He's doing well in Dallas and he was a formidable backup in Vancouver last year.

It's easy to look good with a team like Vancouver playing infront of you and he only played a handful of games so his starts were inflated. For a goaltender that they played himself off the team it is the right thing to do to buy him out and spend off to find a situation where he'd get a chance to play.
Remind the organization that has giving him the oppertunity to establish himself? Which gave him his best contract?
Anyone who performs in Toronto is treated as a demigod. Raycorft just isn't a starting goaltender, that's his shortcoming not the Leafs.

Ive also heard that about the flyers (no offense flyers fans) but emery seems pretty good for them so maybe there streak is gone. so maybe the leafs streak will be gon to. all went down hill since belfour left. Raycroft not bad at the start. but..... oh well giguere might be our savior

Agree, flyers have had goalie problems since Cechmanek retired. But Emery have done well for them this year.

And to answer your question, the reason there are so many mongoloids in Vancouver is simply because they keep moving here from Toronto. We put up a sign for them to keep out a few years back but as it turns out they can't read.

im a leafs fan speaking on behalf of the Oilers...Edmonton has a shorter history than Vancouver but has more cups with 4...so I wouldnt bash them if i where you...and dont say anything about the leafs only winning 13 cups back in the original 6 era either...because they are a team with a long rich history and has more popularity than the canucks will ever have!

Who gives a shit about history? Canucks have been better in the 21st century (except when the Oilers got Pronger that one year). Also, the Oilers won 4 cups because they had wayne Gretzky, and that's it.

He WAS a bad goalie. He did have some good games and he made some tremendous saves but he let in way too many soft goals and when goalies are always making mistakes like Raycroft did in Toronto that's going to cost a team games. Raycroft was consistent in that regard. Good riddance to him.

Oh he had a great rookie season, no doubt about that. After that, downhill. If he was so great why do you think the Bruins unloaded him? And look at him now - back-up goalie who hardly gets to play. Colorado gave up on him too. Not too impressive.
