@ilikchez I'm pretty broke this year. I'm not some rich guy. I have lots of debt to pay off and things to save for. You probably won't see anymore rc plane videos from me until 2013. btw, I finally did get better but it was costly. Learning how to fly rc planes did not come easy for me but I still loved trying even with all the failure. That's the take away I wish people would have. If you really want to do something but suck at it, keep trying and eventually you'll get good at it.
WOW what a jackass as others have said i hope your kidding those props will slice the flesh right off of you and lipos on fire are like acid bombs waiting to blow up hell they got bags to charge the batteries in just in case they blow up when charging you could have really fu&*ed up your kid man having him so close your rights as a parent should be taken away
I think you are a good guy. I also like your honesty about your learning how to fly by showing this video. Yes I started out the same way. I always see smart ass remarks from people on these vids. If the truth was known they were no better in the beginning.
this is why they make r/c flight simulators. my buddy can do the helicopters, and he let me try with a mini on ea bunchof tiems and its hella difficult
@Simmey75cat Save yourself time and money and buy an RC flight simulator. I got much better after using RealFlight which comes with a realistic controller. They way I learned was very dangerous. I'm lucky that I never hit anyone. I'd advise you take more care than I did. The ParkZone F4U is not for beginners. Start with a beginner plane. I'd also recommend avoiding planes with motors and props in the front since you'll destroy them. I'd also recommend crash-proofing from killerplanes.
Give up this hobby as you are clueless and a danger not ony to yourself but more importantly other people around you !!! you son is the most sensible as he actually had the fore thought to put a helmet on !!!!
@jimtinamx5 I get two types of comments on this video and they are at extreme opposites of the spectrum. There's type "A" like your comment and type "B" which is totally supportive and think I'm awesome for never giving up. BTW, I got the hang of it now. These videos documented my learning period which I'm sure everybody goes though. Mine was just a lot longer than most since this did not come easy for me but I loved every minute of it. That's my nephew. Do you call your dad by his first name?
@patcoston Glad you have the hang of this RC lark and apologies for the mixup in the parentage of your nephew, I was watching your vid with the volume down low.
@turkishflight1010 if you crash a lot, get a plane that will hold up well on crashes. Wait until your crashes are few and far between before you get a more breakable replica of an actual plane. Check out killerplanes and their crash proofing kits.
@turkishflight1010 No, I wouldn't start like that. Take a motor-powered sailplane, you'll need a forgiving and slow-flying plane at first. Those beginner plane have less bad unpredictable habits than the scale ones.
@nemoskull I'm a DIY kinda guy. I usually teach myself. Taught myself how to ski, snowboard, rollerblade and learned HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP, ASP.NET, VBScript, C, C++, C#, JSON etc. on my own. I'm actually pretty good at flying RC planes now. I started filming after I got my Corsair. I went through 5 other planes before that for which I was a much worse pilot. I wish I had recorded those flights. Talk about dangerous and crazy! Even I cringe when I think about it.
@BreakdancerDJ I never kept track of how much the hobby cost but I'd estimate an average of $200 per month for a year so maybe $2400 to learn the hard way. I'm a DIY guy. I'm self taught in skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading, rc planes and helicopters, making web pages, etc. Doing it yourself is harder than getting help, more expensive and more dangerous but it's also more exciting and rewarding.
A for effort, A for comedy, but F for safety. Keep trying and you will get it, but please find a field W/O cars, people and buildings. Good to hear got have the hand of it, but again, please push the limits in a safe way. Can't wait to see more.
I cried a little from laughing!! However, I wasn't laughing at you but with you. The way you just don't care and keep going is commendable. I'd be cursing and all discouraged and everything. By the way, is that guy on the yellow tshirt you?
@MikestangToTheMax it's hard to know how many planes I've had since I bought a lot of parts to replace the ones I smashed. I'd guess I probably went through roughly 6 ParkZone Corsairs if you added it all up. This was my learning period. I think I got the hang of it now but I'll still keep trying new and crazy stuff and pushing the limits of my skill on my new channel rebelplanes.
@Aaaaaagggghhhhhh It's funny how I get two kinds of comments on this video. 50% are like yours saying it's funny and giving encouraging words to keep trying and the other 50% is how much they hate my video and try to give encouragement but in a negative way. BTW, I got the hang of it now and rarely crash so to keep my vids interesting I'm going to keep trying new stuff and pushing my limits. Subscribe out my new channel rebelplanes. I'll have a new Hawkfighter to experiment with.
I really love you enthusiasm, but please find a safe place to fly away from people and property while learning, a lot of people including myself love this hobby and cringe at seeing someone putting it in danger with unsafe practices. Visit you local model aero club, if the are real model flyers they would be glad to help you learn to fly in a safe manner. Just have fun, but use some common sense.
your flying in heavy wind, at locations that are unsuitable, your plane is tail heavy, your taking off comming towards you, your brain "cell" aint working, there aint enough space on here to list all the things ur doing wrong so ill put it all into 1 word "everything"!!!!! get a simulator and do some research man COG , take off and landing , maintance and repair is just a starting point please stop recording these crashes its painfull to watch POOR PLANE !!!!!!!!
You are the best advert for why people should join a club and learn to fly properly and safely. Your utter disregard for safety and utter lack of skill will surely end up in a law suit soon enough.
Try launching it by holding it by the cockpit from the top and do a under hand through. Ask me if you need a video to help you understand more of what I'm saying
When you get in trouble just hand the transmitter over to the kid... He may be able to do better.... Just kidding man, you gave me a good laugh and I'm sure all that put a hurt on your wallet too
thanks for the laughs!! Ive never seen someone tear up more shit! Also props for giving the kid a helmet...with your flying abilty..you probably need one too
@patcoston go to your youtube search bar. type in "Flite Test: Rare Bear - REVIEW " this plane is EPP. if you check my videos i use ritewing flying wings, they are also EPP. (except the ZII) EPP is a really great foam for planes as it is so durable and crash resistant.
