sapirichka - the ballerinas of the Mariinksy are VERY long these days (too long in my opinion). Although they may appear tall, they are just proportioned - they are probably not over 5'5'' en pointe. I've noticed that the quickness of petite allegro has suffered as a result of this "new" trend in ballerinas (we can thank Balanchine for this). Many of their legs are far too long, & as such the ability for quick entrechats & various batterie suffers.

no way. first of all I think that being a tall ballering is beauriful! and on stage in an adagio it's abseloutly gourges!!

beside that,those ballerinas are probably 5'8 not on pointe!juse like alina somova. she's so tall and beautiful!

i don't know what size they are ^^. i just know, that i watched it on new year and have it on video, and this video on youtube is a bit stretched (just a little little bit ^^). that's all ^^. but i could think, that they are quite tall, surely 1.70 and maybe more :-p
