I love this rendition of Touch Me. I'm a UK citizen who lives in the states. But can we all acknowledge for one second that there wouldn't even BE an OLC without the talent and success of the OBC? They're both awesome in entirely different ways. So can people layoff the American cast for a moment? Thank you. I never thought I'd say that.
He didn't "steal" Gerard's solo. Gerard-and Matt Doyle, for that matter-held out the "cry," Jos holds out the "where" instead. It's similar, but there's only so many changes you can make to the solo.
I can't believe I missed it! Me and 2 of my friends were going down to London to see it after our exams finished and then we found out the day of the last exam that it was about to close!!
Everysingle member of the OLC looks the age they're meant to be. the broadway cast look way older. The london production is the most amazing thing and i could probably watch it every evening and not get sick of it.The tony performance had nowhere near the same passion that the london kids give but as i said, i havent seen it in the theatre so that could have been a one off..
harry has the most incredible voice - so pure. really incredible. I believe he is the real star of the show - of coruse everyone else is amazing but still harry is just amazing. :D x
its sooo annoying that its closing because for the last 2 weeks everynight has been sold out because people have started seeing it and telling people about it and they're now taking it off, if they left it longer and left wortd of mouth go round they would have more people!
they announced closing three weeks ahead of time - if they announced it was going to close at the end of its booking period (or shorten to say end august), then maybe it would have survived longer than that date. it was just too short for any hope of a revival at the Novello, sad as that is.
well I told all my friends about it, but we've all got GCSEs going at the moment, they were going to go and see it in July after exams. Now they can't...
its closing because the only audience it attracts are quite young people who cant afford the tickets :( and they cant put the ticket prices down as they would just loose money.. i know because i know the person who does the follow spot for it, but thats the reason. fortunately i got to see it, and say its the best thing i've ever seen! lol
the british public as you put it arent stupid - its just the timing !
I saw it last night!
it was amazing !
but most people still have exams - if it had have stayed at the lyrics for another month or two then came to the west end - it would be a different story .
as it goes no one can really go atm because of exams - so its a shame that one of the best shows on in the west end has to close due to this !
I probably will never see it in London, but I have been impressed with the songs I have heard. It seems they all have talent and could do this for multiple years.
I have never seen OBC, or OLC, but the OBC isn't going on now, so we should love our fellow guilty ones across the pond. (and I hope they love us back.)
i guess there is just some bias b/c it is 2 different countires. this is the first time that I have read comments saying the olc is better then the obc. There is some proof in how long these 2 productions lasted.....
the broadway cast creep me out, they look way too old for their roles and just in general i love the voices on the london cast. i dont think you should judge it at all on how long they lasted, you cant pidgeon hole one reason why it was down to several factors, and not ONE was regarding the capability and talent of the actors.
The closing is nothing to do with how long the two productions lasted. The target age group for the show are all having exams at the moment, if they had just kept it open for a month more the sales would have picked up.
And on a more childish note, the broadway cast are manchildren.
I'm sorry but how can they pass off as school age.
I understand that exams are going on now, but the US has exams as well and the show was able to stay open for nearly 3 years. There are several members under the age of 20...they were still in high school during the time. Both casts have people who look older then school aged.I am not here to argue.
I just posted to express my opinion about the overall production of London..not about ages.I am free to express my opinion against the London cast, just as you guys have been going against the Broadway cast. I personally think that the OLC does not have too many strong singers, with the exception of the girl playing Wendla.
it's not exactly like Gerard's... (like the comment below me stated) this Georg didn't do the same riff as Gerard... but it IS slightly similar, so I can see where you're coming from :)
i wish they'd hold the notes longer

None of the 31/01/09 recordings do.
Was it someone from swing?

iwan and aneurin are so good in this, favourite song from the show.
i can't believe that the show's closing,
it's incredible and the cast are amazingly talented, i even prefered it to billy elliot.
is there no chance at all that it could stay open?
also, does anyone know how old jamie blackley [hanschen] is?
and who is the 16 year old cast member?
daniellecharlotte93 2 years ago 2
I think he's about 17/18
And Lucy Barker (Ilse) was 16 when the show started but has turned 17 since. I can't believe she's so young! She's amazing.

I have some questions:
Why is it closing all of a sudden?
Is their any chance it could start up again?
I probably will never see it in London, but I have been impressed with the songs I have heard. It seems they all have talent and could do this for multiple years.
I have never seen OBC, or OLC, but the OBC isn't going on now, so we should love our fellow guilty ones across the pond. (and I hope they love us back.)

It's closing because not enough people are buying tickets to see it. There is a chance it could start up again, but it seems unlikely.

told you people think ur good... as do i!! :)
booshkins27 2 years ago
haha he didnt steal the solo,
the riff is different.
he's also more talented,
he merely improved the solo with a better riff and a better voice.

I understand that exams are going on now, but the US has exams as well and the show was able to stay open for nearly 3 years. There are several members under the age of 20...they were still in high school during the time. Both casts have people who look older then school aged.I am not here to argue.
abbie8908 2 years ago

racklewackle 2 years ago
Both casts have people who don't look school aged...its ok!
Chris Barton
Hayley Gallivan
Edd Judge
Gemma ODuffy
It should not member the ages of the person. Out of curiosity, what is the age of the youngest cast member?
abbie8908 2 years ago
16 years old
racklewackle 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
The youngest in the OBC was 15 and in the replacement cast it was 16.
The reason for not liking the US should have nothing to with the way the cast looks. It should be the level of talent/singing/acting.
There are some individual standouts.....I think the OLC is ok, I just don't think they are quite to the level of the Broadway cast as a whole.
abbie8908 2 years ago
uhm Edd Judge JUST got out of school so he actually is school age
