

  • There such Playful-Energetic, and fun beutiful dogs.

  • i have a 5-month-old golden named whiskey and he's the most beautiful thing in the world.

  • these dogs are gorgeous... :)

  • @TheMecob3 Much as I hate ads. The fact is advertisements are what's making youtube free. Bandwidth cost money so with ads you have a free place to view stuff like this or upload your own vids. And if you're a youtube partner; even earn money from the ads.

  • Dogs teach us lessons. A Golden Retriever teaches us to be kind, a Greyhound teaches us to be grateful, a Tibetan Mastiff teaches us to be loyal. And much more.

  • I'm getting a dog, I need help deciding between Labrador retrievers and Golden retrievers.

  • @rayzrblayd24 go golden! I've had a golden for the past 12 years, best dog in the world!

  • @rayzrblayd24 im in the same situation people are saying labs are great but i want a retriever If you have choose one do a video on her/ him Thanks

  • @rayzrblayd24 golden

  • @rayzrblayd24 both!

  • @rayzrblayd24 - get both!

  • @rayzrblayd24 golden.. no doubt

  • @rayzrblayd24 golden retriever, am i too late?

  • @rayzrblayd24 Golden Retriever.

  • @rayzrblayd24 gldens they are great

  • @rayzrblayd24 If U Mind The Great Sized Goldens, Take It.

  • @rayzrblayd24 if you are a male, FUCK YOU WIMP buy a rottweiler

  • @rocknroll576 Hah, keeping a Rottweiler only proves that you're a wimp and need a real male to keep you safe.

  • @rocknroll576 lol ive seen grown up men carrying around chiuauas... And im a male and i would rather have a golden then a rottweiler actually...problem troll?

  • @rayzrblayd24 i didnt get him for protection

  • @rocknroll576 Sure.

  • We are on our third golden girl and these are wonderful members of the family. Smart, so eager to please and loving to all. If you're thinking of one, don't let the shedding put you off, some shed a lot, some comparativley little. But do get health certs (hip, eye, heart, elbow) from good health authorities for both parents (and grandparents if possible). A reputable breeder (often a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America) will have these certificates at the ready for you.

  • i really really really want one! but they shed too much. :(

  • @xoHugzKissesxo not that much....at least mine doesn't....it sheds, but a lot less than a cat

  • down at the park where igtake my staffy x is ollie or oliver a G R but hes a od type so he has the really big long coats i love that type f goldies i dont like the type with shorter coats

  • knock me I am from Asian # lushfmlk.info #

  • @Dolphingerman i have a suggestion get a toy or miniture poodle like the retriver they are also easy to train and also they are also very loyal

  • F5 skip ads :)

  • @NobodyXChallenger This actually works!!!!

    Thanks for this amazing tip!!

  • @Dolphingerman Hello Dolphingerman. Yes goldens are extremely easy to train, and they love to have guests over. If your mom prefers a small dog that is easy to train I would recommend a Bichon Frise or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Sit down and have a logical talk with your mom, and try to come up with a compromise.

  • i have a golden retreiver yellow lab mix i got from a pound and when people nock on the door he will growl and lunge then lick them to death.....its really weird they make good whatch dogs but not goo guard dog.......please adopt save a life

  • You really have to be careful picking out a breeder for goldens. We got ours, and she was allergic to EVERYTHING. Seriously. We had to buy special food from our vet, and give her injections ourselves every week, But sadly, we had to put her to sleep at the age of 9. RIP Angel.

she really was a great, loyal, dog

  • Wonderful dogs!!! Although they make terrible guard dogs. lol. I have a golden and everybody is his best friend.

  • I agree advertisments are on just about every video

  • I have a 4 yr. old g.r i hope he dosent have cancer

  • i"m going to get my golden Retriever soon!

And everyone who wants to get a dog...PLEASE do not buy a dog from a Pet store, they come from puppy mills! Get a decent breeder, eventhough they cost more!

  • @caromonsta There are also lots of rescues for thoroughbred dogs...check those out too. They may be less expensive.

  • Want one...

  • I absolutely adore my golden. :] She's an angel.

  • press F5 so skip commercials!!

  • Goldens are amazing. I have had several of them. And sadly, my oldest baby is getting bad arthritis. He's the best dog I have ever known. They can too be protective if they sense that you're uncomfortable. Overall, they love everybody, they're clowns, goofy, and have hearts of gold.

  • i currently have a shih tzu its rly cute but its a companion dog , i always wanted golden retriever , i think i will get one soon if i find

  • no dog should get a 1/4 for protection

  • There is no such thing as the best dog. It's a subjective matter. Everybody has their own taste and that's why dogs were created. My personal favorite happens to be the Golden because it's personality fits my bill as an ideal pet. My Golden is just how this video describes it. He's gentle, affectionate, cheerful, obedient, and gets along well with strangers and other dogs. He's blessing to me in this caotic and cruel world. And i would define the Golden in general that way too. :)

  • simply the best dogs on the earth

  • what would u rather get... a golden retriever or a german shepherd???