@patcoston EPP (can't remember exactly what it stands for) is basically bullet proof foam, usually cover with fibre reinforced tape, and coloured packing tape for colouring (obviously). Best thrown from the side of a hill (unpowered aka glider) and will teach you more about model flying than any other discipline. Once you crack slope flying, you can then fly flat field with a motor. Seemples :)
@patcoston GOOD THINKING! I like the corsair a lot though but i would recommend the AXN floater just for flying, then maybe go back to the corsair. The AXN is meant to hold up pretty well for the kind of flying it looks like youre doing!
As I'm sure you've figured out at this point, the Parkzone Corsair is NOT the plane to attempt to learn to fly on. While I admire your perseverance, some of the conditions and locations you selected to fly in showed very poor judgement. If you're still having difficulty, seek out advice from experienced modelers. There are plenty of online forums like RCGroups where you can get help if there are no clubs in your area. Keep going, but please, do it safely!
Awesome...keep trying! You obviously know how to fly pretty well...someone with a bit more flying experience can probably help you eliminate some of the rookie mistakes. We have all been there!
Do you have an R/C flight simulator program like RealFlight? Have you ever had a lesson from an experienced R/C modeler?
Your learning curve displays many hard hits and literally often idiotic flying; lots of disregard for safety. Outside of your admirable perseverance (and probably deep pocket) the only positive thing I can say is that you appear to know how to edit video — and the person holding the camera often knows how to frame the image.
LOL my ass off - best of all you kept going on, must be a pro on (re)building RC planes by now. Dont ever learn how to fly (or you probably wont serve another crash series clip).
@numnutchris This video documents my learning period. These days I rarely crash but when I get my new plane from killerplanes with crash-proofing, I'll be pushing my limits and I'm sure it will results in some good crashes. Stay tuned! Oh and subscribe to rebelplanes too. That's where I'll be posting most of my RC plane videos.
Glad to see you've got a sense of humor! I remember seeing your earlier "crash and burn" video awhile back. A cub is a little slower and more stable in the air / on landings than a corsair. Thanks for sharing anyways - entertaining :)
@Master22Productions The clips are in no particular order. When the fire went out, all the foam and plastic was burned up and all the was left was the metal parts. I bought the plane 3 times but if you add all of the replacement parts, I probably had six Corsairs total before I finally decided to move onto something else. My next plane will be from killerplanes. They take planes and add crash-proofing which is what I need. I'd like to keep flying after a crash.
@3335504 The camera I stuck in the fuselage interfered with the push rods to the elevator. I knew the plane was tail heavy from the camera so I was trying to keep the nose down to prevent stalling on the toss but the push rods stuck then suddenly un-stuck.
Keep on flying! Toss into the wind. Use a next strap for the TX. Land into the wind. Check your CG after you install your battery, and then mark the location once its in the right place. There is a limit for flying into the wind with these things unless you use gyros.
@hamsterwing The nice thing about RealFlight is that you get a realistic transmitter as your controller instead of using keyboard/mouse. I did download a trial version of RealFlight which I did use keyboard/mouse but when I got the real thing, it was far more realistic. The biggest thing to learn is that everything reverses when the plane comes toward you.
You just don't give up do you. I have the hobbyzone super cub lp and I am going to get the parkzone f4u corsair. Do you have any good tips to make it fly good and not crash? BTW your videos are very good! :D
@hamsterwing My advice for you get the plane RCSuperPowers recommends watch?v=N2ZFVJg9-iE Also check out user killerplanes. They sell that plane with a crash-proof kit built in. Most of the RC plane companies don't build their planes to last. They want you to destroy them and buy parts and new planes so don't get a plane with the prop up front otherwise you'll be smashing props, motors and mounts. Learn on RealFlight. ParkZone F4U Corsair breaks too easily when it crashes.
Is it always really windy or are you just really lame at picking when to fly. Your lucky you have not hit somebody yet (these things are dangerous you know)
@Logic568 it always seems to be windy where I live. I remember one day in the past 2 years when there was absolutely no wind. With a strong tail wind on a fast descent I've gotten RC planes up to ludicrous speeds which would kill someone if they were struck in the head by the engine. I try to take care not to hurt or kill anyone but accidents can and do happen so you're right.
@9TailedTechFox I started out using the 3 blade props but I soon learned that the blades break off really easy compared to the 2 blade prop which was much more durable. The blade would only bend instead of snap off so I could actually bend it back in some cases with small bends. I'd estimate 20 props for my Corsair. I have 20 more but this year I haven't needed them except that now I've started to push my limits again on my new channel rebelplanes where I just destroyed a prop, cowl and wing.
@3801Catcher I've had several Corsairs. I'm on my last one. Once I trash this one I'm moving onto building my own planes or trying something different. I just destroyed my propeller, cowl and wing which you can see on my new channel rebelplanes where I plan to push my limits with various stunts, games, experiments, etc.
Hey man! Check out our videos (killerplanes) - we've got the plane for you! With the crashproofing kit installed, it bounces off the ground in all the same crashes you have in your video- you can get a LOT of good practice out of it before you have to replace it! Also, it's a good idea to put in some simulator time, and do your crashing on the computer- it's a lot cheaper! The real life crashes are a lot more fun when you just bounce off the ground, and put 'er up again! - Steve
@Killerplanes Thanks for the advice! Those crashes are from old videos. These days I rarely crash. I do like to fly when it's windy. It adds that extra challenge! I have put in a lot of time on the simulator RealFlight G4.0, G4.5 and G5 and now G5.5.
@Fra42below Those crash vids were from my learning year. This year I rarely crash except now I've started to push my limits with crazy stunts and experiment doing new things I've never done before on my new channel, rebelplanes. In my first two vids I break a prop, cowl and a wing.
@Fra42below Subscribe to my new channel at rebelplanes where I'm going to push my limits and experiment with things I've never tried before. I've got two new flight vids where I break a prop, cowl and a wing. Lots of crashing to come!

