hey, you'r waisting some precious time by drawing lines and filling with precision...

could seem weird, but If you start with a big color shape of you'r subject (with a sketch layer aboce if you need) you'll go really faster an better, for you control your colors!

that makes sense, simply genius, so after the gray tones it was dark and light tones on top of the gray with a fuzzy brush to give it shadows over the details. thats cool. thanks

Just curious what photoshop tool were you using at 1:10? It looked like a overlay mask beyond that my understanding went ka-put

It was actually pretty simple, lol. I just made a new layer under the one that I used for the lines and filled in with gray tones. I then used levels and color balance to change the gray color to the one I wanted.

Ahah, about that...yeah, I can't really pull off tutorials. I suggest just looking around the internet for things, or going to ur nearest bookstore (Photoshop 7 for Dummies?). I myself picked up my techniques from experimenting with things on Photoshop and watching various speed-drawing vids here on Youtube.

Well, haha, being able to draw dragons just requires relentless practice (I'm able to draw like this only after 7 years of instruction) and trial and error. There is no clear guide, but I'm sure that there are books that can help you (try amazon or barnes&noble, they have a lot of great books; I myself recommend Dragonart by J. Peffer).

As for speed drawing vids, it's pretty simple. Just record yourself drawing the picture for the whole time (either camera for real life drawing or on-screen recorders for photoshop and stuff), move the video into an editing program (I just use windows movie maker) speed up the speed of the video depending on how fast you want it, save the project as a movie file, and you'll be done. :D
