The Xmas and Easter Services in Westminster Abbey or St Paul's and Westminster Cathedral are always packed to the doors and I think people really make the effort to attend . Congregations are usually 2.000 strong. There's nothing like the sound of glorious Organ music thundering out after a service. The Orgainst on this clip is playing the Vierne Finale from Symphony No.1
This looks fantastic. My wife and I will spend the holidays in London and we plan on attending this service on Xmas eve. Can you share any pointers like, for instance, how early we need to arrive to the Abbey. Thanks!
I attended the evening service at 6:30 pm (and they also have the service at 11 pm), it took me about 40 minutes to stand in a queue, so it's better to come about an hour in advance to be in the first row. Good luck and Merry Christmas!)
My Westminster video is now on YouTube... In looking at your video again, I think you shot your footage at the end of the service? I was looking hard to see if my wife and I were walking past your camera.
Thanks... and good luck to you and your family.
(Oh, my next video will be from Novgorod and some more from my trip to the USSR in 1989.)
Hey... my wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary inside Westminster Abbey on Christmas Eve (we are from Texas) and we were only about 40 feet away from you. I too shot some video that same night. I'll have to dig it up and post on YouTube... Keep watching for mine.
