Whoever says that Generation Y is the worst generation, think of what generation your future kids are gonna be. They are gonna be 10 times worse. 1980 was the cusp, but the early 80s was the transition zone. In my last year of highschool (99') I clearly noticed a shift in the 1983-onward kids. It's like they didn't get the joke with bubblegum pop music. They all took it seriously, ate it up and it showed in their style and attitude. Teens have always been followers but these were different

Suddenly no appreciation for any music older than 6 months. When only 4 years earlier it was frowned upon to not know your history.

Another thing is, kids these days fantasize about being "gangsters / sexy / rich / ballin' / etc" all sorts of shallow materialistic pursuits that never even entered my generation's minds as kids.

We were allowed to be kids, we played outside, made model cars, drew, wrote stories, used our IMAGINATIONS. I know kids still do these things, but the majority I've seen appear to be WAY too concerned about being 'cool' at an extremely young age.

Education and a stable society is what will fix this. We need to make the army mandatory for young people so they can learn good work ethic.