@acer19994 I've had about 4 Corsairs. I've actually lost count but I'm on my last one. Once I trash this one, I'm going to build my own custom planes and try some other types of planes. check out my new rc plane channel at rebelplanes where I'm going to push my limits and try new things. I've already two vids where I smashed my plane up pretty good.
@MyStephen2009 I had 2 HobbyZone Firebird Commanders and 2 HobbyZone SuperCubs. It's hard to say how many Corsairs I've had because I've replaced the wings about 5 times, gone through countless propellers, engine mounts and cowls. I've purchased a couple of new engines. If we're just counting the fuselage, this is my second corsair.
@michaelrc1 Subscribe to my new channel at rebelplanes where I'm going to push my limits and experiment with things I've never tried before. I've got two new flight vids where I break a prop, cowl and a wing. Lots of crashing to come!

Dont ever learn how to fly (or you probably wont serve another crash series clip).
numnutchris 2 months ago
@numnutchris This video documents my learning period. These days I rarely crash but when I get my new plane from killerplanes with crash-proofing, I'll be pushing my limits and I'm sure it will results in some good crashes. Stay tuned! Oh and subscribe to rebelplanes too. That's where I'll be posting most of my RC plane videos.

you should do this with a A6m Zero, then the crashes would be all the more life-like! thumbs up!

Glad to see you've got a sense of humor! I remember seeing your earlier "crash and burn" video awhile back. A cub is a little slower and more stable in the air / on landings than a corsair. Thanks for sharing anyways - entertaining :)
rcflyer40plus1 3 months ago
When it caught on fire did you get it fixed? Are these crashes in any particular order?
Master22Productions 3 months ago
@Master22Productions The clips are in no particular order. When the fire went out, all the foam and plastic was burned up and all the was left was the metal parts. I bought the plane 3 times but if you add all of the replacement parts, I probably had six Corsairs total before I finally decided to move onto something else. My next plane will be from killerplanes. They take planes and add crash-proofing which is what I need. I'd like to keep flying after a crash.

