To remove the water that pools in there, remove one of the black plugs to drain it out

Hi, I have a polo and it developed the same leak. In the end, water was leaking through the seal that sits behind the rear lamps. Remove the lamp unit, remove the old seal, and installa new ones. The seals only cost a few quid.