  • @datpimpinboy goldens are the best,...but i do like shepherds..

  • f5 to skip ads

  • @MrTrelapeek ..ty soooo much!!!

  • @wilatemodel no prob. i read it off a comment on another video and it saved my life haha! i probably wouldve killed myself if the ads didnt stop

  • gotta love goldens:)

  • The only bad thing with a golden retriever is if someone breaks in your home. Ur dog would more likely play with him xD

  • my golden retriever is sooooo cute. but, of course, all golden retrievers are cute :)

  • I grew up with these wonderful dogs :-). They're the most beautiful, affectionate and sweetest-tempered animals in the world! And talk about personality!

  • BEST. DOG. IN DA UNIVERSE! ;)

  • I have a Golden Retriever (Duke) and he's such a great dog and serves as a pillow! He's such a goofball...clam and hyper at the same time. I do argue with this, though...he is a pretty good guard dog. He barks when strangers come to the door, but not when people he knows come.

  • best dog ever! i have it!

  • how do you train a golden to sniff for something. i wanna do that

  • BEST DOG EVER

  • i like goldens but i like german shepherds better because goldens are like more mellow than a bloodhound because in protection the bloodhound has 3 or 2 treats and the german shepherd of course has 4 i have a bloodhound and i might be getting a german shepherd but when i was little i had a golden for a while.

  • there is better dogs

  • My Golden always drops his fur ..

  • I have a lab/retriever mix - red short coat. He is crazy, but so loyal. He loves to save the planet from evil (lol) I got the best of both breeds. Buddy does need a lot of attention, but thats ok, he gives a lot of love too

  • @ 0:29. How can U confuse a Golden Retriever with a Yellow Lab?

U can always tell the diference, Yellow Labs have shorter hair and Goldens have longer hair.

  • lovely dovely :)

  • Man I love these dogs so much, I want another one

  • I just got a 7 month old pure breed golden a few days ago. Hes adapted to us well and we love him! <3 I love goldens ^^

  • i have a golden retriever puppy, her name is chloe:)

  • The best best friend you can ever have. I miss my one boy (RIP), my other two are doing great :). Golden's are prone to a lot of diseases so you really need to keep an eye on their health! But they really are the kindest at heart, we can all learn from them. Oh and they are BEAUTIFUL

  • @katrinalol the things which effect thier health like cancer and the hip thing, can they be sorted out by the vet?

  • @katrinalol i will never get another golden. my boy jsut died of cancer at 8.

  • @rctriplefresh5 So sorry to hear that. I own a sheltie, and it would break my heart, if my little buddy passed, although we all know they will sometime :(

  • My golden is going to turn 13 in a week in a half. I had to move away for college but I call home a lot just to ask about her. She is so sweet when I come home, even though I have been gone for months! I love this breed. They are patient, loyal and so super friendly-they put up with everything. The only thing that is bad about them, they can't help. They just don't live long enough!

  • they are good dogs!:D

  • My uncle had a golden cross black lab called jess he got her when i was a baby and i used to play with her all the time and she loved kids. But she got put down 2 days ago because she had a liver problem i was so sad :( My other uncle has a golden cross border collie called lucy and she is completley different she loves everyone in our family and loves to play but if my uncle is at work she will snarl at certain ppl. Its actually quite funny to watch because some ppl she is fine with.

  • She is really a big softy though. I luv her to death. she is about 5 now and she chases all other animals she chases cats, cows, sheep, horses, rabbits ect. she is a really good guard dog. She would bite some one if they tried to break into their house. But shes soo sweet to everyone else even if she doesnt seem it lol. I really want to get a pure breed golden since they are good family dogs and great companions . could anyone tell me how much they cost?

  • Goldens are the best! They want nothing more than your attention and admiration and will go out of their way to get it! I had the privilage of having a golden friend for eight short years and it was amazing!

  • Golden Retrievers are AMAZING! They're so awesome! They are so nice and they love to lick people! So sweet! My Golden Retriever, Fathom is a great dog! He does agility and he loves swimming. He loves people and other dogs! Golden Retrievers are SUPER-COOL!

  • Golden's are the best dogs ever!

  • golden or lab?

  • I miss my golden T0T

since I had to move into an apartment w/ no pets allowed I had to give away my golden to my sisters friend, ):

  • @BboyHush123 yer an ass..

