I was enjoying this very much until I realized on the album (yes vinyl) this song transitions into Rasputin with no noticable break, guess I'll have to get it out and give it a good listen. Besides the speakers on my laptop just don't crank enough to do it justice.
my brothers and i used to listen to this song over and over and over, whenever we went to my brother and sister-in-laws. she would eventually have to take the record and hide it from us so we would stop playing it.
My Dad bought this fancy Pioneer stereo back in the early 80's and along with "Grease" this was one on the records he bought. My sister and I grew up with it and we LOVED this song we used to pretend we were flying over to Venus on our spaceships LOL!
i was lucky and missed the disco portion of the 70's, love some of the music, and remember my brother getting dressed up for the night out with the group, was funny to watch him try and imitate john travolta.. lol
Actually, day or night would not matter as departure angle and aceleration will detumine the orbital break away. So a night launch is actually better as you will be using a sling shot around the Earth to help you along to break away speed.
Oddly enough, night is the worst time to take off for Venus. To get to Venus you have to fly towards the sun, and that's best done during the day when the sun isn't on the other side of the planet.
Of course they were probably talking figuratively about Venus the goddess of love and beauty, in which case, night is the best time to explore that. ;-)
Although heavily edited here, the drummer used to play all the way through this track, no breaks, no loops, no computer assistance. He was exhausted after every performance, as were everyone on the dancefloor, I seem to rember, ha! Incredible stuff.
buf, que pasada, llevo años buscando el video de este tema y aqui lo tengo, una autentica rareza, una joya. Algo que parecia imposible hoy se ha hecho realidad. Gracias, chile.

I always thought the Drum beat was the best and the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica was so cool I was maybe 4 when I first heard this song!

Speaking of similarities, has anyone heard Cozy Powell's Dance with the devil and seen how similar this and that are?

Nightflight to Venus, een titel om bij weg te dromen.
Zou iets zijn voor een science fiction film.

I'd have liked to see the percussion, but it's lip-sync. Does anybody know who was the drummer in this song?
Me gustaría haber visto la percusión, pero van moviendo los labios, con música envasada.
¿Sabe alguien quién fue el baterista en esta canción?
Greetings from the South of Chile! :D
