So with the optional strap you could strap your front foot in and not your back so you could still use the brake? That will be really cool can't wait!
Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, the Next Generation Snowboard is still a concept board. The board shown in the video is just a conventional board that has been modified to demonstrate how the brake works. Once manufactured, the Next Gen board will be much smaller, and therefore, much easier to kickflip. Hopefully, it will be manufactured soon, so you will have a chance to try for yourself and see how much fun it really is!
i personally think regular snowboarding is much more fun because you have the freedom to spin, do rail tricks, and grabs plus the boots and bindings are just your own personal style.
Thanks for the comment Chad. On the The Next Gen Snowboard, you can do almost everything that can be done on a regular snowboard - and so much more. With the optional slide-in foot straps, you can still do rail tricks and grabs, but you can also do lots of other things, such as kickflips, ollies, and a host of other skateboard-style tricks that currently cannot be done on regular snowboards. The only thing missing are the boots - and I have a feeling they won't be missed that much!
Thanks for your comment Chris. Yes, it may seem like it might slip - but it won't. The non-slip surface holds up in any conditions - even ice & snow. So, unless you engage in extreme snowboarding, you will stay on the board as long as you want. Technical note: this board was designed to turn effectively without having to carve. On a Storm board you can turn all you want, and since you control your downhill speed with the brake - there is no need to carve. Hope this answers your question.
There is no date yet (when it will be available), but if you go to the Storm website and add your name to our First to Ride waiting list , youll be the first to know when, how much, and where you can buy Storm's Next Gen snowboard.