  • my Goldens dad is the #5 Golden in the US. and my golden is really beautiful and nice. He did get sick once when he was 3 and now hes 4. Hes a great dog. He even goes and gets the newspaper in the mornings

  • aww, my mom had to put down her Golden because it had arthritis so bad. :(

  • i'm getting a puppy in march and i'm trying to convince my parents that a golden is the right choice! They're great dogs

  • I want one too BUT MY DAD SAYS TOO BIG BIG POOPOO LOL AND LONG HAIR but their not too bad at all

  • Golden Retrievers are the absolute best dog!!

  • god advertisements are destroying youtube

  • @TheMecob3 Hey! Do U want to start paying for youtube or do U want to watch 20 second ads?

  • @jotoew

How about neither? I want the old youtube back.

  • @TheMecob3

Yeah, I know right? Stupid ads!

  • @TheMecob3 Yes yes they are.

  • @TheMecob3 predss f5 to skip adds :)

  • lol they are FUCKING smart why do you think the cops use them as well as labs they have an amazing sense of smell also

  • keep commends like that to yourself!!! If you don't like goldens then dont you not have to write mean stuff like that. I love golden retrievers, becouse thay are so loyal, cute and I can't ressist the gold coat and big brown eyes. Goldens are adorable companion dogs. I wish I had one!!!...

  • Comment removed

  • How u kno that they good companion dogs cuz u said u aint got one

  • @Tunknatar Couse I don't have one it doesn't mean I don't know anything about them. They are adorable dogs. Yes they are. Look. For my hole life time I dreamed to have one. I helped my friends with training their goldens. They are so layal. They never have a bad day. I know goldens so Like I know how they are. I have 29 golden books. I see them on the streets. I can tell lots about a dog just by looking at their relationship.

  • i like the golden retriever irish setter crosses;)

  • I like field bred goldens, which look almost exactly like setter crosses.

  • If I were to ever get a dog, the Golden Retriever would be one of the three breeds I would look at. The other two would be the German Shepherd and the Poodle. All very smart dogs.

  • My nan has a golden retriever. She even sits and watches tv with my nan. its actually a bit amusing to watch her watch tv. Especialy when animals are on the box.

  • The poodle seems such a completely volteface of choice compared to your other two. XDDDD

  • My parents had a toy poodle when I was a lot younger. What can I say. Besides, they are incredibly intelligent. The whole sissy's dog image isn't entirely deserved. Poodles were originally water dogs (hence the fur texture and outrageous hair cuts).

  • my friend has the most beautiful golden retriever, shes so cute, shes small and allergic to grass and has a heart murmur.. but she smells sooo good, better than my girlfriend haha!

  • I WANT ONE :D

  • I have a six year old male golden retriever and he is absoloutely fantastic so playful , loves sticks and balls and really loves attention and likes to give you a shoe when you return home , they are fantastic with children he never bats and eyelid when kids stroke him or play with him. i would reccomend them to anyone who wants a loving companion a good family dog and a lot of fun moments.

  • angel14395 golden are better. They are most popular breeds, intelligent, they love their family and they great with kids and older people

  • hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! natali i was wondering do you have one golden retriever if you do can u help me how to take care for one at school????

    (jis) right

  • no i dont have a golden, but i wish i could. well... goldens need lots of exercise but i think you could take it before and after the school. training and playing are also really important. Good luck natalia.

  • some dude broke into our house

and my golden was like "PET ME PET ME!!!!"

it was cute, but really scary

  • Goldens are the BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've lost one to Cancer at age 6, but still have his half-sister and she is simply beautiful and so very loving and smart! They are God's gift to us!

  • I have Golden fever! 97% of my videos are of my goldens LOL.

  • my mom had a golden when me and my sis were little he died of someting infected in his paw I think it was canser probally.... his name was rusty and he was so sweet he was like marley form marley and me but a little better marley is a 10 in the bad level rusty was a 2 or 3 that's what my mom said she loved that dog we are thinking aobut getting a female golden if any one can give me some breeders names that would be great!!

  • Can these dog` s live with birds?

  • is labs or goldens better?

  • I have a golden retriever and my family has a yellow lab. In my opinion the golden is much more mellow and cuddly. The lab tends to be very hyper. My dog is great with the kids and the is best friends with our cat.

  • @angel14395

    goldens are better

  • I have owned both a black lab and a golden retriever, so it really depends on what you want out of the companionship. Labs do tend to be more energetic and need lots of time to play and space to romp. They are also better guard dogs then goldens. Both breeds are extremely trainable, often anxious to please but labs can be slightly more stubborn. Retrievers do have a risk of more health problems but they are a very friendly mellow dog, often good with small children and elderly.

  • Actually, it depends on the strain. Field line goldens are very, very energetic. They are like golden border collies.

Show line goldens tend to be mellower.

Field line Lab from America tend to be even more energetic than any golden, simply because to do well at trials, they have to be full of energy.
