I like people asking what the "point" of this is. The "point" is that this guy figured out a really cool device that adds a dimension to the potential for paintball markers. What's the point of complaining?

Think of it this way, if you put 2 barrels on there, either identical ones or not, if youre in a firefight and have a ball break in your barrel and dont have time to swab it, you just swap to the other barrel in 2 seconds and youre good to go till you can find time to clean the other. Also if they make it work with the flatline sometime, you can have a sniper barrel, and an assault barrel, since you dont want to fire full auto in a flatline

If you have apex on one barrel and no apex on the other, it will take about the same time to switch apex on and off as turning this thing. Flatline wont work since its too big, and the same goes for shrouds. during tourney play, the velocity might change so its fucked. And if you want to remove ballbreaks, just get a ceramic barrel, 2 shots and its all clean again

You can have an additional barrel on your marker for when you need it, specifically for quick barrel cleaning, the apex barrel system, bore size, first strike rounds, many adaptations.

cockerpunks testing showed that the apex makes the gun a little less accurate but the ranges definately make up for the accuracy i think it was like two inches off at 100 ft

I see how it makes up for its accuracy, but you also have to think about thats only the distance it can travel. To me accuracy is for how long the ball travels before it starts to arc or how slow the arc process is. The straighter the paintball the better, at least for me.

Depends on the person, some want different barrels for different situations, like two short barrels like a sharktooth and an apex, or when you have a break you can clean one and shoot with the other if the situation calls for it.

Yes the velocity change is a problem, but if you have noticed most of the time I have played in a scenario game noone really follows the velocity rules especially a certain team I played against in Ocala, if you played there you know who im talking about.. and this product isnt completely pointless. If one of you guys that commented badly on this product gets shot when cleaning out a ball break, you might think otherwise. Id like to see those guys come up with something for paintball.

@baconator490 I have the Apex and this proves to be a big problem, the resistance the barrel makes on the ball to provide the "spin" slows the ball on the chrono about 25-30 fps when compared to other barrels I use like the Dye Ultralight.

i honestly dont see the real point of it for switching between barrels because most barrels shoot the same and with the apex u could just as easily just turn the flatline affect off but this is great for if u break paint in one barrel u dont have to swab it out u just switch the barrel

Great idea,this would be ideal for woodsball. If you were playing the dagger position you could use a short barrel. But if the squad commander wanted you to play broadsword you could simply change barrels to get those long shots. This is great!!

Why? If you switch to a short barrel you'll just lose accuracy, and your gun will stay as long as your longest barrel. The only reasonable application I can imagine is the apex, but the apex can be turned off, so...

Evidently you don't know anything about woodsball,I play the dagger and broadsword positions. For the dagger you need to be fast,mobile,and aggresive. And no, you are wrong on your barrel length theory. I have a 6 inch opsgear fluted barrel that will put 5 shots at 100ft under an inch with no problem.

When you play the broadsword you are usually going to be laying down some suppresive fire or doing a bad ass flank on someone. There for you need a long barrel to stick out of cover that you should be hid behind. its hard to stick a 6 inch barrel out of cover when you are dug in behind a bunker and you can't afford to have your body to close to the bunker.

it's not so much length. a barrel doesn't get much more accuracy after 13-16 inches; the paintball is the true accuracy factor. it's what the barrel does. the apex curves the ball. the tippmann straightline is rifled, and can supposedly increase accuracy. then you have your barrels with inserts, like the Freak Jr barrels [ion threads]. the accuracy isn't about length so much as quality, and a short, well made barrel with outplay a $50 20". besides, high quality barrels are usually longer anyway.

That's not what he means. We all know that longer barrels give no bonuses to accuracy or range. He means wrapping the barrel around the side of a bunker, or in woodsball sticking it through a hole in a bunker. It makes it easier to do suppressive fire without revealing more of your body that you need to.

so the problem with this is that different barrel bore sizes can drastically affect your velocity.

In a regulated game, you'll have to chrono both both barrels under 2xx fps to play. Changing barrels mid game is already illegal anywhere i Ref. i don't see how this is any different.

A few other players and I played with it at Waynes World in Ocala and we didnt have any problem with it, and we only needed to chrono 1 barrel. The bore size should work with all barrels and its tapered on the inside.