WOW !!!
Looks like the crash @ 1:15 you had the servo reversed...
You REALLY need to learn to fly before you go into a public area and hurt or kill someone...
3335504 3 months ago
@3335504 The camera I stuck in the fuselage interfered with the push rods to the elevator. I knew the plane was tail heavy from the camera so I was trying to keep the nose down to prevent stalling on the toss but the push rods stuck then suddenly un-stuck.
patcoston 3 months ago
This was hilarious! Thank you for making my day and for bringing good humor to the most frustrating thing about flying RC

maaan that corsair has been through alot but we all have to learn keep on flying
!
juztizskihi 3 months ago
Keep on flying! Toss into the wind. Use a next strap for the TX. Land into the wind. Check your CG after you install your battery, and then mark the location once its in the right place. There is a limit for flying into the wind with these things unless you use gyros.
Silverexpress01 3 months ago
Oh man, that bit were you say it's a bit windy I'm going for a landing.......very funny.

I dont know how you keep crashing it. Its not that hard to fly that plane. Get a simulator before you crash into somebody.
TailGunner9187 5 months ago
@patcostom I also have a 20$ rc filght sim it has the parkzone corsair on it and I use it alot.
hamsterwing 6 months ago
@hamsterwing The nice thing about RealFlight is that you get a realistic transmitter as your controller instead of using keyboard/mouse. I did download a trial version of RealFlight which I did use keyboard/mouse but when I got the real thing, it was far more realistic. The biggest thing to learn is that everything reverses when the plane comes toward you.
patcoston 6 months ago
You just don't give up do you. I have the hobbyzone super cub lp and I am going to get the parkzone f4u corsair. Do you have any good tips to make it fly good and not crash? BTW your videos are very good! :D
hamsterwing 6 months ago
@hamsterwing My advice for you get the plane RCSuperPowers recommends watch?v=N2ZFVJg9-iE Also check out user killerplanes. They sell that plane with a crash-proof kit built in. Most of the RC plane companies don't build their planes to last. They want you to destroy them and buy parts and new planes so don't get a plane with the prop up front otherwise you'll be smashing props, motors and mounts. Learn on RealFlight. ParkZone F4U Corsair breaks too easily when it crashes.
patcoston 6 months ago
Is it always really windy or are you just really lame at picking when to fly. Your lucky you have not hit somebody yet (these things are dangerous you know)
Logic568 6 months ago
@Logic568 it always seems to be windy where I live. I remember one day in the past 2 years when there was absolutely no wind. With a strong tail wind on a fast descent I've gotten RC planes up to ludicrous speeds which would kill someone if they were struck in the head by the engine. I try to take care not to hurt or kill anyone but accidents can and do happen so you're right.

just how many props did u lose in total
9TailedTechFox 10 months ago
@9TailedTechFox I started out using the 3 blade props but I soon learned that the blades break off really easy compared to the 2 blade prop which was much more durable. The blade would only bend instead of snap off so I could actually bend it back in some cases with small bends. I'd estimate 20 props for my Corsair. I have 20 more but this year I haven't needed them except that now I've started to push my limits again on my new channel rebelplanes where I just destroyed a prop, cowl and wing.
patcoston 10 months ago
Time to get a new corsair...Or start flying micro's :P
3801Catcher 10 months ago
@3801Catcher I've had several Corsairs. I'm on my last one. Once I trash this one I'm moving onto building my own planes or trying something different. I just destroyed my propeller, cowl and wing which you can see on my new channel rebelplanes where I plan to push my limits with various stunts, games, experiments, etc.

IronMike06 10 months ago
- Steve
Killerplanes 11 months ago
@Killerplanes Thanks for the advice! Those crashes are from old videos. These days I rarely crash. I do like to fly when it's windy. It adds that extra challenge! I have put in a lot of time on the simulator RealFlight G4.0, G4.5 and G5 and now G5.5.

How many planes have you bought so far ?
MyStephen2009 11 months ago
@MyStephen2009 I had 2 HobbyZone Firebird Commanders and 2 HobbyZone SuperCubs. It's hard to say how many Corsairs I've had because I've replaced the wings about 5 times, gone through countless propellers, engine mounts and cowls. I've purchased a couple of new engines. If we're just counting the fuselage, this is my second corsair.
