Someone correct me if im wrong, but this volcano put out enough dust and other waste material into the air which lead to beautiful sunsets for about 6 years

Not just that, it also sent rocks flying about 17 miles into the atmosphere, and although this seemed large, on the scale of volcano this is but a minuscule bump, krakatoa was much much bigger

I never heard about the sunset thing (though it might be true) but I was a kid in Connecticut when this volcano blew and I remember looking up in the sky and seeing gray and black soot and dust floating by for days. I'm sure the effects of this blast were seen and felt around the world.
