  • That's a funny story. Love the wonderful word play. Thanks for posting!

  • Is That A Diamond Disc On A REgular Record Player Beacuse I Thought We Needed A Diamond Disc Player?

  • Yup that's a Diamond Disc. A stereo pick up moves up and down as well as side to side. All you gotta do to get it to play an Edison is rewire one channel from the cartridge out of phase (reverse polarity) with the other and mix it down to mono. Older pre-amplifiers had a switch to do that. I had a Harmon Kardon and used to wonder why it had a phase switch. Wish I still had it.

  • @Jiggys78s You can also play Diamond Discs on any turntable that is hooked to or part of a Stereo System with a Balance Control, providing of course that the turntable has 78 speed capability. In order to play the Diamond Disc on such a setup, you must turn the balance control all the way to left or to right, as you will get nothing but silence with the balance centered as it usually is.

  • is that garrard mounted on a speaker box with a homemade amp

  • Mounted? Umm... well, gravity holds it on top of a couple 15 inch sub boxes. The amp is my reciever on top of my computer desk. My sound comes out of the tape out on that. And I mute the camera sound and paste the mp3 made at the same time as the vid with Movie Maker.
