OMG! I'm a bird napper! :O TY so much for this information about the "fledgling" baby or juvenile bird(s)! It was very helpful! Now I know what to do, with this lil fella I found just about a couple of hours ago! I must return him/her to the area and hopefully, that the mama and or the papa bird will find it and help their baby to do what it does best! To live and fly free! TY again! :/ *waves*
My cat was let out since she wanted to go out, I didn't let her out, my father ended up finding the baby bird, which my cat hunted and was playing with, it was still alive and in my room, I feed it oats and give it water in the morning, afternoon, and night 5 times each every 30 or 15 minutes (total number of feeding through time), it has an injured eye and is still a little bit blind, the left eye is starting to open and the leg is also injured, it stopped bleeding the second day.

I found a fledgling, very very small, on a little road...I didn't knew what to do so I picked it up and locked for the nest, but I didn't found it...Although I've noticed it was calling the parents, and I am sure I heard their answer. I put it back on the road in a place with a great view from above...I hope I did the right thing...:/
Part 1 - Very disappointed with the advice given in this video. I found a fledgling sparrow in the window well of my basement on Thrusday night. It was chirping away so loud I heard it in my basement, I went outside and saw it couldn't get out of the well, it was only about 4" deep with rocks on the bottom. I took the advice here and left it alone and went back on Fridat afternoon, it was still there. When I went out on Saturday morning it was laying on its side near death. I picked it up
i love your video. but while watching it and waiting for it to load..... i grabbed the little marker and slowly dragged it across.. lmao. your faces are priceless :) love em
My wife found a fledgling, she put it in a small box with a wash cloth and I wrapped a wire hanger and slid the box into the loop I made and hung it on a fence and MOMMY & DADDY are taking care of it. I hung it about 2.5 ft off the ground so if it falls again it wont fall far. The wifes a Nurse and I'm in Med School so its just in our nature to nurture.
Now I'm showing the neighbors and their kids what to do in this situation thanks to this video!
@PsychStudent85 I found a fledgling last month with a broken wing (bone sticking out) cuz she fell from teh nest and was attacked by iguanas, the brother bird died. She lastted 1 week and then died too.And last sunday I found a fladgeling on my neighbor's sidewalk and was almost covered in ants and didnt movo.So when mom picked him up the bird mom got crazy flyign from tree to tree.We have him in my room atm,he is friendly and follows me everywhere and at feeding time he opens the beek :)
Good advice, I chased a cat away from a Blackbird fledgling yesterday. I was alerted to it by it's mother who was flying around the cat and making loud warning noises.
I just found a baby bird. The nest was to high up to reach so we couldnt put it back. We made a makeshift nest and it was really hungry i red that if you do a mixture of one part sugar to 4 parts water it can rehydrate the bird. i knew not to feed it cause i didnt know what type it is but the water seemed to help. Later i saw this video so i tied it as high up on the tree as i could next to its nest. Hopefully its mama will get it.
I think you are amazing thank you so much for the great info..So very informative.. Thank You so much for taking your time out to share your your insight!!
I found a Robin Fledgling with visible injuries, he was bleeding in three spots. I took him in, cleaned his wounds, brought him back out the same day as he was looking much better, his parents were around and freaked out when they seen him. I didn't think it was safe for him as he was wounded and couldn't fly. I didn't know there was chance he couldn't fly because he was a fledgling. Second day now and no sign of his parents. i'm lost, and there really aren't any places around to take him. HELP!
Thanks for this! I got off work &saw a fledgling starling stuck in our brick cart coral I had heard you should leave fledglings where they were but I forgot how to tell them from nestlings. It was stupid, but I took him home in a box because I didn't want him smushed by carts! Came straight to the computer, saw this video and took him right back, putting him in a large planter next to the coral. There were several things that made me think this was close to his nest. It felt right!
I found one today, it hadn't moved and looked weak as I walked by it 20 minutes earlier. I took it home and gave it a few pieces of worm I didn't know either way what to feed it. But within 10 minutes it got pretty hyper and wanted to jump out of the box. I did a little research while it was here, it was indeed a fledgling so I just took it back to where I found it. Well at least I gave it a quick meal, it was hopping around on the grass as I walked away, hope the parents come back for it.
very helpful and informative, thank you. I've been trying to care for a tiny baby bird I found on my porch cooking in the sun. I brought it in to care for it, but 24 hours later, I don't think it's doing so well, not really eating, lethargic, etc. I need to take it to someplace where they know how to care for it properly, since I have know idea where it's nest is or even where it fell from. Thanks for the good advice this
Omg geez so MANY long long comments.
