Thats because it was uploaded back in 09 when there was no HD settings and Youtube heavily compressed video

If he re-uploaded the video with 320kbps then it would sound formidable

I have studied theory a bit and have come to know how certain chords work with each other and all that jazz, but playing around is the only way to get a song with your heart in it ;)
