One of their best songs ever, however it was not to be played on Radio and was hung on a nail on the wall in case of emergency, if there was a problem at the station it was quickly to be played to warn the office on land that there was a problem onboard....................not good where 'payola' was concerned!, sad Rod never got to retire after 40 years as group leader he died of cancer, we think of you Rod, beautiful voice. Enjoy people, just enjoy!!
@yuba64 Cool! You guys had one of those too??? WE had "I Fought The Law" by The Bobby Fuller Four! I was at KLOU ( not the one currently in St. Louis..the one in Lake Charles in the 70's)
I just turned 62yo(Dec. 2011) and this song takes me back to a time when I had just got my drivers license. A cute little blond girl and I were so "in love." My first love! Someone, I can't remember who, sang a song that echos in my head when I hear music like this. It says: "Time, oh time sweet time, where did you go?" How true, how true!
@garymichael1950 Thanks for the info. Gary. I had done some searching and found that it was the Pozo Seco Singers. I knew that Don Williams had done a cut of this song but I did not know he was a member of the group. If I'm correct there were three members in the group. Do you know what happened in the lives of the girl and other guy? Man, this was a long time ago!!
It bring me some good memories I was 15 when this song came out, and love it right away, I did never got tired of listen it over and over again and still do, it is part of my life and always will, such a beautiful song!!
The best of two worlds, talent and appearance! The British Invasion from that time was fabulous! Pop a couple tops, listen to these gems, and just FEEL your own creative juices flowing! That's how I write music AND poetry. Never drink and drive, but if you're in for the night, a few beers and a slightly altered conscious can reduce inhibitions, and is GREAT for creativity!

growing up in britain then, we took all these songs for granted: they just kept coming. in hindsight, who knew they'd still sound great 50 years on?
