@1.05 u seem to play differently than most tabs. I actually prefer your way cause my hands are are just too short to play my current tabs. Do u have tabs for your version? i can't read classical notes properly.
@seowlung I was just trying to figure out John Williams' fingering. That's a inversion of the "original" chord. I'll try to post the chord on my blog. Please check the link under this video later.
wonderful technique and amazing fingering , a very good guitarist , but as musician youll have to work . your interpretation seemed to me fade . but congrats.
Mtallica101 You'll find different ways of playing this throughout the world.
It is a piano piece and this way is true to the original way it is written, In IMO not too nice on the piano, but I do not believe it is written appreggiated for the piano.
I personally like the chords to ring out more as well as per the way Segovia played it but this is much like John Williams' style.
Lovely playing, and great technique! However, this is played very much like a classical study which it is not! get some beauty and romance in there! :)
The second and third parts are really worth learning!
I know other people have commented on the strums, i personally find that a rasquardo is the best way to get a ringing spanish sound. (Struming the strings by spreading your fingers.) Keep playing and keep posting!
I'm learning this right now and it doesn't seem very difficult at the moment. The only thing that consistently trips me up is hitting the bar chords with root at the low B earlier on in the song. It's hard for me to do that and not touch the B string :) Hopefully after a year or two I can play it was well and as smoothly as you do!
Clean and good- well played Joe. I asked you on another post whether you played any Albeniz- I waded through and found this. Have a listen to mine- you will hear the rasguedo on the chord part which makes them sound huge and 'full'. Regards.
The right hand fingering is quite straight forward. At the beginning, I use p-i-p-m( or p-m-p-i, same thing), or you can use p-i all the time(or p-m, same thing), It really doesn't matter much. At the triplet part, use p-i-m & p-i-a, or you can use p-i-m all the time.
Admittably you do need to bar E A and D (as responce to someone below). Part of the beauty of this song are the overtones that form from multiple bass strings sounding together.
Gorgeously clean fingering though =]. I would also say you work on dynamics, the melody needs to go up and down in volume to sound better.
(yes I play this too, picked up from notes, resquerdo the chords though, more fun)
well, u played it well!!! its continuous n almost prefect.. btw, do u have the score for this song, i wanna noe how u strumm the 3rd type.. yea, john williams style..
Wow, that was incredible. My friend can play that song too; he's pretty good. But you seem to do it so fluidly; well, he's about my age, 17, 18. I've always wanted to play 'Asturias'; I've got a classical guitar but I'm not all that good. This video makes me want to learn it, so I will!
Very good. I'm working on this for the first time and right at about 1:08 in your video is where I start falling apart in the song...it's hard to get all those notes sounding cleanly.

@benjive hold your -m- finger on the first string and with finger -i- play the notes on the second string...

It's good to see that you don't bar E, A, and D in the beginning. I don't either, it's simpler, and the tone doesn't get changed. Good job

Would you mind telling us what model your guitar is and what strings do you use?

Guitar: Española CG-18
Made in China
This is a cheap one, costs around $200 something, strings may be EJ45 or 46 intalled more than 2 years ago.
